Yudhishthira said.
यद्वरं सर्वतीर्थानां तद्ब्रवीहि पितामह। यत्र वै परमं शौचं तन्मे व्याख्यातुमर्हसि ॥१३-१११-१॥
yad varaṃ sarvatīrthānāṃ tad bravīhi pitāmaha। yatra vai paramaṃ śaucaṃ tan me vyākhyātum arhasi ॥13-111-1॥
[यत् (yat) - which; वरम् (varam) - best; सर्वतीर्थानाम् (sarvatīrthānām) - of all sacred places; तत् (tat) - that; ब्रवीहि (bravīhi) - tell; पितामह (pitāmaha) - O grandsire; यत्र (yatra) - where; वै (vai) - indeed; परमम् (paramam) - supreme; शौचम् (śaucam) - purity; तत् (tat) - that; मे (me) - to me; व्याख्यातुम् (vyākhyātum) - to explain; अर्हसि (arhasi) - you are worthy;]
(Which is the best of all sacred places, that tell, O grandsire. Where indeed the supreme purity (resides), that to me to explain you are worthy.)
O Grandsire, tell me which is the best of all sacred places. Where the highest purity is found, please explain that to me. (13-111-1)
भीष्म उवाच॥

Bhishma said.
सर्वाणि खलु तीर्थानि गुणवन्ति मनीषिणाम्। यत्तु तीर्थं च शौचं च तन्मे शृणु समाहितः ॥१३-१११-२॥
sarvāṇi khalu tīrthāni guṇavanti manīṣiṇām। yat tu tīrthaṃ ca śaucaṃ ca tan me śṛṇu samāhitaḥ॥13-111-2॥
[सर्वाणि (sarvāṇi) - all; खलु (khalu) - indeed; तीर्थानि (tīrthāni) - holy places; गुणवन्ति (guṇavanti) - possessed of virtues; मनीषिणाम् (manīṣiṇām) - of the wise; यत् (yat) - which; तु (tu) - but; तीर्थं (tīrthaṃ) - holy place; च (ca) - and; शौचं (śaucaṃ) - purity; च (ca) - and; तत् (tat) - that; मे (me) - to me; शृणु (śṛṇu) - hear; समाहितः (samāhitaḥ) - attentive;]
(All indeed holy places are possessed of virtues of the wise; but which holy place and purity, that to me hear, O attentive one.)
All holy places are indeed virtuous for the wise; but listen attentively as I tell you which holy place and purity are meant. (13-111-2)
अगाधे विमले शुद्धे सत्यतोये धृतिह्रदे। स्नातव्यं मानसे तीर्थे सत्त्वमालम्ब्य शाश्वतम् ॥१३-१११-३॥
agādhe vimale śuddhe satyatoye dhṛti-hrade | snātavyaṃ mānase tīrthe sattvam ālambya śāśvatam ॥13-111-3॥
[अगाधे (agādhe) - unfathomable; विमले (vimale) - pure; शुद्धे (śuddhe) - immaculate; सत्यतोये (satyatoye) - with water of truth; धृतिह्रदे (dhṛti-hrade) - in the lake of steadfastness; स्नातव्यं (snātavyam) - should be bathed; मानसे (mānase) - in the mind; तीर्थे (tīrthe) - at the holy place; सत्त्वमालम्ब्य (sattvam ālambya) - relying upon steadfastness; शाश्वतम् (śāśvatam) - eternal;]
(In the unfathomable, pure, immaculate water of truth, in the lake of steadfastness, one should bathe at the holy place in the mind, relying upon eternal steadfastness.)
One should bathe in the unfathomable, pure, immaculate water of truth, in the lake of steadfastness, at the mental holy place, relying upon eternal steadfastness. (13-111-3)
तीर्थशौचमनर्थित्वमार्दवं सत्यमार्जवम्। अहिंसा सर्वभूतानामानृशंस्यं दमः शमः ॥१३-१११-४॥
tīrthaśaucamanarthitvamārdavaṃ satyamārjavam। ahiṃsā sarvabhūtānāmānṛśaṃsyaṃ damaḥ śamaḥ ॥13-111-4॥
[तीर्थशौचम् (tīrthaśaucam) - purity at holy places; अनर्थित्वम् (anarthitvam) - freedom from uselessness; आर्दवं (ārdavam) - gentleness; सत्यं (satyaṃ) - truth; आर्जवम् (ārjavam) - straightforwardness; अहिंसा (ahiṃsā) - non-injury; सर्वभूतानाम् (sarvabhūtānām) - of all beings; अनृशंस्यम् (ānṛśaṃsyam) - compassion; दमः (damaḥ) - self-restraint; शमः (śamaḥ) - tranquility;]
(Purity at holy places, freedom from uselessness, gentleness, truth, straightforwardness, non-injury to all beings, compassion, self-restraint, tranquility.)
Purity at holy places, freedom from meaningless acts, gentleness, truth, straightforwardness, non-injury to all beings, compassion, self-restraint, and tranquility. (13-111-4)
निर्ममा निरहङ्कारा निर्द्वंद्वा निष्परिग्रहाः। शुचयस्तीर्थभूतास्ते ये भैक्षमुपभुञ्जते ॥१३-१११-५॥
nirmamā nirahaṅkārā nirdvandvā niṣparigrahāḥ। śucayastīrthabhūtāste ye bhaikṣamupabhuñjate ॥13-111-5॥
[निर्ममा (nirmamā) - without sense of 'mine'; निरहङ्कारा (nirahaṅkārā) - without ego; निर्द्वंद्वा (nirdvandvā) - free from dualities; निष्परिग्रहाः (niṣparigrahāḥ) - without possessions; शुचयः (śucayaḥ) - pure ones; तीर्थभूताः (tīrthabhūtāḥ) - become a sacred ford; ते (te) - they; ये (ye) - who; भैक्षम् (bhaikṣam) - alms; उपभुञ्जते (upabhuñjate) - enjoy;]
(Without sense of 'mine', without ego, free from dualities, without possessions, pure ones, become a sacred ford, they who alms enjoy.)
Those who are free from possessiveness, ego, and dualities, who are without possessions, pure, and have become like sacred fords—those who partake of alms—are such as these. (13-111-5)
तत्त्ववित्त्वनहम्बुद्धिस्तीर्थं परममुच्यते। शौचलक्षणमेतत्ते सर्वत्रैवान्ववेक्षणम् ॥१३-१११-६॥
tattvavittva-naham-buddhiḥ tīrthaṃ paramam ucyate। śauca-lakṣaṇam etat te sarvatraiva anvavekṣaṇam ॥13-111-6॥
[तत्त्ववित्त्व (tattvavit-tva) - having the nature of a knower of reality; अनहम्बुद्धि (anaham-buddhi) - absence of ego-consciousness; तीर्थं (tīrthaṃ) - a holy place; परमम् (paramam) - supreme; उच्यते (ucyate) - is said; शौच (śauca) - purity; लक्षणम् (lakṣaṇam) - characteristic; एतत् (etat) - this; ते (te) - for you; सर्वत्र (sarvatra) - everywhere; एव (eva) - indeed; अन्ववेक्षणम् (anvavekṣaṇam) - investigation;]
(Having the nature of a knower of reality and absence of ego-consciousness, the holy place is said to be supreme. This is the characteristic of purity for you—indeed, investigation everywhere.)
The highest holy place is said to be the state where one knows reality and has no sense of ego. This, for you, is the sign of purity: to examine everywhere. (13-111-6)
रजस्तमः सत्त्वमथो येषां निर्धौतमात्मनः। शौचाशौचे न ते सक्ताः स्वकार्यपरिमार्गिणः ॥१३-१११-७॥
rajastamaḥ sattvamatho yeṣāṃ nirdhautamātmanaḥ। śaucāśauce na te saktāḥ svakāryaparimārgiṇaḥ॥13-111-7॥
[रजस् (rajas) - passion; तमः (tamaḥ) - darkness; सत्त्वम् (sattvam) - purity; अथ (atha) - and; येषाम् (yeṣām) - whose; निर्धौत (nirdhauta) - washed away; आत्मनः (ātmanaḥ) - of the self; शौच (śauca) - purity; अशौचे (aśauce) - impurity; न (na) - not; ते (te) - they; सक्ताः (saktāḥ) - attached; स्वकार्य (svakārya) - to own action; परिमार्गिणः (parimārgiṇaḥ) - seekers;]
(Passion, darkness, purity and, whose self is washed away; for purity and impurity, not they attached; to own action seekers.)
Those whose self has been cleansed of passion, darkness, and purity are not attached to purity or impurity; they are seekers of their own work. (13-111-7)
सर्वत्यागेष्वभिरताः सर्वज्ञाः सर्वदर्शिनः। शौचेन वृत्तशौचार्थास्ते तीर्थाः शुचयश्च ते ॥१३-१११-८॥
sarvatyāgeṣv abhiratāḥ sarvajñāḥ sarvadarśinaḥ। śaucena vṛttaśaucārthās te tīrthāḥ śucayaś ca te ॥13-111-8॥
[सर्वत्यागेषु (sarvatyāgeṣu) - in all acts of renunciation; अभिरताः (abhiratāḥ) - devoted;, सर्वज्ञाः (sarvajñāḥ) - all-knowing;, सर्वदर्शिनः (sarvadarśinaḥ) - all-seeing;, शौचेन (śaucena) - by purity;, वृत्तशौचार्थाः (vṛttaśaucārthāḥ) - those whose conduct is for the sake of purity;, ते (te) - they;, तीर्थाः (tīrthāḥ) - holy persons;, शुचयः (śucayaḥ) - the pure ones;, च (ca) - and;, ते (te) - they;]
(In all acts of renunciation devoted, all-knowing, all-seeing; by purity, whose conduct is for the sake of purity, they are holy persons, the pure ones and they.)
Devoted to all forms of renunciation, all-knowing, all-seeing; by purity, whose conduct seeks purity, they are the truly holy and pure individuals. (13-111-8)
नोदकक्लिन्नगात्रस्तु स्नात इत्यभिधीयते। स स्नातो यो दमस्नातः सबाह्याभ्यन्तरः शुचिः ॥१३-१११-९॥
nodakaklinnagātrastu snāta ityabhidhīyate. sa snāto yo damasnātaḥ sabāhyābhyantaraḥ śuciḥ ॥13-111-9॥
[नोदकक्लिन्नगात्रः (na udaka-klinna-gātraḥ) - not water-moistened-body; तु (tu) - but; स्नातः (snātaḥ) - bathed; इति (iti) - thus; अभिधीयते (abhidhīyate) - is called; सः (saḥ) - he; स्नातः (snātaḥ) - bathed; यः (yaḥ) - who; दमस्नातः (dama-snātaḥ) - bathed in self-restraint; सः (saḥ) - he; बाह्याभ्यन्तरः (bāhya-abhyantaraḥ) - external and internal; शुचिः (śuciḥ) - pure;]
(Not (one) with body moistened by water, but (he is) called bathed thus. He (is) bathed who is bathed in self-restraint; he (is) pure externally and internally.)
One is not called bathed merely by having his body moistened with water, but he is called bathed who is bathed in self-restraint; he is pure both externally and internally. (13-111-9)
अतीतेष्वनपेक्षा ये प्राप्तेष्वर्थेषु निर्ममाः। शौचमेव परं तेषां येषां नोत्पद्यते स्पृहा ॥१३-१११-१०॥
atīteṣvanapekṣā ye prāpteṣvartheṣu nirmamāḥ. śaucam eva paraṃ teṣāṃ yeṣāṃ notpadyate spṛhā ॥13-111-10॥
[अतीतेषु (atīteṣu) - in what is past; अनपेक्षा (anapekṣā) - having no expectation; ये (ye) - those who; प्राप्तेषु (prāpteṣu) - in what has been obtained; अर्थेषु (artheṣu) - in objects; निर्ममाः (nirmamāḥ) - without possessiveness; शौचम् (śaucam) - purity; एव (eva) - indeed; परम् (param) - supreme; तेषाम् (teṣām) - of them; येषाम् (yeṣām) - for whom; न (na) - not; उत्पद्यते (utpadyate) - arises; स्पृहा (spṛhā) - desire;]
(Those who have no expectation in what is past, who are without possessiveness in objects that have been obtained, for whom desire does not arise—purity alone is supreme for them.)
For those who have no expectation for things past and are free from possessiveness regarding obtained objects—purity alone is supreme for them, since no longing arises in them. (13-111-10)
प्रज्ञानं शौचमेवेह शरीरस्य विशेषतः। तथा निष्किञ्चनत्वं च मनसश्च प्रसन्नता ॥१३-१११-११॥
prajñānaṁ śaucam-eva-iha śarīrasya viśeṣataḥ। tathā niṣkiñcanatvaṁ ca manasaś-ca prasannatā ॥13-111-11॥
[प्रज्ञानम् (prajñānam) - higher knowledge; शौचम् (śaucam) - purity; एव (eva) - indeed; इह (iha) - here; शरीरस्य (śarīrasya) - of the body; विशेषतः (viśeṣataḥ) - especially; तथा (tathā) - so also; निष्किञ्चनत्वम् (niṣkiñcanatvam) - freedom from attachments; च (ca) - and; मनसः (manasaḥ) - of the mind; च (ca) - and; प्रसन्नता (prasannatā) - serenity;]
(Higher knowledge, purity indeed here of the body especially; so also freedom from attachments and serenity of the mind.)
Above all, higher knowledge and purity are especially characteristic of the body here; likewise, freedom from attachments and serenity belong to the mind. (13-111-11)
वृत्तशौचं मनःशौचं तीर्थशौचं परं हितम्। ज्ञानोत्पन्नं च यच्छौचं तच्छौचं परमं मतम् ॥१३-१११-१२॥
vṛttaśaucaṃ manaḥśaucaṃ tīrthaśaucaṃ paraṃ hitam। jñānotpannaṃ ca yaccaucaṃ taccaucaṃ paramaṃ matam ॥13-111-12॥
[वृत्तशौचं (vṛttaśaucaṃ) - purity of conduct; मनःशौचं (manaḥśaucaṃ) - purity of mind; तीर्थशौचं (tīrthaśaucaṃ) - purity by pilgrimage; परं (paraṃ) - supreme; हितम् (hitam) - beneficial; ज्ञानोत्पन्नं (jñānotpannaṃ) - arising from knowledge; च (ca) - and; यच्छौचं (yaccaucaṃ) - that purity; तच्छौचं (taccaucaṃ) - that purity; परमं (paramaṃ) - highest; मतम् (matam) - is considered;]
(Purity of conduct, purity of mind, purity by pilgrimage is supremely beneficial. And the purity that arises from knowledge, that purity is considered the highest.)
Purity of conduct, of mind, and of pilgrimage are greatly beneficial; but purity arising from knowledge is considered to be the highest. (13-111-12)
मनसाथ प्रदीपेन ब्रह्मज्ञानबलेन च। स्नाता ये मानसे तीर्थे तज्ज्ञाः क्षेत्रज्ञदर्शिनः ॥१३-१११-१३॥
manasātha pradīpena brahmajñānabalena ca। snātā ye mānase tīrthe tajjñāḥ kṣetrajñadarśinaḥ ॥13-111-13॥
[मनसा (manasā) - by the mind; अथ (atha) - and/also; प्रदीपेन (pradīpena) - by the lamp; ब्रह्मज्ञानबलेन (brahmajñānabalena) - by the strength of the knowledge of Brahman; च (ca) - and; स्नाता (snātā) - having bathed; ये (ye) - those who; मानसे (mānase) - in the mental; तीर्थे (tīrthe) - in the sacred ford; तज्ज्ञाः (tajjñāḥ) - knowers of that; क्षेत्रज्ञदर्शिनः (kṣetrajñadarśinaḥ) - those who see the knower of the field;]
(By the mind and by the lamp, and by the strength of the knowledge of Brahman, those who have bathed in the mental sacred ford are knowers of that and seers of the knower of the field.)
Those who, with the mind, with the lamp, and with the strength of the knowledge of Brahman, have bathed in the sacred ford of the mind are knowers of that and seers of the knower of the field. (13-111-13)
समारोपितशौचस्तु नित्यं भावसमन्वितः। केवलं गुणसम्पन्नः शुचिरेव नरः सदा ॥१३-१११-१४॥
samāropitaśaucastu nityaṃ bhāvasamanvitaḥ। kevalaṃ guṇasampannaḥ śucireva naraḥ sadā ॥13-111-14॥
[समारोपितशौचः (samāropitaśaucaḥ) - having apparent purity; तु (tu) - but; नित्यं (nityaṃ) - always; भावसमन्वितः (bhāvasamanvitaḥ) - endowed with real intention; केवलं (kevalaṃ) - only; गुणसम्पन्नः (guṇasampannaḥ) - endowed with virtues; शुचिः (śuciḥ) - pure; एव (eva) - indeed; नरः (naraḥ) - man; सदा (sadā) - always;]
(But one having apparent purity, always endowed with real intention; only a man endowed with virtues is indeed always pure.)
But although a person may have only apparent purity and is always accompanied by true intent, only a virtuous man is truly ever pure. (13-111-14)
शरीरस्थानि तीर्थानि प्रोक्तान्येतानि भारत। पृथिव्यां यानि तीर्थानि पुण्यानि शृणु तान्यपि ॥१३-१११-१५॥
śarīrasthāni tīrthāni proktāny etāni bhārata। pṛthivyāṃ yāni tīrthāni puṇyāni śṛṇu tāny api ॥13-111-15॥
[शरीरस्थानि (śarīrasthāni) - those which are situated in the body; तीर्थानि (tīrthāni) - sacred places; प्रोक्तानि (proktāni) - spoken (of); एतानि (etāni) - these; भारत (bhārata) - O Bhārata; पृथिव्यां (pṛthivyāṃ) - on the earth; यानि (yāni) - which; तीर्थानि (tīrthāni) - sacred places; पुण्यानि (puṇyāni) - meritorious; शृणु (śṛṇu) - hear; तानि (tāni) - those; अपि (api) - also;]
(Those sacred places situated in the body have been spoken, these, O Bhārata. On the earth which sacred, meritorious places, hear those also.)
These sacred places situated in the body have been described, O Bhārata. Now, hear also about those sacred and meritorious places on the earth. (13-111-15)
यथा शरीरस्योद्देशाः शुचयः परिनिर्मिताः। तथा पृथिव्या भागाश्च पुण्यानि सलिलानि च ॥१३-१११-१६॥
yathā śarīrasyoddeśāḥ śucayaḥ parinirmitāḥ। tathā pṛthivyā bhāgāś ca puṇyāni salilāni ca ॥13-111-16॥
[यथा (yathā) - just as; शरीरस्य (śarīrasya) - of the body; उद्देशाः (uddeśāḥ) - regions; शुचयः (śucayaḥ) - pure (ones); परिनिर्मिताः (parinirmitāḥ) - constructed; तथा (tathā) - so; पृथिव्या (pṛthivyā) - of the earth; भागाः (bhāgāḥ) - parts; च (ca) - and; पुण्यानि (puṇyāni) - auspicious (things); सलिलानि (salilāni) - waters; च (ca) - and;]
(Just as of the body regions pure are constructed, so of the earth parts and auspicious things and waters and.)
Just as pure regions are formed in the body, so also are auspicious places and waters on the earth. (13-111-16)
प्रार्थनाच्चैव तीर्थस्य स्नानाच्च पितृतर्पणात्। धुनन्ति पापं तीर्थेषु पूता यान्ति दिवं सुखम् ॥१३-१११-१७॥
prārthanāccaiva tīrthasya snānācca pitṛtarpaṇāt। dhunanti pāpaṃ tīrtheṣu pūtā yānti divaṃ sukham ॥13-111-17॥
[प्रार्थनात् (prārthanāt) - from prayer; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; तीर्थस्य (tīrthasya) - of pilgrimage site; स्नानात् (snānāt) - from bathing; च (ca) - and; पितृतर्पणात् (pitṛ-tarpaṇāt) - from offering to ancestors; धुनन्ति (dhunanti) - they shake off; पापम् (pāpam) - sin; तीर्थेषु (tīrtheṣu) - in pilgrimages; पूताः (pūtāḥ) - purified ones; यान्ति (yānti) - go; दिवम् (divam) - to heaven; सुखम् (sukham) - happiness;]
(From prayer, indeed, and from bathing at pilgrimage sites, and from the offering to ancestors, they shake off sin; in pilgrimages, the purified go to heaven, happiness.)
Through prayer, bathing at holy places, and offerings to the ancestors, people are purified of sin; at holy pilgrimages, the purified go happily to heaven. (13-111-17)
परिग्रहाच्च साधूनां पृथिव्याश्चैव तेजसा। अतीव पुण्यास्ते भागाः सलिलस्य च तेजसा ॥१३-१११-१८॥
parigrahāc ca sādhūnāṁ pṛthivyāś caiva tejasā। atīva puṇyās te bhāgāḥ salilasya ca tejasā ॥13-111-18॥
[परिग्रहात् (parigrahāt) - from the possession; च (ca) - and; साधूनाम् (sādhūnām) - of the virtuous; पृथिव्याः (pṛthivyāḥ) - of the earth; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; तेजसा (tejasā) - by splendor; अतीव (atīva) - extremely; पुण्याः (puṇyāḥ) - meritorious; ते (te) - those; भागाः (bhāgāḥ) - parts; सलिलस्य (salilasya) - of water; च (ca) - and; तेजसा (tejasā) - by splendor;]
(From the possession and of the virtuous and of the earth indeed by splendor; extremely meritorious those parts of water and by splendor.)
The portions of the virtuous, as well as of the earth by its splendor, and the portions of water by its brilliance, are extremely meritorious. (13-111-18)
मनसश्च पृथिव्याश्च पुण्यतीर्थास्तथापरे। उभयोरेव यः स्नातः स सिद्धिं शीघ्रमाप्नुयात् ॥१३-१११-१९॥
manasaś ca pṛthivyāś ca puṇyatīrthās tathā apare| ubhayor eva yaḥ snātaḥ sa siddhiṃ śīghram āpnuyāt ॥13-111-19॥
[मनसः (manasaḥ) - of the mind; च (ca) - and; पृथिव्याः (pṛthivyāḥ) - of the earth; च (ca) - and; पुण्यतीर्थाः (puṇyatīrthāḥ) - sacred bathing places; तथा (tathā) - also; अपरः (apare) - other; उभयोः (ubhayoḥ) - of both; एव (eva) - indeed; यः (yaḥ) - who; स्नातः (snātaḥ) - having bathed; स (sa) - he; सिद्धिम् (siddhim) - success; शीघ्रम् (śīghram) - quickly; आप्नुयात् (āpnuyāt) - may obtain;]
(Of the mind and of the earth, sacred bathing places also other, of both indeed who having bathed, he success quickly may obtain.)
Whoever bathes in the sacred bathing places both of the mind and of the earth, indeed, he may quickly attain success. (13-111-19)
यथा बलं क्रियाहीनं क्रिया वा बलवर्जिता। नेह साधयते कार्यं समायुक्तस्तु सिध्यति ॥१३-१११-२०॥
yathā balaṃ kriyā-hīnaṃ kriyā vā bala-varjitā | neha sādhayate kāryaṃ samāyuktaḥ tu sidhyati ॥13-111-20॥
[यथा (yathā) - just as; in the manner; as; बलं (balaṃ) - strength; क्रियाहीनं (kriyā-hīnaṃ) - devoid of action; क्रिया (kriyā) - action; वा (vā) - or; बलवर्जिता (bala-varjitā) - bereft of strength; नेह (na iha) - not here; साधयते (sādhayate) - accomplishes; कार्यं (kāryaṃ) - task; work; समायुक्तः (samāyuktaḥ) - accompanied (with both); तु (tu) - but; सिध्यति (sidhyati) - succeeds;]
(Just as the strength devoid of action, or action bereft of strength, does not here accomplish the task; but one accompanied (with both) succeeds.)
Just as strength without action, or action without strength, does not accomplish the task here; but one who possesses both succeeds. (13-111-20)
एवं शरीरशौचेन तीर्थशौचेन चान्वितः। ततः सिद्धिमवाप्नोति द्विविधं शौचमुत्तमम् ॥१३-१११-२१॥
evaṁ śarīraśaucena tīrthaśaucena cānvitaḥ। tataḥ siddhim avāpnoti dvividhaṁ śaucam uttamam ॥13-111-21॥
[एवं (evaṁ) - thus; शरीरशौचेन (śarīraśaucena) - by bodily purity; तीर्थशौचेन (tīrthaśaucena) - by sacred-place purity; च (ca) - and; अन्वितः (anvitaḥ) - endowed; ततः (tataḥ) - thereafter; सिद्धिम् (siddhim) - attainment; अवाप्नोति (avāpnoti) - he obtains; द्विविधम् (dvividham) - twofold; शौचम् (śaucam) - purity; उत्तमम् (uttamam) - highest; ॥१३-१११-२१॥ (॥13-111-21॥) - ;]
(Thus, by bodily purity and by sacred-place purity and endowed, thereafter attainment he obtains, twofold purity highest.)
Thus, being endowed with bodily purity and sacred-place purity, thereafter he attains the highest twofold purity. (13-111-21)
