Core and Pancharatra: Karna starts destroying the Pandava forces, because of which they start retreating. When Yudhisthira instructs Arjuna to take on Karna, Krishna intervenes and suggests, let demon Ghatotkacha take on Karna. The mighty-armed Ghatotkacha, known for slaying enemy heroes, advanced towards Karna amidst the chaos, striking fear into Kaurava army.

tam āpatantaṃ saṅkruddhaṃ dīptāsyam iva pannagam। abhyasyan parameṣvāsaḥ pratijagrāha sūtajaḥ ॥7-148-61॥
