Jaya - Ādi Parva (जय​ - आदि पर्वम्)

चतुर्विंशतिसाहस्रीं चक्रे भारतसंहिताम्।उपाख्यानैर्विना तावद्भारतं प्रोच्यते बुधैः ॥ (बोरि १.१.६१)
“He composed the Bhārata-saṃhitā consisting of twenty-four thousand [verses]. Without the upākhyānas (subsidiary narratives), the learned say that the Bhārata is of that extent.” (bori 1.1.61)
