kāryate yac ca kriyate saccāsacca kṛtaṃ tataḥ। tatrāśvasīta satkṛtvā asatkṛtvā na viśvaset ॥13-150-1॥
[कार्यते (kāryate) - is done; (from kṛ, passive voice); यत् (yat) - which; (relative pronoun); च (ca) - and; क्रियते (kriyate) - is performed; (from kṛ, passive voice); सत् (sat) - true; good; existent; च (ca) - and; असत् (asat) - false; not good; non-existent; च (ca) - and; कृतं (kṛtaṃ) - done; made; ततः (tataḥ) - from that; thereafter; तत्र (tatra) - there; आश्वसीत (āśvasīta) - should take courage; should trust; सत्कृत्वा (satkṛtvā) - considering as true; having regarded as true; असत्कृत्वा (asatkṛtvā) - considering as false; having regarded as false; न (na) - not; विश्वसेत् (viśvaset) - should trust;]
(Which is done and which is performed, true and false, done, from that. There one should take courage, having considered as true, having considered as false, not should trust.)
Whatever is done or performed—whether true or false—having been done, from that, there one should take heart; having considered as true, but having considered as false, one should not trust. (13-150-1)
kāla eva atra kālena nigrahānugrahau dadat. buddhim āviśya bhūtānāṃ dharmārtheṣu pravartate ॥13-150-2॥
[काल (kāla) - time; एव (eva) - indeed; अत्र (atra) - here; कालेन (kālena) - by time; निग्रहानुग्रहौ (nigrahānugrahau) - restraint and favor; ददत् (dadat) - giving; बुद्धिम् (buddhim) - intellect; आविश्य (āviśya) - entering; भूतानाम् (bhūtānām) - of beings; धर्मार्थेषु (dharmārtheṣu) - in duties and aims; प्रवर्तते (pravartate) - acts;]
(Time indeed here by time restraint and favor giving, intellect entering of beings in duties and aims acts.)
Here, time itself, giving restraint and favor by means of time, having entered the intellect of beings, acts in matters of duty and purpose. (13-150-2)
yadā tvasya bhavedbuddhirdharmyā cārthapradarśinī। tadāśvasīta dharmātmādṛḍhabuddhirna viśvaset ॥13-150-3॥
[यदा (yadā) - when; तु (tu) - however; अस्य (asya) - his; भवेत् (bhavet) - may become; बुद्धिः (buddhiḥ) - understanding; धर्म्या (dharmyā) - righteous; च (ca) - and; अर्थप्रदर्शिनी (arthapradarśinī) - indicative of purpose; तदा (tadā) - then; आश्वसीत् (āśvasīt) - should feel confident; धर्मात्मा (dharmātmā) - the righteous soul; दृढबुद्धिः (dṛḍhabuddhiḥ) - of firm understanding; न (na) - not; विश्वसेत् (viśvaset) - should trust;]
(When however his understanding may become righteous and indicative of purpose, then should feel confident the righteous soul; one of firm understanding should not trust.)
When, however, his discernment becomes righteous and reveals the true purpose, then the virtuous person should feel confident; but one with firm judgment should not trust blindly. (13-150-3)
etāvanmātram etad dhi bhūtānāṃ prājña-lakṣaṇam। kāla-yukto'py ubhaya-viccheṣam arthaṃ samācaret ॥13-150-4॥
[एतावन्मात्रम् (etāvanmātram) - just this much; only so much; एतत् (etat) - this; हि (hi) - indeed; भूतानाम् (bhūtānām) - of beings; प्राज्ञलक्षणम् (prājña-lakṣaṇam) - characteristic of the wise; कालयुक्तः (kāla-yuktaḥ) - with regard to time; अपि (api) - even; उभयविच्छेषम् (ubhaya-viccheṣam) - the distinction between both; अर्थम् (artham) - purpose; समाचरेत् (samācaret) - should perform;]
(Just this much, this indeed of beings is the characteristic of the wise. With regard to time, even, the distinction between both, the purpose, one should perform.)
This alone is the mark of the wise among beings. Adjusting one's actions according to time, one should fulfill the purpose while discerning between both. (13-150-4)
yathā hy upasthitaiśvaryāḥ pūjayante narā narān। evam evātmanātmānaṃ pūjayantīha dhārmikāḥ ॥13-150-5॥
[यथा (yathā) - just as; हि (hi) - indeed; उपस्थितैश्वर्याः (upasthita-aihvaryāḥ) - those endowed with present wealth; पूजयन्ते (pūjayante) - honor; नराः (narāḥ) - men; नरान् (narān) - men; एवम् (evam) - in the same manner; एव (eva) - just so; आत्मना (ātmanā) - by oneself; आत्मानम् (ātmānam) - oneself; पूजयन्ति (pūjayanti) - honor; इह (iha) - here; धार्मिकाः (dhārmikāḥ) - the righteous;]
(Just as indeed those endowed with present wealth, men honor men, in the same manner just so by oneself oneself honor here the righteous.)
Just as men honor those men who possess wealth, in the same way, here, the righteous honor themselves by themselves. (13-150-5)
na hy adharmatayā dharmaṃ dadyāt kālaḥ kathañcana। tasmād viśuddham ātmānaṃ jānīyād dharmacāriṇam॥ 13-150-6॥

(Not indeed by unrighteousness would time give righteousness in any way. Therefore, purified oneself one should know as engaged in righteousness.)
Time never grants righteousness by means of unrighteousness. Therefore, know the truly pure person as one who follows righteousness. (13-150-6)

(To touch even, not able indeed, burning like fire; unrighteousness always righteousness by time protected.)
Indeed, just as one is not able even to touch burning fire, so unrighteousness is never able to overcome righteousness, which is always protected by time. (13-150-7)

(In these two actions, indeed, by time, dharma indeed brings victory. Of the three worlds even, it may be (the cause of) illumination.)
In these two matters, indeed, by the influence of time, dharma truly brings victory. Indeed, it serves to illuminate even the three worlds. (13-150-8)

(There someone may lead, the wise, having indeed seized by the hand the man. Being carried away, he with righteousness, in righteousness, in the great trick of dangers.)
There, some wise person may lead the man, having firmly taken him by the hand. As he is being taken, he (must proceed) with righteousness amidst the many dangerous deceits in the path of righteousness. (13-150-9)
