[सम्यक् ज्ञान अधिगमात् धर्मादीनाम् अकारण प्राप्तौ। तिष्ठति संस्कार वशात् चक्र-भ्रमवत् धृत-शरीरः॥
samyak = perfect; jñāna = knowledge; adhigamāt = after attainment of; dharmādīnām = dharma and others; akāraṇa = not having the capacity to cause; prāptau = having obtained; tiṣṭhati = stays; saṁskāra vaśāt = due to influence of past impressions; cakra-bhramavat = like the wheel already set in motion; dhr̥ta-śarīraḥ = in the active body;]
After attainment of perfect knowledge dharma and other principles will not have the capacity to cause further impressions. But the soul continues to stay in the living body due to the influence of past impressions, like the wheel already set in motion.
