Yōga Sūtra 1.31
दुःखदौर्मनस्याङ्गमेजयत्वश्वासप्रश्वासा विक्षेपसहभुवः।
duḥkhadaurmanasyāṅgamējayatvaśvāsapraśvāsā vikṣēpasahabhuvaḥ।
[दुःख दौर्मनस्य अङ्गमेजयत्व श्वास प्रश्वासा विक्षेप सह भुवः।
duḥkha = sorrow; daurmanasya = weakness of mind; aṅgamējayatva = trembling of limbs; śvāsa = inhalation; praśvāsā = exhalation; vikṣēpa = distraction; saha = along with; bhuvaḥ = occurs;]
Sorrow, weakness of mind, trembling, fast breathing, and distraction accompany (the disturbances of consciousness).
Inhalation and exhalation here refer to fast breathing resulting from mental disturbance.
