संख्याभावात् ॥१-१-२०॥

saṃkhyābhāvāt ॥1-1-20॥

[संख्याभावात् (saṃkhyābhāvāt) - from the absence of enumeration;]

Because of the absence of enumeration (when the same sound is uttered multiple times).

(Because there is no enumeration when the same sound is uttered multiple times, its meaning is not altered, and thus it is eternal.)
