सैवं विलप्य करुणं सोन्मादेव तपस्विनी। उत्तरा न्यपतद्भूमौ कृपणा पुत्रगृद्धिनी ॥१४-६८-१॥
saivaṁ vilapya karuṇaṁ sonmādeva tapasvinī। uttarā nyapatad bhūmau kṛpaṇā putragṛddhinī ॥14-68-1॥
[सा (sā) - she; एवं (evaṁ) - thus; विलप्य (vilapya) - having lamented; करुणं (karuṇam) - pitiably; with sorrow; सः-उन्मदा-इव (saḥ-unmadā-iva) - like one bereft of sense; तपस्विनी (tapasvinī) - the ascetic woman; उत्तरा (uttarā) - Uttara; न्यपतत् (nyapatat) - fell down; भूमौ (bhūmau) - on the ground; कृपणा (kṛpaṇā) - wretched; पुत्रगृद्धिनी (putragṛddhinī) - longing for her son;]
(She thus, having lamented pitiably, like one insane, the ascetic woman Uttara, fell down on the ground, wretched, longing for her son.)
Thus, after lamenting piteously like one mad, the ascetic woman Uttara, grieving deeply for her son, collapsed wretchedly onto the ground. (14-68-1)
तां तु दृष्ट्वा निपतितां हतबन्धुपरिच्छदाम्। चुक्रोश कुन्ती दुःखार्ता सर्वाश्च भरतस्त्रियः ॥१४-६८-२॥
tāṃ tu dṛṣṭvā nipatitāṃ hatabandhuparicchadām। cukrośa kuntī duḥkhārtā sarvāś ca bharatastriyaḥ॥14-68-2॥
[तां (tāṃ) - her; तु (tu) - but; दृष्ट्वा (dṛṣṭvā) - having seen; निपतितां (nipatitām) - fallen; हतबन्धुपरिच्छदाम् (hatabandhuparicchadām) - whose kin and attendants are slain; चुक्रोश (cukrośa) - cried out; कुन्ती (kuntī) - Kunti; दुःखार्ता (duḥkhārtā) - afflicted with grief; सर्वाः (sarvāḥ) - all; च (ca) - and; भरतस्त्रियः (bharatastriyaḥ) - women of the Bharatas;]
(Her but having seen fallen, whose kin and attendants are slain, cried out Kunti, afflicted with grief, and all the women of the Bharatas.)
But when she saw her fallen, whose kin and attendants were slain, Kunti cried out in grief, and so did all the women of the Bharata lineage. (14-68-2)
मुहूर्तमिव तद्राजन्पाण्डवानां निवेशनम्। अप्रेक्षणीयमभवदार्तस्वरनिनादितम् ॥१४-६८-३॥

(Like a moment, that abode of the Pāṇḍavas, O king, became unfit to be seen, resounded with distressed cries.)
O king, that abode of the Pāṇḍavas, in a moment, became unfit to be seen and was filled with cries of distress. (14-68-3)
सा मुहूर्तं च राजेन्द्र पुत्रशोकाभिपीडिता। कश्मलाभिहता वीर वैराटी त्वभवत्तदा ॥१४-६८-४॥
sā muhūrtaṃ ca rājendra putraśokābhipīḍitā। kaśmalābhihatā vīra vairāṭī tvabhavattadā ॥14-68-4॥
[सा (sā) - she; मुहूर्तं (muhūrtaṃ) - for a moment; च (ca) - and; राजेन्द्र (rājendra) - O king; पुत्रशोक-अभिपीडिता (putraśoka-abhipīḍitā) - afflicted by grief for her son; कश्मल-अभिहता (kaśmala-abhihatā) - overcome by faintness; वीर (vīra) - hero; वैराटी (vairāṭī) - the princess of Virāṭa; त्व (tv) - indeed; अभवत् (abhavat) - became; तदा (tadā) - then;]
(She for a moment also, O king, afflicted by grief for her son, overcome by faintness, O hero, the princess of Virāṭa indeed became then.)
O king, the princess of Virāṭa, afflicted with grief for her son and overcome by faintness, became thus for a moment at that time. (14-68-4)
प्रतिलभ्य तु सा सञ्ज्ञामुत्तरा भरतर्षभ। अङ्कमारोप्य तं पुत्रमिदं वचनमब्रवीत् ॥१४-६८-५॥
pratilabhya tu sā sañjñām uttarā bharatarṣabha। aṅkam āropya taṃ putram idaṃ vacanam abravīt ॥14-68-5॥
[प्रतिलभ्य (pratilabhya) - having regained; (from pra + labh, to obtain); तु (tu) - but; सा (sā) - she; सञ्ज्ञाम् (sañjñām) - consciousness; उत्तरा (uttarā) - Uttarā (proper noun, name); भरतर्षभ (bharatarṣabha) - O bull among the Bharatas; अङ्कम् (aṅkam) - lap; आरोप्य (āropya) - having placed; तं (tam) - him; पुत्रम् (putram) - son; इदं (idaṃ) - this; वचनम् (vacanam) - word; अब्रवीत् (abravīt) - she spoke;]
(Having regained consciousness but, she Uttarā, O bull among the Bharatas, having placed him, the son, on (her) lap, this word she spoke.)
But having regained consciousness, Uttarā, O bull among the Bharatas, placed her son on her lap and spoke these words. (14-68-5)
धर्मज्ञस्य सुतः संस्त्वमधर्ममवबुध्यसे। यस्त्वं वृष्णिप्रवीरस्य कुरुषे नाभिवादनम् ॥१४-६८-६॥
dharmajñasya sutaḥ saṃstvamadharmaṃ avabudhyase. yaḥ tvaṃ vṛṣṇi-pravīrasya kuruṣe na abhivādanam ॥14-68-6॥
[धर्मज्ञस्य (dharmajñasya) - of the knower of dharma; सुतः (sutaḥ) - the son; सं (saṃ) - indeed; त्वम् (tvam) - you; अधर्मम् (adharmaṃ) - unrighteousness; अवबुध्यसे (avabudhyase) - you understand; यः (yaḥ) - who; त्वम् (tvam) - you; वृष्णिप्रवीरस्य (vṛṣṇipravīrasya) - of the chief hero of the Vṛṣṇis; कुरुषे (kuruṣe) - you do; न (na) - not; अभिवादनम् (abhivādanam) - greeting;]
(Of the knower of dharma (you are) the son, indeed you understand unrighteousness. Who you, of the Vṛṣṇi chief hero, you do not do greeting.)
You are the son of the knower of dharma, yet you recognize unrighteousness. You, who do not offer greeting to the chief hero of the Vṛṣṇis. (14-68-6)
पुत्र गत्वा मम वचो ब्रूयास्त्वं पितरं तव। दुर्मरं प्राणिनां वीर काले प्राप्ते कथञ्चन ॥१४-६८-७॥
putra gatvā mama vaco brūyās tvaṃ pitaraṃ tava। durmaraṃ prāṇināṃ vīra kāle prāpte kathaṃcana ॥14-68-7॥
[पुत्र (putra) - son; गत्वा (gatvā) - having gone; मम (mama) - my; वचः (vacaḥ) - message; ब्रूयाः (brūyās) - you should speak; त्वम् (tvaṃ) - you; पितरं (pitaraṃ) - to father; तव (tava) - your; दुर्मरं (durmaraṃ) - hard to endure; प्राणिनां (prāṇināṃ) - of living beings; वीर (vīra) - O hero; काले (kāle) - when time; प्राप्ते (prāpte) - has arrived; कथञ्चन (kathaṃcana) - in whatever way;]
(Son, having gone, my message you should speak, you, to your father, O hero; hard to endure is, of living beings, when time has arrived, in whatever way.)
Son, go and tell my message to your father, O hero: for living beings, when the destined time arrives, it is hard to endure, in whatever way. (14-68-7)
याहं त्वया विहीनाद्य पत्या पुत्रेण चैव ह। मर्तव्ये सति जीवामि हतस्वस्तिरकिञ्चना ॥१४-६८-८॥
yāhaṃ tvayā vihīnādy patyā putreṇa caiva ha। martavye sati jīvāmi hatasvastirakiñcanā ॥14-68-8॥
[या (yā) - who; अहम् (aham) - I; त्वया (tvayā) - by you; विहीना (vihīnā) - deprived; अद्य (adya) - today; पत्या (patyā) - by the husband; पुत्रेण (putreṇa) - by the son; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; ह (ha) - surely; मर्तव्ये (martavye) - for dying; सति (sati) - though being; जीवामि (jīvāmi) - I live; हतस्वस्ति (hatasvasti) - with fortune destroyed; अकिञ्चना (akiñcanā) - possessing nothing;]
(Who I, by you deprived, today — by husband, by son and indeed surely — for dying though being, I live, with fortune destroyed, possessing nothing.)
I, who today am deprived by you of both husband and son, though destined to die, continue to live, my fortune destroyed, possessing nothing. (14-68-8)
अथ वा धर्मराज्ञाहमनुज्ञाता महाभुज। भक्षयिष्ये विषं तीक्ष्णं प्रवेक्ष्ये वा हुताशनम् ॥१४-६८-९॥
atha vā dharmarājñāhamanujñātā mahābhuja। bhakṣayiṣye viṣaṃ tīkṣṇaṃ pravekṣye vā hutāśanam ॥14-68-9॥
[अथ (atha) - then; वा (vā) - or; धर्मराज्ञा (dharmarājñā) - by the king Dharma (Yama); अहम् (aham) - I; अनुज्ञाता (anujñātā) - permitted; महाभुज (mahābhuja) - O mighty-armed; भक्षयिष्ये (bhakṣayiṣye) - shall eat; विषं (viṣaṃ) - poison; तीक्ष्णं (tīkṣṇaṃ) - sharp; प्रवेक्ष्ये (pravekṣye) - shall enter; वा (vā) - or; हुताशनम् (hutāśanam) - (the) fire (sacrificial);]
(Then or by the king Dharma I permitted, O mighty-armed, I shall eat poison sharp, or shall enter fire.)
Or, if permitted by Dharmaraja, O mighty-armed one, I shall either consume deadly poison or enter the fire. (14-68-9)
अथ वा दुर्मरं तात यदिदं मे सहस्रधा। पतिपुत्रविहीनाया हृदयं न विदीर्यते ॥१४-६८-१०॥
atha vā durmaraṁ tāta yad idaṁ me sahasradhā. patiputravihīnāyā hṛdayaṁ na vidīryate ॥14-68-10॥
[अथ (atha) - then; वा (vā) - or; दुर्मरं (durmaraṁ) - hard to bear; तात (tāta) - O dear one; यत् (yat) - that which; इदं (idaṁ) - this; मे (me) - my; सहस्रधा (sahasradhā) - into a thousand pieces; पतिपुत्रविहीनाया (patiputravihīnāyā) - bereft of husband and son; हृदयं (hṛdayaṁ) - heart; न (na) - not; विदीर्यते (vidīryate) - is split;]
(Then or hard to bear, O dear one, that this my into a thousand pieces, bereft of husband and son, heart not is split.)
Or else, O dear one, it is hard to bear that my heart, bereft of husband and son, is not split into a thousand pieces. (14-68-10)
उत्तिष्ठ पुत्र पश्येमां दुःखितां प्रपितामहीम्। आर्तामुपप्लुतां दीनां निमग्नां शोकसागरे ॥१४-६८-११॥
uttiṣṭha putra paśyemāṃ duḥkhitāṃ prapitāmahīm। ārtāmupaplutāṃ dīnāṃ nimagnāṃ śokasāgare ॥14-68-11॥
[उत्तिष्ठ (uttiṣṭha) - arise; पुत्र (putra) - son; पश्य (paśya) - see; इमां (imāṃ) - this; दुःखितां (duḥkhitāṃ) - afflicted by sorrow; प्रपितामहीम् (prapitāmahīm) - great-grandmother; आर्ताम् (ārtām) - distressed; उपप्लुताम् (upaplutām) - overwhelmed; दीनाम् (dīnām) - helpless; निमग्नाम् (nimagnām) - immersed; शोकसागरे (śokasāgare) - in the ocean of grief;]
(Arise, son, see this sorrow-afflicted great-grandmother, distressed, overwhelmed, helpless, immersed in the ocean of grief.)
Arise, my son, behold this great-grandmother, afflicted with sorrow, distressed, overwhelmed, helpless, and sunk in the ocean of grief. (14-68-11)
आर्यां च पश्य पाञ्चालीं सात्वतीं च तपस्विनीम्। मां च पश्य सुदुःखार्तां व्याधविद्धां मृगीमिव ॥१४-६८-१२॥
āryāṃ ca paśya pāñcālīṃ sātvatīṃ ca tapasvinīm। māṃ ca paśya suduḥkhārtāṃ vyādhaviddhāṃ mṛgīm iva ॥14-68-12॥
[आर्यां (āryāṃ) - noble lady; च (ca) - and; पश्य (paśya) - see; पाञ्चालीं (pāñcālīṃ) - Panchali (Draupadi); सात्वतीं (sātvatīṃ) - Satyavati; च (ca) - and; तपस्विनीम् (tapasvinīm) - ascetic woman; मां (māṃ) - me; च (ca) - and; पश्य (paśya) - see; सुदुःखार्तां (suduḥkhārtāṃ) - greatly afflicted by sorrow; व्याधविद्धां (vyādhaviddhāṃ) - wounded by a hunter; मृगीम् (mṛgīm) - doe (female deer); इव (iva) - like;]
(And see the noble lady and Panchali and Satyavati, the ascetic woman; and see me, greatly afflicted by sorrow, wounded by a hunter, like a doe.)
Look upon the noble lady, Panchali, and Satyavati, the ascetic woman; and look upon me, greatly anguished and struck down like a doe wounded by a hunter. (14-68-12)
उत्तिष्ठ पश्य वदनं लोकनाथस्य धीमतः। पुण्डरीकपलाशाक्षं पुरेव चपलेक्षणम् ॥१४-६८-१३॥
uttiṣṭha paśya vadanaṃ lokanāthasya dhīmataḥ। puṇḍarīkapalāśākṣaṃ pureva capalekṣaṇam ॥14-68-13॥
[उत्तिष्ठ (uttiṣṭha) - arise; पश्य (paśya) - see; वदनं (vadanaṃ) - face; लोकनाथस्य (lokanāthasya) - of the lord of the people; धीमतः (dhīmataḥ) - wise; पुण्डरीकपलाशाक्षं (puṇḍarīkapalāśākṣam) - having eyes like lotus petals; पुरा (purā) - as before; इव (iva) - like; चपल-ईक्षणम् (capala-īkṣaṇam) - with restless glance;]
(Arise, see the face of the lord of the people, the wise one, having eyes like lotus petals, as before, like (having) a restless glance.)
Arise, see the face of the wise lord of the people, whose eyes are like lotus petals, with a restless glance as before. (14-68-13)
एवं विप्रलपन्तीं तु दृष्ट्वा निपतितां पुनः। उत्तरां ताः स्त्रियः सर्वाः पुनरुत्थापयन्त्युत ॥१४-६८-१४॥
evaṁ vipralapantīṁ tu dṛṣṭvā nipatitāṁ punaḥ। uttarāṁ tāḥ striyaḥ sarvāḥ punar utthāpayanty uta॥14-68-14॥
[एवं (evaṁ) - thus; in this manner; विप्रलपन्तीं (vipralapantīm) - deliriously speaking; uttering incoherent words; (acc. sg. fem. of vipralapantī); तु (tu) - but; दृष्ट्वा (dṛṣṭvā) - having seen; निपतितां (nipatitāṁ) - fallen; collapsed; (acc. sg. fem. of nipatitā); पुनः (punaḥ) - again; उत्तरां (uttarāṁ) - Uttarā (proper name, acc. sg. fem.); ताः (tāḥ) - they; those (fem. nom. pl.); स्त्रियः (striyaḥ) - women; (nom. pl. fem. of strī); सर्वाः (sarvāḥ) - all; (nom. pl. fem. of sarvā); पुनः (punaḥ) - again; उत्थापयन्ति (utthāpayanti) - cause to rise; raise up; (3rd pl. pres. act. caus. of ut√sthā); उत (uta) - indeed; verily;]
(Thus, but having seen the deliriously speaking (person), having fallen again, Uttarā those women all again indeed cause to rise.)
But thus, seeing Uttarā who had fallen down while speaking deliriously, all those women again raised her up. (14-68-14)
उत्थाय तु पुनर्धैर्यात्तदा मत्स्यपतेः सुता। प्राञ्जलिः पुण्डरीकाक्षं भूमावेवाभ्यवादयत् ॥१४-६८-१५॥
utthāya tu punar dhairyāt tadā matsyapateḥ sutā। prāñjaliḥ puṇḍarīkākṣaṁ bhūmāvaivābhyavādayat ॥14-68-15॥
[उत्थाय (utthāya) - having risen; तु (tu) - but; पुनः (punar) - again; धैर्यात् (dhairyāt) - due to courage; तदा (tadā) - then; मत्स्यपतेः (matsyapateḥ) - of the king of the Matsyas; सुताः (sutā) - daughter; प्राञ्जलिः (prāñjaliḥ) - with folded hands; पुण्डरीकाक्षम् (puṇḍarīkākṣam) - the lotus-eyed one; भूमौ एव (bhūmau eva) - on the ground itself; अभ्यवादयत् (abhyavādayat) - she saluted;]
(Having risen but again due to courage then the daughter of the king of the Matsyas, with folded hands, the lotus-eyed one, on the ground itself, she saluted.)
But then, having again gained courage, the daughter of the king of the Matsyas, with folded hands, saluted the lotus-eyed one by bowing to the ground. (14-68-15)
श्रुत्वा स तस्या विपुलं विलापं पुरुषर्षभः। उपस्पृश्य ततः कृष्णो ब्रह्मास्त्रं सञ्जहार तत् ॥१४-६८-१६॥
śrutvā sa tasyā vipulaṃ vilāpaṃ puruṣarṣabhaḥ। upaspṛśya tataḥ kṛṣṇo brahmāstraṃ sañjahāra tat ॥14-68-16॥
[श्रुत्वा (śrutvā) - having heard; स (sa) - he; तस्या (tasyā) - her; विपुलं (vipulaṃ) - great; विलापं (vilāpaṃ) - lamentation; पुरुषर्षभः (puruṣarṣabhaḥ) - the best among men; उपस्पृश्य (upaspṛśya) - having touched (with water, i.e., having purified himself); ततः (tataḥ) - then; कृष्णः (kṛṣṇaḥ) - Kṛṣṇa; ब्रह्मास्त्रं (brahmāstraṃ) - the Brahmāstra weapon; सञ्जहार (sañjahāra) - withdrew; तत् (tat) - that;]
(Having heard her great lamentation, he, the best among men, having purified himself, then Kṛṣṇa withdrew that Brahmāstra weapon.)

प्रतिजज्ञे च दाशार्हस्तस्य जीवितमच्युतः। अब्रवीच्च विशुद्धात्मा सर्वं विश्रावयञ्जगत् ॥१४-६८-१७॥
pratijajñe ca dāśārhas tasya jīvitam acyutaḥ। abravīc ca viśuddhātmā sarvaṃ viśrāvayan jagat ॥14-68-17॥
[प्रतिजज्ञे (pratijajñe) - he promised; च (ca) - and; दाशार्हः (dāśārhaḥ) - the descendant of the Daśāraha (Kṛṣṇa); तस्य (tasya) - his; जीवितम् (jīvitam) - life; अच्युतः (acyutaḥ) - Acyuta (Kṛṣṇa); अब्रवीत् (abravīt) - spoke; च (ca) - and; विशुद्धात्मा (viśuddhātmā) - the pure-souled one; सर्वम् (sarvam) - everything; विश्रावयन् (viśrāvayan) - proclaiming; जगत् (jagat) - to the world;]
(He promised, and the descendant of the Daśāraha (Kṛṣṇa), his life, Acyuta; and the pure-souled one spoke, proclaiming everything to the world.)
Kṛṣṇa (the Daśāraha, Acyuta) promised his own life, and the pure-souled one declared everything openly to the world. (14-68-17)
न ब्रवीम्युत्तरे मिथ्या सत्यमेतद्भविष्यति। एष सञ्जीवयाम्येनं पश्यतां सर्वदेहिनाम् ॥१४-६८-१८॥
na bravīmyuttare mithyā satyam etad bhaviṣyati. eṣa sañjīvayāmy enaṃ paśyatāṃ sarva-dehinām ॥14-68-18॥
[न (na) - not; ब्रवीमि (bravīmi) - I say; उत्तरे (uttare) - in reply; मिथ्या (mithyā) - falsely; सत्यम् (satyam) - truly; एतद् (etad) - this; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will be; एष (eṣa) - this (person); सञ्जीवयामि (sañjīvayāmi) - I cause to come to life; एनम् (enam) - him; पश्यताम् (paśyatām) - (as) those who are seeing; सर्वदेहिनाम् (sarva-dehinām) - of all embodied beings;]
(Not I say in reply falsely, truly this will be. This (person) I cause to come to life, him, as those who are seeing, of all embodied beings.)
I do not speak falsely in reply; this is true—it shall happen. I will restore him to life before the eyes of all embodied beings. (14-68-18)
नोक्तपूर्वं मया मिथ्या स्वैरेष्वपि कदाचन। न च युद्धे परावृत्तस्तथा सञ्जीवतामयम् ॥१४-६८-१९॥
noktapūrvaṃ mayā mithyā svaireṣv api kadācana. na ca yuddhe parāvṛttas tathā sañjīvatām ayam ॥14-68-19॥
[नोक्तपूर्वं (noktapūrvaṃ) - never before spoken; मया (mayā) - by me; मिथ्या (mithyā) - falsehood; स्वैरेषु (svaireṣu) - among pleasures; अपि (api) - even; कदाचन (kadācana) - at any time; न (na) - not; च (ca) - and; युद्धे (yuddhe) - in battle; परावृत्तः (parāvṛttaḥ) - turned back; तथा (tathā) - thus; सञ्जीवताम् (sañjīvatām) - among the living; अयम् (ayam) - this;]
(Never before by me was falsehood spoken even among pleasures at any time. Nor in battle turned back thus among the living, this.)
I have never before spoken falsehood, not even in pleasures at any time; nor has this one ever turned back in battle thus among the living. (14-68-19)
यथा मे दयितो धर्मो ब्राह्मणाश्च विशेषतः। अभिमन्योः सुतो जातो मृतो जीवत्वयं तथा ॥१४-६८-२०॥
yathā me dayito dharmo brāhmaṇāś ca viśeṣataḥ। abhimanyoḥ suto jāto mṛto jīvatv ayaṁ tathā॥14-68-20॥
[यथा (yathā) - just as; मे (me) - for me; दयितः (dayitaḥ) - dear; धर्मः (dharmaḥ) - dharma; ब्राह्मणाः (brāhmaṇāḥ) - brāhmaṇas; च (ca) - and; विशेषतः (viśeṣataḥ) - especially; अभिमन्योः (abhimanyoḥ) - of Abhimanyu; सुतः (sutaḥ) - son; जातः (jātaḥ) - born; मृतः (mṛtaḥ) - dead; जीवत् (jīvat) - alive; अयम् (ayam) - this; तथा (tathā) - in the same way;]
(Just as, for me, dear is dharma, and the brāhmaṇas especially, so may the son of Abhimanyu, though dead, be born alive, in this way.)
Just as dharma and especially the brāhmaṇas are dear to me, so too may this son of Abhimanyu, though dead, be born alive (14-68-20).
यथाहं नाभिजानामि विजयेन कदाचन। विरोधं तेन सत्येन मृतो जीवत्वयं शिशुः ॥१४-६८-२१॥
yathāhaṃ nābhijānāmi vijayena kadācana। virodhaṃ tena satyena mṛto jīvatv ayaṃ śiśuḥ॥14-68-21॥
[यथा (yathā) - just as; as; in what way; अहम् (aham) - I; न (na) - not; अभिजानामि (abhijānāmi) - I know; I recognize; विजयेन (vijayena) - by victory; through triumph; कदाचन (kadācana) - ever; at any time; विरोधं (virodham) - opposition; enmity; तेन (tena) - by that; with that; सत्येन (satyena) - by truth; with truth; मृतः (mṛtaḥ) - dead; जीवतु (jīvatv) - let live; may live; अयम् (ayam) - this; शिशुः (śiśuḥ) - child;]
(As I do not know in any way enmity by victory, by that truth, let this dead child live.)

(Just as Kaṁsa and Keśī were slain by me through righteousness, by that truth may this boy again live here.)

[इत्युक्तः (ity-uktaḥ) - thus spoken; वासुदेवेन (vāsudevena) - by Vāsudeva; सः (saḥ) - he; बालः (bālaḥ) - boy; भरतर्षभ (bharatarṣabha) - O best of the Bharatas; शनैः शनैः (śanaiḥ śanaiḥ) - slowly, slowly; महाराज (mahārāja) - O great king; प्रास्पन्दत (prāspandata) - began to move; सचेतनः (sacetanaḥ) - with consciousness;]
(Thus spoken by Vāsudeva, he boy O best of the Bharatas, slowly, slowly, O great king, began to move, with consciousness.)
