Vaisesika Sūtra 1.1.2

यतोऽभ्युदयनिःश्रेयससिद्धिः स धर्मः ॥२॥

yato’bhyudaya-niḥśreyasa-siddhiḥ sa dharmaḥ ॥2॥

[यतः (yataḥ) - from which; अभ्युदय-निःश्रेयस-सिद्धिः (abhyudaya-niḥśreyasa-siddhiḥ) - attainment of worldly prosperity and supreme good; सः (saḥ) - that; धर्मः (dharmaḥ) - is dharma;]

That from which the welfare, ultimate good, and accomplishments results is DHARMA.
