पितामहस्य मे यज्ञे धर्मपुत्रस्य धीमतः। यदाश्चर्यमभूत्किञ्चित्तद्भवान्वक्तुमर्हति ॥१४-९२-१॥
pitāmahasya me yajñe dharmaputrasya dhīmataḥ। yad āścaryam abhūt kiñcit tad bhavān vaktum arhati॥14-92-1॥
[पितामहस्य (pitāmahasya) - of the grandsire; मे (me) - to me; यज्ञे (yajñe) - in the sacrifice; धर्मपुत्रस्य (dharmaputrasya) - of the son of Dharma; धीमतः (dhīmataḥ) - of the wise; यत् (yat) - which; आश्चर्यम् (āścaryam) - wonder; अभूत् (abhūt) - was; किञ्चित् (kiñcit) - something; तत् (tat) - that; भवान् (bhavān) - you; वक्तुम् (vaktum) - to speak; अर्हति (arhati) - are worthy;]
(Of the grandsire, to me, in the sacrifice, of the son of Dharma, of the wise, which wonder was something, that you to speak are worthy.)
Whatever wondrous thing happened in the sacrifice of the wise son of Dharma, O revered one, you are worthy to speak of that to me. (14-92-1)

(Let it be heard, O tiger among kings, the great excellent wonder, which occurred at the horse sacrifice, at the great sacrifice, when completed, O mighty one.)
O noble king, listen to the great and excellent wonder that happened, O mighty one, when the great horse sacrifice was completed. (14-92-2)
तर्पितेषु द्विजाग्र्येषु ज्ञातिसम्बन्धिबन्धुषु। दीनान्धकृपणे चापि तदा भरतसत्तम ॥१४-९२-३॥
tarpiteṣu dvijāgryeṣu jñātisambandhibandhuṣu। dīnāndhakṛpaṇe cāpi tadā bharatasattama ॥14-92-3॥
[तर्पितेषु (tarpiteṣu) - having been satisfied; (in) those who are satisfied; द्विजाग्र्येषु (dvijāgryeṣu) - in the foremost of twice-born; ज्ञातिसम्बन्धिबन्धुषु (jñātisambandhibandhuṣu) - among relatives, kinsmen and friends; दीन (dīna) - destitute; अन्धकृपणे (andhakṛpaṇe) - blind and miserable; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; तदा (tadā) - then; भरतसत्तम (bharatasattama) - O best of the Bharatas;]
(In those who were satisfied, in the foremost of twice-born, among relatives, kinsmen and friends, and also the destitute, blind, and miserable, then, O best of the Bharatas.)
O best of the Bharatas, then (offerings) were made to the satisfied ones, the foremost of twice-born, among relatives, kinsmen, friends, and also to the destitute, the blind, and the miserable. (14-92-3)
घुष्यमाणे महादाने दिक्षु सर्वासु भारत। पतत्सु पुष्पवर्षेषु धर्मराजस्य मूर्धनि ॥१४-९२-४॥
ghuṣyamāṇe mahādāne dikṣu sarvāsu bhārata। patatsu puṣpavarṣeṣu dharmarājasya mūrdhani ॥14-92-4॥
[घुष्यमाणे (ghuṣyamāṇe) - being proclaimed; महादाने (mahādāne) - during the great gift; दिक्षु (dikṣu) - in the directions; सर्वासु (sarvāsu) - in all; भारत (bhārata) - O Bhārata; पतत्सु (patatsu) - falling; पुष्पवर्षेषु (puṣpavarṣeṣu) - in the showers of flowers; धर्मराजस्य (dharmarājasya) - of Dharmarāja; मूर्धनि (mūrdhani) - on the head;]
(When the great gift was being proclaimed in all the directions, O Bhārata, and as showers of flowers were falling on the head of Dharmarāja.)
O Bhārata, while the great charity was being announced in all directions and showers of flowers were falling upon the head of Dharmarāja. (14-92-4)
बिलान्निष्क्रम्य नकुलो रुक्मपार्श्वस्तदानघ। वज्राशनिसमं नादममुञ्चत विशां पते ॥१४-९२-५॥
bilānniṣkramya nakulo rukmapārśvastadānagha। vajrāśanisamaṃ nādamamuñcata viśāṃ pate ॥14-92-5॥
[बिलात् (bilāt) - from the hole; निष्क्रम्य (niṣkramya) - having come out; नकुलः (nakulaḥ) - mongoose; रुक्मपार्श्वः (rukmapārśvaḥ) - having golden sides; तदा (tadā) - then; अनघ (anagha) - O sinless one; वज्राशनिसमम् (vajrāśanisamam) - equal to thunderbolt and thunder; नादम् (nādam) - sound; अमुञ्चत् (amuñcat) - uttered; विशां पते (viśāṃ pate) - O lord of men;]
(From the hole, having come out, the mongoose having golden sides then, O sinless one, a sound equal to thunderbolt and thunder uttered, O lord of men.)
O lord of men, then, the mongoose with golden sides emerged from the hole and uttered a sound equal to the thunderbolt and thunder, O sinless one. (14-92-5)
सकृदुत्सृज्य तं नादं त्रासयानो मृगद्विजान्। मानुषं वचनं प्राह धृष्टो बिलशयो महान् ॥१४-९२-६॥
sakṛd utsṛjya taṃ nādaṃ trāsayāno mṛga-dvijān। mānuṣaṃ vacanaṃ prāha dhṛṣṭaḥ bila-śayo mahān॥14-92-6॥
[सकृत् (sakṛt) - once; उत्सृज्य (utsṛjya) - having let go; having emitted; तं (taṃ) - that; नादम् (nādam) - sound; roar; त्रासयानः (trāsayānaḥ) - causing to frighten; terrifying; मृगद्विजान् (mṛga-dvijān) - beasts and birds; मानुषम् (mānuṣam) - human; वचनम् (vacanam) - speech; word; प्राह (prāha) - said; spoke; धृष्टः (dhṛṣṭaḥ) - bold; audacious; बिलशयः (bila-śayaḥ) - who dwells in a hole; cave-dweller; महान् (mahān) - great;]
(Once, having emitted that sound, terrifying beasts and birds, human speech he spoke, the bold, great cave-dweller.)
Once, having uttered that sound and frightening the beasts and birds, the great and bold cave-dweller spoke human words. (14-92-6)
सक्तुप्रस्थेन वो नायं यज्ञस्तुल्यो नराधिपाः। उञ्छवृत्तेर्वदान्यस्य कुरुक्षेत्रनिवासिनः ॥१४-९२-७॥
saktuprasthena vo nāyaṃ yajñastulyo narādhipāḥ। uñchavṛtter vadānyasya kurukṣetranivāsinaḥ ॥14-92-7॥
[सक्तुप्रस्थेन (saktuprasthena) - by a measure of parched grain; वः (vo) - for you (plural); न (na) - not; अयम् (ayam) - this; यज्ञः (yajñaḥ) - sacrifice; तुल्यः (tulyaḥ) - equal; नराधिपाः (narādhipāḥ) - O kings; उञ्छवृत्तेः (uñchavṛtteḥ) - of one living by gleaning; वदान्यस्य (vadānyasya) - of the generous one; कुरुक्षेत्रनिवासिनः (kurukṣetranivāsinaḥ) - of the inhabitant of Kurukṣetra;]
(By a measure of parched grain for you, not this sacrifice is equal, O kings, of one living by gleaning, of the generous one, of the inhabitant of Kurukṣetra.)
O kings, for you, this sacrifice is not equal to a measure of parched grain offered by the generous one who lives by gleaning, the inhabitant of Kurukṣetra. (14-92-7)
तस्य तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा नकुलस्य विशां पते। विस्मयं परमं जग्मुः सर्वे ते ब्राह्मणर्षभाः ॥१४-९२-८॥
tasya tadvacanaṃ śrutvā nakulasya viśāṃ pate। vismayaṃ paramaṃ jagmuḥ sarve te brāhmaṇarṣabhāḥ ॥14-92-8॥
[तस्य (tasya) - of him; तद्वचनं (tadvacanam) - those words; श्रुत्वा (śrutvā) - having heard; नकुलस्य (nakulasya) - of Nakula; विशां पते (viśāṃ pate) - O lord of men; विस्मयं (vismayam) - amazement; परमं (paramam) - great; जग्मुः (jagmuḥ) - attained; सर्वे (sarve) - all; ते (te) - they; ब्राह्मणर्षभाः (brāhmaṇarṣabhāḥ) - the foremost among Brāhmaṇas;]
(Of him those words having heard, of Nakula, O lord of men, great amazement attained all they the foremost among Brāhmaṇas.)
O lord of men, having heard those words of Nakula, all those foremost among Brāhmaṇas were greatly astonished. (14-92-8)
ततः समेत्य नकुलं पर्यपृच्छन्त ते द्विजाः। कुतस्त्वं समनुप्राप्तो यज्ञं साधुसमागमम् ॥१४-९२-९॥
tataḥ sametya nakulaṃ paryapṛcchanta te dvijāḥ। kutastvaṃ samanuprāpto yajñaṃ sādhu-samāgamam॥14-92-9॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - thereafter; समेत्य (sametya) - having approached; नकुलं (nakulaṃ) - Nakulam; पर्यपृच्छन्त (paryapṛcchanta) - they asked; ते (te) - those; द्विजाः (dvijāḥ) - twice-born ones; Brahmins; कुतः (kutaḥ) - from where; त्वं (tvaṃ) - you; समनुप्राप्तः (samanuprāptaḥ) - have come; यज्ञं (yajñam) - sacrifice; साधुसमागमम् (sādhu-samāgamam) - good company;]
(Thereafter, having approached Nakula, those twice-born (Brahmins) asked: "From where you have come to the sacrifice and to this good company?")
Then, having approached Nakula, those Brahmins asked him, "From where have you come to this sacrifice and the good assembly?" (14-92-9)
किं बलं परमं तुभ्यं किं श्रुतं किं परायणम्। कथं भवन्तं विद्याम यो नो यज्ञं विगर्हसे ॥१४-९२-१०॥
kiṁ balaṁ paramaṁ tubhyaṁ kiṁ śrutaṁ kiṁ parāyaṇam। kathaṁ bhavantaṁ vidyāma yo no yajñaṁ vigarhase ॥14-92-10॥
[किं (kiṁ) - what; बलं (balaṁ) - power; परमं (paramaṁ) - supreme; तुभ्यं (tubhyaṁ) - to you; किं (kiṁ) - what; श्रुतं (śrutam) - that which is heard; किं (kiṁ) - what; परायणम् (parāyaṇam) - refuge; final aim; कथं (kathaṁ) - how; भवन्तं (bhavantaṁ) - you (respectful); विद्याम (vidyāma) - may (we) know; यः (yaḥ) - who; नः (naḥ) - to us; यज्ञं (yajñam) - sacrifice; विगर्हसे (vigarhase) - you censure;]
(What supreme power to you? What that is heard? What is the final refuge? How may we know you, who censure for us the sacrifice?)
What is your supreme power? What knowledge do you possess? What is your highest refuge? How can we know you, who find fault with our sacrifice? (14-92-10)
अविलुप्यागमं कृत्स्नं विधिज्ञैर्याजकैः कृतम्। यथागमं यथान्यायं कर्तव्यं च यथाकृतम् ॥१४-९२-११॥
avilupyāgamaṃ kṛtsnaṃ vidhijñairyājakaiḥ kṛtam। yathāgamaṃ yathānyāyaṃ kartavyaṃ ca yathākṛtam ॥14-92-11॥
[अविलुप्य (avilupya) - without violating; without omitting; आगमं (āgamaṃ) - scripture; authoritative text; कृत्स्नं (kṛtsnam) - entire; complete; विधिज्ञैः (vidhijñaiḥ) - by those who know the procedure; by experts in the rules; याजकैः (yājakaiḥ) - by the sacrificers; by priests; कृतम् (kṛtam) - done; performed; यथा (yathā) - as; according to; आगमं (āgamaṃ) - scripture; authoritative text; यथा (yathā) - as; according to; अन्यायं (anyāyaṃ) - method; rule; कर्तव्यम् (kartavyam) - should be done; is to be accomplished; च (ca) - and; यथा (yathā) - as; according to; कृतम् (kṛtam) - performed; done;]
(Without violating the scripture, the entire (ritual) was performed by the rule-knowing priests. As (prescribed) in the scripture, as by the rule, and as (it was) performed, it should be done.)
The entire ritual, without violating the scriptural authority, was performed by the learned priests. It should be done as prescribed by scripture, as per the proper method, and as it was previously performed. (14-92-11)
पूजार्हाः पूजिताश्चात्र विधिवच्छास्त्रचक्षुषा। मन्त्रपूतं हुतश्चाग्निर्दत्तं देयममत्सरम् ॥१४-९२-१२॥
pūjārhāḥ pūjitāś cātra vidhivac chāstra-cakṣuṣā | mantra-pūtaṃ hutaś cāgnir dattaṃ deyam amatsaram ॥14-92-12॥
[पूजार्हाः (pūjārhāḥ) - worthy of worship; पूजिताः (pūjitāḥ) - having been worshipped; च (ca) - and; अत्र (atra) - here; विधिवत् (vidhivat) - according to procedure; शास्त्रचक्षुषा (śāstra-cakṣuṣā) - with the eye of scripture; मन्त्रपूतम् (mantra-pūtam) - purified by mantra; हुतः (hutaḥ) - offered (into the fire); च (ca) - and; अग्निः (agniḥ) - fire; दत्तम् (dattam) - that which is given; देयम् (deyam) - to be given; अमत्सरम् (amatsaram) - without malice;]
(Those worthy of worship, having been worshipped here, according to procedure, with the eye of scripture; purified by mantra, the fire having been offered, that which is given is to be given without malice.)
Here, those worthy of worship, when worshipped according to proper procedure and with scriptural insight, and when offerings are purified by mantras and consigned to the fire, what is to be given should be given without malice. (14-92-12)
तुष्टा द्विजर्षभाश्चात्र दानैर्बहुविधैरपि। क्षत्रियाश्च सुयुद्धेन श्राद्धैरपि पितामहाः ॥१४-९२-१३॥
tuṣṭā dvijarṣabhāś cātra dānair bahuvidhair api। kṣatriyāś ca suyuddhena śrāddhair api pitāmahāḥ ॥14-92-13॥
[तुष्टा (tuṣṭāḥ) - contented; satisfied; द्विजर्षभाः (dvijarṣabhāḥ) - the best of the twice-born; eminent Brāhmaṇas; च (ca) - and; अत्र (atra) - here; दानैः (dānaiḥ) - with gifts; by charities; बहुविधैः (bahuvidhaiḥ) - of many kinds; various sorts; अपि (api) - also; even; क्षत्रियाः (kṣatriyāḥ) - the kṣatriyas; warriors; च (ca) - and; सुयुद्धेन (suyuddhena) - by good battle; through proper combat; श्राद्धैः (śrāddhaiḥ) - by śrāddhas; funeral offerings; अपि (api) - also; even; पितामहाः (pitāmahāḥ) - forefathers; ancestors;]
(Contented, the best of the twice-born here, by gifts of many kinds also. The kṣatriyas also by good battle and by śrāddhas, the ancestors.)
Here, the eminent Brāhmaṇas are satisfied by various gifts, and the ancestors of kṣatriyas by noble battles and funeral offerings. (14-92-13)
पालनेन विशस्तुष्टाः कामैस्तुष्टा वरस्त्रियः। अनुक्रोशैस्तथा शूद्रा दानशेषैः पृथग्जनाः ॥१४-९२-१४॥
pālanena viśastuṣṭāḥ kāmaistuṣṭā varastriyaḥ। anukrośaistathā śūdrā dānaśeṣaiḥ pṛthagjanāḥ॥14-92-14॥
[पालनेन (pālanena) - by protection; विशः (viśaḥ) - the people (of the community); तुष्टाः (tuṣṭāḥ) - are satisfied; कामैः (kāmaiḥ) - by desires (being fulfilled); तुष्टाः (tuṣṭāḥ) - are satisfied; वरस्त्रियः (varastriyaḥ) - excellent women; अनुक्रोशैः (anukrośaiḥ) - by compassion; तथा (tathā) - likewise; शूद्राः (śūdrāḥ) - śūdras (servant class); दानशेषैः (dānaśeṣaiḥ) - by the remnants of gifts (charity); पृथग्जनाः (pṛthagjanāḥ) - other people;]
(By protection, the people are satisfied; by the fulfillment of desires, excellent women are satisfied; likewise, by compassion, śūdras (servant class); by the remnants of gifts, other people.)

ज्ञातिसम्बन्धिनस्तुष्टाः शौचेन च नृपस्य नः। देवा हविर्भिः पुण्यैश्च रक्षणैः शरणागताः ॥१४-९२-१५॥
jñātisambandhinastuṣṭāḥ śaucena ca nṛpasya naḥ। devā havirbhiḥ puṇyaiśca rakṣaṇaiḥ śaraṇāgatāḥ ॥14-92-15॥
[ज्ञातिसम्बन्धिनः (jñātisambandhinaḥ) - relatives and allies; तुष्टाः (tuṣṭāḥ) - are pleased; शौचेन (śaucena) - by purity; च (ca) - and; नृपस्य (nṛpasya) - of the king; नः (naḥ) - our; देवाः (devāḥ) - the gods; हविर्भिः (havirbhiḥ) - by oblations; पुण्यैः (puṇyaiḥ) - by meritorious acts; च (ca) - and; रक्षणैः (rakṣaṇaiḥ) - by protections; शरणागताः (śaraṇāgatāḥ) - those who have taken refuge;]
(Relatives and allies are pleased by the king's purity and our (actions); the gods, by meritorious oblations and protections, are those who have taken refuge.)

यदत्र तथ्यं तद्ब्रूहि सत्यसन्ध द्विजातिषु। यथाश्रुतं यथादृष्टं पृष्टो ब्राह्मणकाम्यया ॥१४-९२-१६॥
yad atra tathyaṁ tad brūhi satyasaṅdha dvijātiṣu। yathāśrutaṁ yathādṛṣṭaṁ pṛṣṭo brāhmaṇakām yayā ॥14-92-16॥
[यत् (yat) - which; अत्र (atra) - here; तथ्यं (tathyaṁ) - truth; तत् (tat) - that; ब्रूहि (brūhi) - speak; सत्यसन्ध (satyasaṅdha) - truth-abiding; द्विजातिषु (dvijātiṣu) - among twice-born; यथा (yathā) - as; श्रुतं (śrutam) - heard; यथा (yathā) - as; दृष्टं (dṛṣṭam) - seen; पृष्टः (pṛṣṭaḥ) - asked; ब्राह्मण काम्यया (brāhmaṇa-kām yayā) - with desire (for) the Brāhmaṇa;]
(Which here truth, that speak, truth-abiding among twice-born. As heard, as seen, (when) asked with desire for the Brāhmaṇa.)
Speak here whatever is the truth, O truth-abiding one among the twice-born. As you have heard, as you have seen, (when) asked out of desire for the Brāhmaṇa. (14-92-16)
श्रद्धेयवाक्यः प्राज्ञस्त्वं दिव्यं रूपं बिभर्षि च। समागतश्च विप्रैस्त्वं तत्त्वतो वक्तुमर्हसि ॥१४-९२-१७॥
śraddheya-vākyaḥ prājñas tvaṃ divyaṃ rūpaṃ bibharṣi ca। samāgataś ca viprais tvaṃ tattvato vaktum arhasi ॥14-92-17॥
[श्रद्धेयवाक्यः (śraddheya-vākyaḥ) - whose words are to be trusted; प्राज्ञः (prājñaḥ) - wise one; त्वं (tvaṃ) - you; दिव्यं (divyaṃ) - divine; रूपं (rūpaṃ) - form; बिभर्षि (bibharṣi) - bear; च (ca) - and; समागतः (samāgataḥ) - assembled (come together); च (ca) - and; विप्रैः (vipraiḥ) - with (the) Brāhmaṇas; त्वं (tvaṃ) - you; तत्त्वतः (tattvataḥ) - truly; in reality; वक्तुम् (vaktum) - to speak; अर्हसि (arhasi) - are fit (to);]
(Whose words are to be trusted, wise one, you divine form bear and; assembled and with Brāhmaṇas, you truly to speak are fit.)
O wise one whose words are trustworthy, you possess a divine form; and as you have come together with the Brāhmaṇas, you are fit to speak the truth in reality. (14-92-17)
इति पृष्टो द्विजैस्तैः स प्रहस्य नकुलोऽब्रवीत्। नैषानृता मया वाणी प्रोक्ता दर्पेण वा द्विजाः ॥१४-९२-१८॥
iti pṛṣṭo dvijais taiḥ sa prahasya nakulo'bravīt। naiṣā'nṛtā mayā vāṇī proktā darpeṇa vā dvijāḥ॥14-92-18॥

(Thus, being asked by those twice-born, he, having smiled, Nakula said: "Not this false by me speech uttered from pride or, O twice-born." (14-92-18))
Thus, when questioned by those twice-born, Nakula, smiling, said: "This speech was not uttered falsely by me, nor was it spoken out of pride, O twice-born." (14-92-18)
यन्मयोक्तमिदं किञ्चिद्युष्माभिश्चाप्युपश्रुतम्। सक्तुप्रस्थेन वो नायं यज्ञस्तुल्यो नराधिपाः ॥ उञ्छवृत्तेर्वदान्यस्य कुरुक्षेत्रनिवासिनः ॥१४-९२-१९॥
yan mayoktam idaṃ kiñcid yuṣmābhiś cāpy upaśrutam। saktuprasthena vo nāyaṃ yajñas tulyo narādhipāḥ॥ uñchavṛtter vadānyasya kurukṣetranivāsinaḥ॥14-92-19॥
[यत् (yat) - which; that; मया (mayā) - by me; उक्तम् (uktam) - spoken; इदं (idaṃ) - this; किञ्चित् (kiñcit) - something; युष्माभिः (yuṣmābhiḥ) - by you (plural); च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; उपश्रुतम् (upaśrutam) - heard; सक्तुप्रस्थेन (saktuprasthena) - with a measure of parched grain; वः (vo) - to you; for you; न (na) - not; अयम् (ayam) - this; यज्ञः (yajñaḥ) - sacrifice; तुल्यः (tulyaḥ) - equal; नराधिपाः (narādhipāḥ) - O lords of men; उञ्छवृत्तेः (uñchavṛtteḥ) - of one living by gleaning; वदान्यस्य (vadānyasya) - of the generous one; कुरुक्षेत्रनिवासिनः (kurukṣetranivāsinaḥ) - residing in Kurukṣetra;]
(Which by me spoken this something by you also heard, with a measure of parched grain, for you not this sacrifice equal, O lords of men, of one living by gleaning, of the generous one, residing in Kurukṣetra.)
O lords of men, this act of offering you a measure of parched grain, which I have spoken of and which you also have heard, is not equal to the sacrifice performed by the generous person living by gleaning in Kurukṣetra. (14-92-19)
इत्यवश्यं मयैतद्वो वक्तव्यं द्विजपुङ्गवाः। शृणुताव्यग्रमनसः शंसतो मे द्विजर्षभाः ॥१४-९२-२०॥
ity avaśyaṁ mayaitadvo vaktavyaṁ dvijapuṅgavāḥ। śṛṇutāvyagramanasaḥ śaṁsato me dvijarṣabhāḥ॥14-92-20॥
[इति (iti) - thus; अवश्यम् (avaśyam) - certainly; मया (mayā) - by me; एतत् (etat) - this; वः (vaḥ) - to you (plural); वक्तव्यम् (vaktavyam) - is to be spoken; द्विजपुङ्गवाः (dvijapuṅgavāḥ) - O best of twice-born (Brahmins); शृणुत (śṛṇuta) - listen; अव्यग्रमनसः (avyagra-manasah) - with undistracted minds; शंसतः (śaṁsataḥ) - while speaking; मे (me) - by me; द्विजर्षभाः (dvijaṛṣabhāḥ) - O bulls among the twice-born;]
(Thus certainly by me this to you is to be spoken, O best of twice-born. Listen with undistracted minds to me speaking, O bulls among the twice-born.)
Therefore this certainly must be told by me to you, O foremost of Brahmins. Listen attentively and without distraction to my narration, O greatest among the twice-born. (14-92-20)
अनुभूतं च दृष्टं च यन्मयाद्भुतमुत्तमम्। उञ्छवृत्तेर्यथावृत्तं कुरुक्षेत्रनिवासिनः ॥१४-९२-२१॥
anubhūtaṃ ca dṛṣṭaṃ ca yan mayād-bhutam uttamam। uñchavṛtter yathāvṛttaṃ kurukṣetranivāsinaḥ ॥14-92-21॥
[अनुभूतं (anubhūtaṃ) - experienced; च (ca) - and; दृष्टं (dṛṣṭaṃ) - seen; च (ca) - and; यत् (yat) - which; मया (mayā) - by me; अद्भुतम् (adbhutam) - wonderful; उत्तमम् (uttamam) - excellent; उञ्छवृत्तेः (uñchavṛtteḥ) - of the gleaner's mode of life; यथावृत्तम् (yathāvṛttam) - just as it happened; कुरुक्षेत्रनिवासिनः (kurukṣetranivāsinaḥ) - of the inhabitant of Kurukṣetra;]
(Experienced and seen and which by me wonderful, excellent; of the gleaner's mode of life, just as it happened, of the inhabitant of Kurukṣetra.)
I have told, just as it happened, the most wonderful and excellent things experienced and seen by me regarding the gleaner's mode of life of the inhabitant of Kurukṣetra. (14-92-21)
स्वर्गं येन द्विजः प्राप्तः सभार्यः ससुतस्नुषः। यथा चार्धं शरीरस्य ममेदं काञ्चनीकृतम् ॥१४-९२-२२॥
svargaṃ yena dvijaḥ prāptaḥ sabhāryaḥ sasutasnuṣaḥ। yathā cārdhaṃ śarīrasya mamedaṃ kāñcanīkṛtam ॥14-92-22॥
[स्वर्गं (svargaṃ) (svargaṃ) - heaven; येन (yena) (yena) - by whom; द्विजः (dvijaḥ) (dvijaḥ) - the twice-born (Brahmin); प्राप्तः (prāptaḥ) (prāptaḥ) - attained; सभार्यः (sabhāryaḥ) (sabhāryaḥ) - with wife; ससुतस्नुषः (sasutasnuṣaḥ) (sasutasnuṣaḥ) - with son and daughter-in-law; यथा (yathā) (yathā) - just as; च (ca) (ca) - and; अर्धं (ardhaṃ) (ardhaṃ) - half; शरीरस्य (śarīrasya) (śarīrasya) - of the body; मम (mama) (mama) - of mine; इदं (idaṃ) (idaṃ) - this; काञ्चनीकृतम् (kāñcanīkṛtam) (kāñcanīkṛtam) - has been made golden;]
(Heaven by whom the twice-born attained, with wife, with son and daughter-in-law; just as also half of the body of mine, this has been made golden (14-92-22))
By whom the twice-born, along with his wife, son, and daughter-in-law, attained heaven, just as half of my body has become golden—this is so. (14-92-22)
