Vaisesika Sūtras
10.2 Summary
The effects of all kinds, including forms and action inheres in the cause. The conjunction of these causes has resulted in what we see and what we can't see. The application of what is seen and purposeful, in the presence of the unseen, is for prosperity. Thus comes the authority of scriptural declarations.
In a substance, the cause is so called due to the inherence of the effect. Or due to conjunction. In the cause inheres action. Similarly, forms inhere in the same object as the cause. The cloth is due to conjunction of causes that inheres. And due to inherence of the cause in the cause. The specific quality of fire arises from the conjunction of inherences. The application of what is seen and purposeful, in the presence of the unseen, is for prosperity. Thus comes the authority of scriptural declarations.
