Vaisesika Sūtra 2.1.31

तदनुवियुषवधानादेकपृथक्त्वं ्त्वं चेति ३१

tadanuvidhānādekapr̥thaktvaṁ ceti ॥31॥

[तत् अनुविधानात् एक पृथक्त्वं च इति॥
tat = that; anuvidhānāt = through the following method; eka = one / lone; pr̥thaktvaṁ = distinctiveness; ca = even; iti = thus;॥]

By following this method, the separate distinctiveness of those (substances) is established.

इति प्रथम आह् निकः

iti prathama āh nikaḥ

Thus ends the 1st chapter (of the second section).
