girer himavataḥ pṛṣṭhe muñjavān nāma parvataḥ। tapyate yatra bhagavāṁs tapo nityam umāpatiḥ॥14-8-1॥
[गिरेः (gireḥ) - of the mountain; हिमवतः (himavataḥ) - Himavat; पृष्ठे (pṛṣṭhe) - on the back; मुञ्जवान् (muñjavān) - Muñjavān; नाम (nāma) - by name; पर्वतः (parvataḥ) - mountain; तप्यते (tapyate) - is practiced (he practices austerity); यत्र (yatra) - where; भगवाञ् (bhagavāṁ) - the revered (lord); तपः (tapaḥ) - austerity; नित्यम् (nityam) - constantly; उमापतिः (umāpatiḥ) - the husband of Umā;]
(On the back of the mountain Himavat, there is a mountain named Muñjavān; where the revered husband of Umā constantly practices austerity.)
On the slopes of Mount Himavat stands a mountain called Muñjavān, where Lord Umāpati is ever engaged in austerities. (14-8-1)
वनस्पतीनां मूलेषु टङ्केषु शिखरेषु च। गुहासु शैलराजस्य यथाकामं यथासुखम् ॥१४-८-२॥
vanaspatīnāṃ mūleṣu ṭaṅkeṣu śikhareṣu ca। guhāsu śailarājasya yathākāmaṃ yathāsukham ॥14-8-2॥
[वनस्पतीनां (vanaspatīnāṃ) - of trees; मूलेषु (mūleṣu) - at roots; टङ्केषु (ṭaṅkeṣu) - on summits; शिखरेषु (śikhareṣu) - on peaks; च (ca) - and; गुहासु (guhāsu) - in caves; शैलराजस्य (śailarājasya) - of the king of mountains; यथाकामं (yathākāmaṃ) - as (one) desires; यथासुखम् (yathāsukham) - as (one) pleases;]

उमासहायो भगवान्यत्र नित्यं महेश्वरः। आस्ते शूली महातेजा नानाभूतगणावृतः ॥१४-८-३॥
umāsahāyo bhagavān yatra nityaṁ maheśvaraḥ। āste śūlī mahātejā nānābhūtagaṇāvṛtaḥ॥14-8-3॥
[उमा-सहायः (umā-sahāyaḥ) - Uma's companion; भगवान् (bhagavān) - the glorious one; यत्र (yatra) - where; नित्यम् (nityam) - always; महेश्वरः (maheśvaraḥ) - the great Lord; आस्ते (āste) - remains; शूली (śūlī) - trident-bearer; महातेजाः (mahātejāḥ) - of great splendor; नाना-भूत-गण-अवृतः (nānā-bhūta-gaṇa-āvṛtaḥ) - surrounded by hosts of various beings;]
(Where Uma's companion, the glorious one, always the great Lord, the trident-bearer, of great splendor, surrounded by hosts of various beings, remains.)
Where the glorious Lord Maheśvara, companion of Uma, ever abides as the trident-bearer of great splendor, surrounded by hosts of various beings. (14-8-3)
तत्र रुद्राश्च साध्याश्च विश्वेऽथ वसवस्तथा। यमश्च वरुणश्चैव कुबेरश्च सहानुगः ॥१४-८-४॥
tatra rudrāś ca sādhyāś ca viśve 'tha vasavas tathā| yamaś ca varuṇaś caiva kuberaś ca sahānugaḥ ॥14-8-4॥
[तत्र (tatra) - there; रुद्राः (rudrāḥ) - Rudras; (a class of deities;) च (ca) - and; साध्याः (sādhyāḥ) - Sādhyas; (a class of deities;) च (ca) - and; विश्वे (viśve) - Viśve; (Viśvedevas, a class of deities;) अथ (atha) - and; वसवः (vasavaḥ) - Vasus; (a class of deities;) तथा (tathā) - likewise; यमः (yamaḥ) - Yama; च (ca) - and; वरुणः (varuṇaḥ) - Varuṇa; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; कुबेरः (kuberaḥ) - Kubera; च (ca) - and; सः (saḥ) - he; अनुगः (anugaḥ) - with attendants;]

There were the Rudras, Sādhyas, Viśvedevas, Vasus, as well as Yama, Varuṇa, and Kubera, each with their attendants. (14-8-4)
भूतानि च पिशाचाश्च नासत्यावश्विनावपि। गन्धर्वाप्सरसश्चैव यक्षा देवर्षयस्तथा ॥१४-८-५॥
bhūtāni ca piśācāś ca nāsatyāvaśvināv api। gandharvāpsarasaś caiva yakṣā devarṣayas tathā ॥14-8-5॥

आदित्या मरुतश्चैव यातुधानाश्च सर्वशः। उपासन्ते महात्मानं बहुरूपमुमापतिम् ॥१४-८-६॥
ādityā marutaś caiva yātudhānāś ca sarvaśaḥ। upāsante mahātmānaṃ bahurūpam umāpatim॥14-8-6॥
[आदित्या (ādityāḥ) - solar deities; sons of Aditi; मरुतः (marutaḥ) - storm gods; Maruts; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; यातुधानाः (yātudhānāḥ) - demons; eaters of flesh; च (ca) - and; सर्वशः (sarvaśaḥ) - in all ways; entirely; उपासन्ते (upāsante) - worship; attend; महात्मानम् (mahātmānam) - great-souled one; बहुरूपम् (bahurūpam) - many-formed; of many forms; उमापतिम् (umāpatim) - the husband of Umā; Śiva;]

रमते भगवांस्तत्र कुबेरानुचरैः सह। विकृतैर्विकृताकारैः क्रीडद्भिः पृथिवीपते ॥ श्रिया ज्वलन्दृश्यते वै बालादित्यसमद्युतिः ॥१४-८-७॥
ramate bhagavāṃs tatra kuberānucaraiḥ saha। vikṛtaiḥ vikṛtākāraiḥ krīḍadbhiḥ pṛthivīpate॥ śriyā jvalan dṛśyate vai bālādityasamadyutiḥ॥14-8-7॥
[रमते (ramate) - he delights; भगवान् (bhagavān) - the Blessed Lord; तत्र (tatra) - there; कुबेरानुचरैः (kuberānucaraiḥ) - with attendants of Kubera; सह (saha) - together; विकृतैः (vikṛtaiḥ) - by distorted (ones); विकृताकारैः (vikṛtākāraiḥ) - of distorted form; क्रीडद्भिः (krīḍadbhiḥ) - playing; पृथिवीपते (pṛthivīpate) - O ruler of the earth; श्रिया (śriyā) - with splendor; ज्वलन् (jvalan) - shining; दृश्यते (dṛśyate) - is seen; वै (vai) - indeed; बालादित्यसमद्युतिः (bālādityasamadyutiḥ) - with brightness like the young sun;]
(He delights, the Blessed Lord, there, with attendants of Kubera, together, by distorted (ones), of distorted form, playing, O ruler of the earth. With splendor, shining, is seen, indeed, with brightness like the young sun.)
The Blessed Lord sports there together with Kubera’s attendants, O ruler of the earth, with those of distorted shapes engaged in play. He appears, indeed, shining with splendor, with a brightness equal to that of the rising sun. (14-8-7)
न रूपं दृश्यते तस्य संस्थानं वा कथञ्चन। निर्देष्टुं प्राणिभिः कैश्चित्प्राकृतैर्मांसलोचनैः ॥१४-८-८॥
na rūpaṃ dṛśyate tasya saṃsthānaṃ vā kathaṃcana। nirdeṣṭuṃ prāṇibhiḥ kaiścit prākṛtaiḥ māṃsa-locanaiḥ ॥14-8-8॥
[न (na) - not; रूपं (rūpaṃ) - form; दृश्यते (dṛśyate) - is seen; तस्य (tasya) - of him; संस्थानं (saṃsthānam) - structure; वा (vā) - or; कथञ्चन (kathaṃcana) - in any way; निर्देष्टुं (nirdeṣṭum) - to indicate; प्राणिभिः (prāṇibhiḥ) - by beings; कैश्चित् (kaiścit) - by some; प्राकृतैः (prākṛtaiḥ) - mundane; मांसलोचनैः (māṃsa-locanaiḥ) - with fleshly eyes;]

नोष्णं न शिशिरं तत्र न वायुर्न च भास्करः। न जरा क्षुत्पिपासे वा न मृत्युर्न भयं नृप ॥१४-८-९॥
noṣṇaṁ na śiśiraṁ tatra na vāyur na ca bhāskaraḥ। na jarā kṣutpipāse vā na mṛtyur na bhayaṁ nṛpa॥14-8-9॥
[नोष्णं (noṣṇam) - not hot; न (na) - not; शिशिरं (śiśiram) - cold; तत्र (tatra) - there; न (na) - not; वायुः (vāyuḥ) - wind; न (na) - not; च (ca) - and; भास्करः (bhāskaraḥ) - sun; न (na) - not; जरा (jarā) - old age; क्षुत्पिपासे (kṣutpipāse) - hunger and thirst; वा (vā) - or; न (na) - not; मृत्युः (mṛtyuḥ) - death; न (na) - not; भयम् (bhayam) - fear; नृप (nṛpa) - O king;]

There is neither heat nor cold; there is neither wind nor sun; there is no old age, no hunger or thirst, nor death, nor fear, O king. (14-8-9)
तस्य शैलस्य पार्श्वेषु सर्वेषु जयतां वर। धातवो जातरूपस्य रश्मयः सवितुर्यथा ॥१४-८-१०॥
tasya śailasya pārśveṣu sarveṣu jayatāṃ vara। dhātavo jātarūpasya raśmayaḥ savitur yathā ॥14-8-10॥
[तस्य (tasya) - of that; शैलस्य (śailasya) - of the mountain; पार्श्वेषु (pārśveṣu) - on the sides; सर्वेषु (sarveṣu) - in all; जयतां (jayatām) - of the victorious; वर (vara) - best; धातवः (dhātavaḥ) - ores; जातरूपस्य (jātarūpasya) - of gold; रश्मयः (raśmayaḥ) - rays; सवितुः (savituḥ) - of Savitṛ (the Sun); यथा (yathā) - just as;]
(Of that mountain, on all its sides, O best of the victorious, ores of gold are (spread) just as rays of Savitṛ (the Sun).)
On all sides of that mountain, O best of the victorious, gold ores are found just as the rays of Savitṛ (the Sun) (spread everywhere). (14-8-10)
रक्ष्यन्ते ते कुबेरस्य सहायैरुद्यतायुधैः। चिकीर्षद्भिः प्रियं राजन्कुबेरस्य महात्मनः ॥१४-८-११॥
rakṣyante te kuberasya sahāyairudyatāyudhaiḥ। cikīrṣadbhiḥ priyaṃ rājan kuberasya mahātmanaḥ॥ 14-8-11॥
[रक्ष्यन्ते (rakṣyante) - are protected;’ ते (te) - they;’ कुबेरस्य (kuberasya) - of Kubera;’ सहायैः (sahāyaiḥ) - by the helpers;’ उद्यतायुधैः (udyatāyudhaiḥ) - with weapons raised;’ चिकीर्षद्भिः (cikīrṣadbhiḥ) - desiring to do;’ प्रियम् (priyam) - the favour;’ राजन् (rājan) - O king;’ कुबेरस्य (kuberasya) - of Kubera;’ महात्मनः (mahātmanaḥ) - of the great-souled;’;]
(They are protected by the helpers of Kubera, with weapons raised, desiring to do the favour, O king, of the great-souled Kubera.)

तस्मै भगवते कृत्वा नमः शर्वाय वेधसे। रुद्राय शितिकण्ठाय सुरूपाय सुवर्चसे ॥१४-८-१२॥

कपर्दिने करालाय हर्यक्ष्णे वरदाय च। त्र्यक्ष्णे पूष्णो दन्तभिदे वामनाय शिवाय च ॥१४-८-१३॥
kapardine karālāya haryakṣṇe varadāya ca। tryakṣṇe pūṣṇo dantabhide vāmanāya śivāya ca॥14-8-13॥
[कपर्दिने (kapardine) - to the matted-haired (one); करालाय (karālāya) - to the fierce (one); हर्यक्ष्णे (haryakṣṇe) - to the tawny-eyed (one); वरदाय (varadāya) - to the giver of boons; च (ca) - and; त्र्यक्ष्णे (tryakṣṇe) - to the three-eyed (one); पूष्णो (pūṣṇo) - of Pūṣan; दन्तभिदे (dantabhide) - to the tooth-breaker; वामनाय (vāmanāya) - to the dwarf (one); शिवाय (śivāya) - to the auspicious (one); च (ca) - and;]

yāmyāyāvyaktakeśāya sadvṛtte śaṅkarāya ca। kṣemyāya harinetarāya sthāṇave puruṣāya ca ॥14-8-14॥
[याम्याय (yāmyāya) - to Yāmya (son of Yama); अव्यक्तकेशाय (avyaktakeśāya) - to one with unmanifested hair; सद्वृत्ते (sadvṛtte) - of good conduct; शङ्कराय (śaṅkarāya) - to Śaṅkara; च (ca) - and; क्षेम्याय (kṣemyāya) - to the giver of welfare; हरिनेत्राय (harinetarāya) - to the one with eyes of Hari; स्थाणवे (sthāṇave) - to the firm one; पुरुषाय (puruṣāya) - to the supreme person; च (ca) - and;]

harikeśāya muṇḍāya kṛśāyottāraṇāya ca. bhāskarāya sutīrthāya devadevāya raṃhase ॥14-8-15॥

उष्णीषिणे सुवक्त्राय सहस्राक्षाय मीढुषे। गिरिशाय प्रशान्ताय यतये चीरवाससे ॥१४-८-१६॥
uṣṇīṣiṇe suvaktrāya sahasrākṣāya mīḍhuṣe। giriśāya praśāntāya yataye cīravāsase ॥14-8-16॥
[उष्णीषिणे (uṣṇīṣiṇe) - to the turbaned one; सुवक्त्राय (suvaktrāya) - to the one with a beautiful face; सहस्राक्षाय (sahasrākṣāya) - to the thousand-eyed one; मीढुषे (mīḍhuṣe) - to the bountiful one; गिरिशाय (giriśāya) - to the lord of the mountain; प्रशान्ताय (praśāntāya) - to the tranquil one; यतये (yataye) - to the ascetic; चीरवाससे (cīravāsase) - to the one clothed in bark garments;]

bilvadaṇḍāya siddhāya sarvadaṇḍadharāya ca। mṛgavyādhāya mahate dhanvine'tha bhavāya ca॥14-8-17॥
[बिल्वदण्डाय (bilvadaṇḍāya) - to the one with a staff of Bilva wood; सिद्धाय (siddhāya) - to the accomplished one; सर्वदण्डधराय (sarvadaṇḍadharāya) - to the bearer of every staff; च (ca) - and; मृगव्याधाय (mṛgavyādhāya) - to the hunter of deer; महते (mahate) - to the great one; धन्विने (dhanvine) - to the archer; अथ (atha) - further; भवाय (bhavāya) - to Bhava (Śiva); च (ca) - and;]

वराय सौम्यवक्त्राय पशुहस्ताय वर्षिणे। हिरण्यबाहवे राजन्नुग्राय पतये दिशाम् ॥१४-८-१८॥

पशूनां पतये चैव भूतानां पतये तथा। वृषाय मातृभक्ताय सेनान्ये मध्यमाय च ॥१४-८-१९॥

sruvahastāya pataye dhanvine bhārgavāya ca। ajāya kṛṣṇanetrāya virūpākṣāya caiva ha ॥14-8-20॥

तीक्ष्णदंष्ट्राय तीक्ष्णाय वैश्वानरमुखाय च। महाद्युतयेऽनङ्गाय सर्वाङ्गाय प्रजावते ॥१४-८-२१॥
tīkṣṇadaṃṣṭrāya tīkṣṇāya vaiśvānaramukhāya ca। mahādyutaye'naṅgāya sarvāṅgāya prajāvate ॥14-8-21॥
[तीक्ष्णदंष्ट्राय (tīkṣṇadaṃṣṭrāya) - to the one with sharp fangs; तीक्ष्णाय (tīkṣṇāya) - to the fierce one; वैश्वानरमुखाय (vaiśvānaramukhāya) - to the one whose mouth is fire; च (ca) - and; महाद्युतये (mahādyutaye) - to the greatly radiant one; अनङ्गाय (anaṅgāya) - to the bodiless one; सर्वाङ्गाय (sarvāṅgāya) - to the one with all limbs; प्रजावते (prajāvate) - to the one possessing offspring;]
(To the one with sharp fangs, to the fierce one, to the one whose mouth is fire, and to the greatly radiant one, to the bodiless one, to the one with all limbs, to the one possessing offspring.)

तथा शुक्राधिपतये पृथवे कृत्तिवाससे। कपालमालिने नित्यं सुवर्णमुकुटाय च ॥१४-८-२२॥
tathā śukrādhipataye pṛthave kṛttivāsase। kapālamāline nityaṁ suvarṇamukuṭāya ca ॥14-8-22॥

(Thus, to the lord of Śukra, to Pṛthu, to the wearer of hide, to the one with a garland of skulls, always, to the one with a golden crown, and.)
Thus, to the lord of Śukra, to Pṛthu, to the one clad in hide, to the one adorned with a garland of skulls, ever, and to the one with the golden crown. (14-8-22)
महादेवाय कृष्णाय त्र्यम्बकायानघाय च। क्रोधनाय नृशंसाय मृदवे बाहुशालिने ॥१४-८-२३॥
mahādevāya kṛṣṇāya tryambakāyānaghāya ca | krodhanāya nṛśaṁsāya mṛdave bāhuśāline ॥14-8-23॥

दण्डिने तप्ततपसे तथैव क्रूरकर्मणे। सहस्रशिरसे चैव सहस्रचरणाय च ॥ नमः स्वधास्वरूपाय बहुरूपाय दंष्ट्रिणे ॥१४-८-२४॥
daṇḍine taptatapase tathaiva krūrakarmaṇe। sahasraśirase caiva sahasracaraṇāya ca ॥ namaḥ svadhāsvarūpāya bahurūpāya daṃṣṭriṇe ॥14-8-24॥
[दण्डिने (daṇḍine) - to the punisher; तप्ततपसे (taptatapase) - to the one with intense austerity; तथैव (tathaiva) - likewise; क्रूरकर्मणे (krūrakarmaṇe) - to the performer of fierce actions; सहस्रशिरसे (sahasraśirase) - to the thousand-headed; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; सहस्रचरणाय (sahasracaraṇāya) - to the thousand-footed; च (ca) - and; नमः (namaḥ) - salutations; स्वधास्वरूपाय (svadhāsvarūpāya) - to the one whose form is svadhā (sacrificial oblation); बहुरूपाय (bahurūpāya) - to the multiformed; दंष्ट्रिणे (daṃṣṭriṇe) - to the one with tusks;]
(To the punisher, to the one with intense austerity, likewise to the performer of fierce actions, to the thousand-headed and indeed to the thousand-footed, and to the one whose form is svadhā, to the multiformed, to the one with tusks, salutations.)

[त्रिपुरघ्नं (tripuraghnaṃ) - destroyer of the three cities; त्रिनयनं (trīnayanaṃ) - three-eyed; त्रिलोकेशं (trilokeśaṃ) - lord of the three worlds; महौजसम् (mahaujasaṃ) - of great energy; प्रभवं (prabhavaṃ) - origin; सर्वभूतानां (sarvabhūtānāṃ) - of all beings; धारणं (dhāraṇaṃ) - support; धरणीधरम् (dharaṇīdharam) - the supporter of the earth;]

विरूपाक्षं दशभुजं तिष्यगोवृषभध्वजम्। उग्रं स्थाणुं शिवं घोरं शर्वं गौरीशमीश्वरम् ॥१४-८-२८॥
virūpākṣaṁ daśabhujaṁ tiṣyagovṛṣabhadhvajam। ugraṁ sthāṇuṁ śivaṁ ghoraṁ śarvaṁ gaurīśamīśvaram ॥14-8-28॥
[विरूपाक्षं (virūpākṣam) - the one with odd or multi-formed eyes; दशभुजं (daśabhujam) - having ten arms; तिष्यगोवृषभध्वजम् (tiṣya-govṛṣabha-dhvajam) - having the bull Nandi as his banner, born under the star Tiṣya; उग्रं (ugram) - fierce; स्थाणुं (sthāṇum) - the steadfast (immovable); शिवं (śivam) - auspicious; घोरं (ghoram) - terrible; शर्वं (śarvam) - destructive; गौरीशम् (gaurīśam) - lord of Gaurī; ईश्वरम् (īśvaram) - the lord;]
(The one with odd eyes, ten-armed, having the bull Nandi as his banner and born under Tiṣya, fierce, steadfast, auspicious, terrible, destructive, lord of Gaurī, lord.)
He who has multi-formed eyes, ten arms, the bull-bannered born under the star Tiṣya, fierce, immovable, auspicious, terrible, destructive, lord of Gaurī and supreme lord. (14-8-28)
शितिकण्ठमजं शुक्रं पृथुं पृथुहरं हरम्। विश्वरूपं विरूपाक्षं बहुरूपमुमापतिम् ॥१४-८-२९॥
śitikaṇṭham ajaṃ śukraṃ pṛthuṃ pṛthuharaṃ haram। viśvarūpaṃ virūpākṣaṃ bahurūpam umāpatim ॥14-8-29॥
[शितिकण्ठम् (śitikaṇṭham) - the one with a blue throat; अजम् (ajam) - unborn; शुक्रम् (śukram) - pure; पृथुम् (pṛthum) - broad (vast); पृथुहरम् (pṛthuharam) - wide-destroyer; हरम् (haram) - the remover; विश्वरूपम् (viśvarūpam) - having the form of the universe; विरूपाक्षम् (virūpākṣam) - having uneven (wonderful) eyes; बहुरूपम् (bahurūpam) - multiform; उमापतिम् (umāpatim) - consort of Umā;]
(the one with a blue throat, unborn, pure, vast, wide-destroyer, remover, having the form of the universe, having uneven eyes, multiform, consort of Umā.)
The one with a blue throat, who is unborn, pure, vast, the destroyer of the wide (evil), the remover, who has the form of the universe, the one with peculiar eyes, of many forms, and the husband of Umā. (14-8-29)
प्रणम्य शिरसा देवमनङ्गाङ्गहरं हरम्। शरण्यं शरणं याहि महादेवं चतुर्मुखम् ॥१४-८-३०॥
praṇamya śirasā devam-anaṅgāṅgaharam haram। śaraṇyaṃ śaraṇaṃ yāhi mahādevaṃ caturmukham॥14-8-30॥
[प्रणम्य (praṇamya) - having bowed; शिरसा (śirasā) - with (one's) head; देवम् (devam) - the god; अनङ्गाङ्गहरम् (anaṅgāṅgaharam) - destroyer of Kama’s (love-god’s) body; हरम् (haram) - Hara (Śiva); शरण्यम् (śaraṇyam) - who is a refuge; शरणम् (śaraṇam) - refuge; याहि (yāhi) - go; महादेवं (mahādevaṃ) - the great god; चतुर्मुखम् (caturmukham) - four-faced;]
(Having bowed with (your) head to the god, the destroyer of Kama’s body, Hara, who is refuge, go (to) the great god, four-faced.)

एवं कृत्वा नमस्तस्मै महादेवाय रंहसे। महात्मने क्षितिपते तत्सुवर्णमवाप्स्यसि ॥ सुवर्णमाहरिष्यन्तस्तत्र गच्छन्तु ते नराः ॥१४-८-३१॥
evaṃ kṛtvā namas tasmai mahādevāya raṃhase। mahātmane kṣitipate tat suvarṇam avāpsyasi ॥ suvarṇam āhariṣyantas tatra gacchantu te narāḥ ॥14-8-31॥
[एवं (evaṃ) - thus; कृत्वा (kṛtvā) - having done; नमः (namas) - obeisance; तस्मै (tasmai) - to him; महादेवाय (mahādevāya) - to Mahadeva; रंहसे (raṃhase) - to the swift; महात्मने (mahātmane) - to the great-souled; क्षितिपते (kṣitipate) - O king; तत् (tat) - that; सुवर्णम् (suvarṇam) - gold; अवाप्स्यसि (avāpsyasi) - you will obtain; सुवर्णम् (suvarṇam) - gold; आहरिष्यन्तः (āhariṣyantaḥ) - those who will bring; तत्र (tatra) - there; गच्छन्तु (gacchantu) - let them go; ते (te) - those; नराः (narāḥ) - men;]
(Thus having done, making obeisance to him, to Mahadeva, to the swift, to the great-souled, O king, that gold you will obtain. Gold, those who will bring it, there let those men go.)
Having thus done, offering obeisance to him, to Mahadeva, the swift and great-souled one, you will obtain that gold, O king. Let your men who are to bring the gold go there. (14-8-31)

इत्युक्तः स वचस्तस्य चक्रे कारन्धमात्मजः। ततोऽतिमानुषं सर्वं चक्रे यज्ञस्य संविधिम् ॥ सौवर्णानि च भाण्डानि सञ्चक्रुस्तत्र शिल्पिनः ॥१४-८-३२॥
ity-uktaḥ sa vacas tasya cakre kārandham-ātmajaḥ। tato'timānuṣaṃ sarvaṃ cakre yajñasya saṃvidhim॥ sauvarṇāni ca bhāṇḍāni sañcakrus tatra śilpinaḥ॥14-8-32॥
[इति (iti) - thus; उक्तः (uktaḥ) - addressed; स (sa) - he; वचः (vacas) - word; तस्य (tasya) - his; चक्रे (cakre) - performed; कारन्धमात्मजः (kārandham-ātmajaḥ) - the son of Kārandhama; ततः (tataḥ) - then; अतिमानुषम् (atimānuṣam) - superhuman; सर्वम् (sarvam) - all; चक्रे (cakre) - performed; यज्ञस्य (yajñasya) - of the sacrifice; संविधिम् (saṃvidhim) - arrangement; सौवर्णानि (sauvarṇāni) - made of gold; च (ca) - and; भाण्डानि (bhāṇḍāni) - vessels; सञ्चक्रुः (sañcakruḥ) - they made; तत्र (tatra) - there; शिल्पिनः (śilpinaḥ) - craftsmen;]
(Thus addressed, he performed his word, the son of Kārandhama. Then all the superhuman arrangements for the sacrifice he performed. And the craftsmen there made vessels of gold.)

बृहस्पतिस्तु तां श्रुत्वा मरुत्तस्य महीपतेः। समृद्धिमति देवेभ्यः सन्तापमकरोद्भृशम् ॥१४-८-३३॥
bṛhaspatistu tāṃ śrutvā maruttasya mahīpateḥ। samṛddhimati devebhyaḥ santāpamakarodbhṛśam ॥14-8-33॥
[बृहस्पतिः (bṛhaspatiḥ) - Bṛhaspati; (the name of the sage, preceptor of the gods); तु (tu) - but; however; तां (tāṃ) - her; that (object, feminine); श्रुत्वा (śrutvā) - having heard; मरुत्तस्य (maruttasya) - of Marutta; (proper name); महीपतेः (mahīpateḥ) - of the king; (literally, lord of the earth; genitive singular); समृद्धिमति (samṛddhimati) - abundance-possessing; (in possession of prosperity); देवेभ्यः (devebhyaḥ) - for the gods; (dative plural); सन्तापम् (santāpam) - distress; affliction; अकरोत् (akarot) - (he) made; (did; causative verb); भृशम् (bhṛśam) - exceedingly; intensely;]
(But Bṛhaspati, having heard that of Marutta the king, for the gods in possession of abundance, made affliction exceedingly.)
But Bṛhaspati, upon hearing that from King Marutta, caused great distress to the prosperous gods. (14-8-33)
स तप्यमानो वैवर्ण्यं कृशत्वं चागमत्परम्। भविष्यति हि मे शत्रुः संवर्तो वसुमानिति ॥१४-८-३४॥
sa tapyamānaḥ vaivarṇyaṃ kṛśatvaṃ ca āgamat param। bhaviṣyati hi me śatruḥ saṃvartaḥ vasumān iti ॥14-8-34॥
[स (sa) - he; तप्यमानः (tapyamānaḥ) - being afflicted; वैवर्ण्यं (vaivarṇyaṃ) - paleness; कृशत्वं (kṛśatvaṃ) - emaciation; च (ca) - and; आगमत् (āgamat) - attained; परम् (param) - extreme; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will become; हि (hi) - indeed; मे (me) - to me; शत्रुः (śatruḥ) - enemy; संवर्तः (saṃvartaḥ) - Saṃvarta (proper name); वसुमान् (vasumān) - Vasumān (proper name); इति (iti) - thus;]
(He being afflicted, paleness, emaciation and extreme (forms) attained. Will become indeed to me enemy Saṃvarta Vasumān thus.)
He, afflicted, became extremely pale and emaciated. "Indeed, Saṃvarta will become my enemy Vasumān"—thus (he thought). (14-8-34)
तं श्रुत्वा भृशसन्तप्तं देवराजो बृहस्पतिम्। अभिगम्यामरवृतः प्रोवाचेदं वचस्तदा ॥१४-८-३५॥
taṃ śrutvā bhṛśasantaptaṃ devarājo bṛhaspatim। abhigamyāmaravṛtaḥ provācedaṃ vacastadā ॥14-8-35॥
[तं (taṃ) - him; श्रुत्वा (śrutvā) - having heard; भृशसन्तप्तं (bhṛśasantaptaṃ) - greatly afflicted; देवराजः (devarājaḥ) - the king of the gods; बृहस्पतिम् (bṛhaspatim) - Bṛhaspati; अभिगम्य (abhigamya) - having approached; अमरवृतः (amaravṛtaḥ) - accompanied by the immortals; प्रोवाच (provāca) - said; इदं (idaṃ) - this; वचः (vacaḥ) - speech; तदा (tadā) - then;]
