Vaisesika Sūtra 7.2.07

कार्यकारणयोरेकत्वैकपृथक्त्वाभावादेकत्वैकपृथक्त्वं न विद्यते ॥७॥

kāryakāraṇayor ekatvaika-pṛthaktvābhāvād ekatvaika-pṛthaktvaṃ na vidyate ॥7॥

[कार्यकारणयोः (kāryakāraṇayoḥ) - of effect and cause; एकत्व-एकपृथक्त्व-अभावात् (ekatva-eka-pṛthaktva-abhāvāt) - due to the absence of oneness and oneness-in-difference; एकत्व-एकपृथक्त्वं (ekatva-eka-pṛthaktvam) - oneness and oneness-in-difference; न (na) - not; विद्यते (vidyate) - come to light;]

Because of the absence of oneness (ekatva) and oneness-in-difference (ekapṛthaktva) between the cause and the effect, such oneness or oneness-in-difference does not come to light.
