यथाभिमतध्यानाद्वा।

Such is the opinion on meditation as well (apart from the results of prānāyāma described so far).

Till now Patanjali was describing the results of prānāyāma. Now he says such is the opinion on meditation as well. Here clear distinction between prānāyāma, and dhyana is not given. Same is addressed in the next section.

ॐ असतो मा सद्गमय। तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय। मृत्योर्माऽमृतं गमय। ॐ शान्ति: शान्ति: शान्ति: ॥ - बृहदारण्यकोपनिषद् 1.3.28
