सूर्याचन्द्रमसौ धाता यथापूर्वमकल्पयत्। दिवं च पृथिवीं चान्तरिक्षमथो स्वः॥

sūryācandramasau dhātā yathāpūrvamakalpayat। divaṁ ca pr̥thivīṁ cāntarikṣamatho svaḥ॥

[सूर्य (sūrya) - the Sun; चन्द्रमसौ (candramasau) - and the Moon; धाता (dhātā) - creator or sustainer; यथा (yathā) - as; पूर्वम् (pūrvam) - previously; अकल्पयत् (akalpayat) - fashioned or created; दिवं (divam) - heaven or sky; च (cha) - and; पृथिवीं (pṛthivīm) - the earth; च (cha) - and; आन्तरिक्षम् (āntarikṣam) - the space between heaven and earth; अथो (atho) - thus; स्वः (svaḥ) - heaven;]

Dhātā in the beginning created the sun and moved the heaven, the earth, the firmament, and the happy (sky).
