ततः कामगमः पक्षी महावीर्यो महाबलः। मातुरन्तिकमागच्छत्परं तीरं महोदधेः ॥१-२१-१॥
tataḥ kāmagamaḥ pakṣī mahāvīryo mahābalaḥ। māturantikamāgacchatparaṃ tīraṃ mahodadheḥ ॥1-21-1॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; कामगमः (kāmagamaḥ) - desire-moving; पक्षी (pakṣī) - bird; महावीर्यः (mahāvīryaḥ) - greatly powerful; महाबलः (mahābalaḥ) - very strong; मातुः (mātuḥ) - mother's; अन्तिकम् (antikam) - presence; आगच्छत् (āgacchat) - came; परम् (param) - other; तीरम् (tīram) - shore; महोदधेः (mahodadheḥ) - of the great ocean;]
(Then the desire-moving bird, greatly powerful and very strong, came to the presence of his mother at the other shore of the great ocean.)

यत्र सा विनता तस्मिन्पणितेन पराजिता। अतीव दुःखसन्तप्ता दासीभावमुपागता ॥१-२१-२॥

(Where she, Vinata, was defeated by a bet, extremely grief-stricken, she attained servitude.)

ततः कदाचिद्विनतां प्रवणां पुत्रसंनिधौ। काल आहूय वचनं कद्रूरिदमभाषत ॥१-२१-३॥

ततः सुपर्णमाता तामवहत्सर्पमातरम्। पन्नगान्गरुडश्चापि मातुर्वचनचोदितः ॥१-२१-५॥

(He, the bird, son of Vinata, goes near the sun. Enveloped by sun rays, the serpents fainted. Seeing her sons in that state, Kadru then praised Indra.)

(You are indeed the lord to create water, abundant destroyer of cities. You are indeed the cloud, you are the wind, you are the electric fire in the sky.)

tvam abhraghanavikṣeptā tvām evāhuḥ punar ghanam। tvaṃ vajram atulaṃ ghoraṃ ghoṣavāṃs tvaṃ balāhakaḥ ॥1-21-10॥
[त्वम् (tvam) - you; अभ्र (abhra) - cloud; घन (ghana) - dense; विक्षेप्ता (vikṣeptā) - disperser; त्वाम् (tvām) - you; एव (eva) - indeed; आहुः (āhuḥ) - they say; पुनः (punaḥ) - again; घनम् (ghanam) - cloud; त्वम् (tvam) - you; वज्रम् (vajram) - thunderbolt; अतुलम् (atulam) - incomparable; घोरम् (ghoram) - terrible; घोषवान् (ghoṣavān) - resounding; त्वम् (tvam) - you; बलाहकः (balāhakaḥ) - cloud;]
(You are the disperser of dense clouds; they say you are again a cloud. You are the incomparable, terrible thunderbolt, resounding; you are the cloud.)
