यथा तेन पिता मह्यं पूर्वं दग्धो विषाग्निना। तथाहमपि तं पापं दग्धुमिच्छामि पन्नगम् ॥१-४७-५॥
yathā tena pitā mahyaṃ pūrvaṃ dagdho viṣāgninā| tathāhamapi taṃ pāpaṃ dagdhumicchāmi pannagam ॥1-47-5॥

(As by him my father was previously burned by poison-fire, so I also wish to burn that sinful serpent.)

(The performer of that sacrifice is none other than you, O king. Thus said the Puranic scholars, and that sacrifice is ours.)
The Puranic scholars declared that you, O king, are the sole performer of that sacrifice, and indeed, that sacrifice belongs to us.

(Thus spoken, the royal sage thought that the serpent Takshaka had indeed entered the blazing fire-mouthed one, O best one.)

ततोऽब्रवीन्मन्त्रविदस्तान्राजा ब्राह्मणांस्तदा। आहरिष्यामि तत्सत्रं सम्भाराः सम्भ्रियन्तु मे ॥१-४७-९॥
tato'bravīn mantravidastān rājā brāhmaṇāṃs tadā। āhariṣyāmi tatsatraṃ sambhārāḥ sambhriyantu me ॥1-47-9॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; अब्रवीत् (abravīt) - said; मन्त्रविदः (mantravidaḥ) - knowers of mantras; तान् (tān) - them; राजा (rājā) - king; ब्राह्मणान् (brāhmaṇān) - Brahmins; तदा (tadā) - then; आहरिष्यामि (āhariṣyāmi) - I will bring; तत् (tat) - that; सत्रम् (satram) - sacrifice; सम्भाराः (sambhārāḥ) - materials; सम्भ्रियन्तु (sambhriyantu) - be prepared; मे (me) - my;]
(Then the king said to those knowers of mantras, the Brahmins, "I will bring that sacrifice; let the materials be prepared for me.")
