Vaisesika Sūtra 7.2.21

एकदिक्काभ्यामेककालाभ्यां सन्निकृष्टविप्रकृष्टाभ्यां परमपरं च ॥२१॥

Farther and nearer, and proximity and remoteness are determined in the context of the same direction, at the same time.
