Karika 32
करणं त्रयोदशविधं तदाहरणधारणप्रकाशकरम्। कार्यं च तस्य दशधाहार्यं धार्यं प्रकाश्यं च ॥३२॥
karaṇaṁ trayōdaśavidhaṁ tadāharaṇadhāraṇaprakāśakaram। kāryaṁ ca tasya daśadhāhāryaṁ dhāryaṁ prakāśyaṁ ca ॥32॥
[करणं त्रयोदश विधं तत् आहरण धारण प्रकाश करम्। कार्यं च तस्य दश ध आहार्यं धार्यं प्रकाश्यं च॥
karaṇaṁ = instruments are of; trayōdaśa = thirteen; vidhaṁ = type; tat = they; āharaṇa = apprehends / grasp; dhāraṇa = wear; prakāśa karam = illuminate; kāryaṁ = the acts; ca = and; tasya = it's; daśa dha = tenfold (through 10 indriyas); āhāryaṁ = grasping; dhāryaṁ = wearing; prakāśyaṁ = illuminating; ca = and;]
Instruments are of thirteen types. They grasp, wear, and illuminate. Their acts are tenfold grasping, wearing, and illuminating.
Thirteen instruments are eleven indriyas, ego and intellect. The acts are ten fold performed by five sense organs and five organs of action.]
