Vaisesika Sūtra 8.1.11

कारणाऽयोगपद्यात् कारणक्रमाच्च घटपटादि बुद्धीनां क्रमो न हत्फलभावात् ॥११॥

kāraṇāyogapadyāt kāraṇakramāc ca ghaṭapaṭādi buddhīnāṁ kramo na hatphalabhāvāt ॥11॥

[कारण-अयोग-पद्यात् (kāraṇa-ayoga-padyāt) - due to absence of causal connection; कारण-क्रमात् (kāraṇa-kramāt) - due to the causal order; घट-पट-आदि (ghaṭa-paṭa-ādi) - pot, cloth, etc.; बुद्धीनाम् (buddhīnām) - of cognitions; क्रमः (kramaḥ) - sequence; न (na) - not; हत्-फल-भावात् (hat-phala-bhāvāt) - because of absence of destroyed result;]

Due to absence of a causal connection and due to the causal sequence, the order of cognitions like pot and cloth is not disrupted, because there is no destruction of the result / effect.

॥इति प्रथम आह्निकः अष्टमोऽध्यायः॥

॥iti prathama āhnikah aṣṭamo'dhyāyaḥ॥

[इति (iti) - thus; प्रथमः (prathamaḥ) - first; आह्निकः (āhnikah) - lesson; अष्टमः (aṣṭamaḥ) - eighth; अध्यायः (adhyāyaḥ) - chapter;]

Thus ends the first lesson of the eighth chapter.
