Yōga Sūtra 2.13

सति मूले तद्विपाको जात्यायुर्भोगाः।

sati mūlē tadvipākō jātyāyurbhōgāḥ।

[सति मूले तत् विपाको जाति आयुः भोगाः।
sati = when remains; mūlē = root cause; tat = then; vipākō = it results in; jāti = birth; āyuḥ = span of life; bhōgāḥ = life experience;]

When root cause (obstacles and its imprints) remains, it results in birth, span of life, and life experience.
