Library:Snakes faint on Garuda’s back.
Sūta said:
Then the bird, capable of moving at will and possessing great strength and power, came to his mother's side at the far shore of the vast ocean.
In the place where Vinata was defeated by a bet, she became extremely grief-stricken and entered into servitude.
Then, once upon a time, Vinatā, in a humble posture in the presence of her son, called upon time, and Kadrū spoke these words.
O Vinata, please carry me to the serene and delightful abode of the serpents, located in the secluded depths of the ocean.
Then Suparna's mother carried the serpent mother. Garuda, following his mother's instructions, also carried the serpents.
The bird Garuda, son of Vinata, approached the sun, causing the serpents to faint due to the intense sun rays. Observing her sons in such a condition, Kadru praised Indra.
Salutations to the lord of lords, salutations to the slayer of Bala. O slayer of Namuchi, may salutations be to you, O thousand-eyed one, O lord of Śacī.
O best of immortals, be a raft with water for the sun-heated serpents. You alone are our supreme protection.
You are truly the lord who creates water, the great destroyer of cities, Indra. You are the cloud, the wind, and the lightning in the sky.
You are known as the one who disperses dense clouds, and they also call you a cloud again. You are the unmatched, fierce thunderbolt, resonant and powerful, you are the cloud.
You are the creator and the unconquered destroyer of the worlds. You are the light of all beings, the sun and the fire.
You are a great wonder, a king, the best among gods. You are Viṣṇu, the thousand-eyed, a god, and the ultimate refuge.
You are everything immortal, O god, you are Soma, the highly revered. You are the moment, the date, the instant, and indeed, you are the moment again.
You are the bright fortnight, the dark fortnight, the digits, minutes, and moments; the years, seasons, months, nights, and days.
You are the supreme earth adorned with mountains and forests; the sky illuminated by the sun and free from darkness. Likewise, the vast ocean teeming with whales and sharks; with mighty waves, numerous crocodiles, and a haven for fish.
You are always worshipped with great fame by the wise and joyful great sages. Praised, you drink Soma in the sacrifice, along with the oblations and offerings for the welfare.
You are constantly worshipped here by the learned for the sake of results; you are praised with incomparable strength in the limbs of the Vedas. For your sake, the best of the twice-born, who are dedicated to sacrifices, approach the limbs of the Vedas with all the Vedas.
