Yōga Sūtras
Yōga Sūtra 1.44
एतयैव सविचारा निर्विचारा च सूक्ष्मविषया व्याख्याता।
ētayaiva savicārā nirvicārā ca sūkṣmaviṣayā vyākhyātā।
[एतय एव सविचारा निर्विचारा च सूक्ष्मविषया व्याख्याता।
ētaya = in the same way; ēva = only; savicārā = debate or enquire on a right topic; nirvicārā = without the need to debate or enquire on a topic; ca = and; sūkṣmaviṣayā = subtle nature; vyākhyātā = to be understood;]
Similarly, the subtle nature of 'savichara', equilibrium state with right enquiry on a topic, and 'nirvichara' equilibrium state without the need to enquire on a topic, must be understood.
Here 'vichāra' means enquiry on a topic. 'savichāra' is enquiry into right topic. One stays in 'savichāra' equilibrium state till one grasp the topic completely. Once the topic is fully grasped and experienced, the need to enquire disappears. Then one enters the 'nirvichāra' equilibrium state.
