9.2 Summary
This (The qualities of Atma) is inferred to be because of conjunction, disjunction, and inherence of cause and effect. Of this, the cause-effect relationship arises from the component part. By this, verbal knowledge is explained. Cause, designation, sign, means of knowledge, and instrument are not different in meaning. This is due to dependence on the cognition - "this is of this". Memory arises from the impression formed by the specific and special conjunction of self and mind. Likewise, dream as well. Near-dream state as well. And from dharma as well. Misapprehension arises from defects in the senses and impressions. That is faulty knowledge. Faultless knowledge is valid. The views of seers and perfected ones arise from dharmas.
