Vaisesika Sūtra 7.2.26

इहेदमिति यतः कार्यकारणयोः स समवायः ॥२६॥

iha-idam-iti yataḥ kārya-kāraṇayoḥ sa samavāyaḥ ॥26॥

[इह-इदम्-इति (iha-idam-iti) - here-this-thus; यतः (yataḥ) - because; कार्य-कारणयोः (kārya-kāraṇayoḥ) - of effect and cause; सः (saḥ) - that; समवायः (samavāyaḥ) - inherence;]

Because of the perception “this is here,” inherence exists between cause and effect.
