तमिन्द्रः प्राह सुप्रीतो न तवास्तीह तक्षक। भयं नागेन्द्र तस्माद्वै सर्पसत्रात्कथञ्चन ॥१-४८-१६॥

(Indra, pleased, said to him: "O Takshaka, there is no fear for you here, O lord of serpents, therefore indeed from the serpent sacrifice in any way.")
Indra, being pleased, said to Takshaka: "O lord of serpents, you have nothing to fear here from the serpent sacrifice."
प्रसादितो मया पूर्वं तवार्थाय पितामहः। तस्मात्तव भयं नास्ति व्येतु ते मानसो ज्वरः ॥१-४८-१७॥
prasādito mayā pūrvaṃ tavārthāya pitāmahaḥ। tasmāttava bhayaṃ nāsti vyetu te mānaso jvaraḥ ॥1-48-17॥

(The grandfather was pleased by me before for your purpose. Therefore, your fear is not; let your mental agony go.)
I have already pleased the grandfather on your behalf. Therefore, you have no reason to fear; let your mental anguish be relieved.
एवमाश्वासितस्तेन ततः स भुजगोत्तमः। उवास भवने तत्र शक्रस्य मुदितः सुखी ॥१-४८-१८॥
evam āśvāsitas tena tataḥ sa bhujagottamaḥ। uvāsa bhavane tatra śakrasya muditaḥ sukhī ॥1-48-18॥

Thus reassured by him, the eminent serpent then resided happily and joyfully in Indra's abode.
अजस्रं निपतत्स्वग्नौ नागेषु भृशदुःखितः। अल्पशेषपरीवारो वासुकिः पर्यतप्यत ॥१-४८-१९॥
ajasraṃ nipatatsvagnau nāgeṣu bhṛśaduḥkhitaḥ। alpaśeṣaparīvāro vāsukiḥ paryatapyata ॥1-48-19॥

कश्मलं चाविशद्घोरं वासुकिं पन्नगेश्वरम्। स घूर्णमानहृदयो भगिनीमिदमब्रवीत् ॥१-४८-२०॥
kaśmalaṃ cāviśad ghoraṃ vāsukiṃ pannageśvaram। sa ghūrṇamānahṛdayo bhaginīmidam abravīt ॥1-48-20॥

दृष्टिर्भ्रमति मेऽतीव हृदयं दीर्यतीव च। पतिष्याम्यवशोऽद्याहं तस्मिन्दीप्ते विभावसौ ॥१-४८-२२॥
dṛṣṭir bhramati me'tīva hṛdayaṃ dīryatīva ca। patiṣyāmy avaśo'dyāhaṃ tasmin dīpte vibhāvasau ॥1-48-22॥

(Sight wanders my excessively heart splits as if and I shall fall helpless today I in that blazing fire.)

(O dear one, speak of your own child, the prince respected by elders. Today, you, with servants, for liberation, are the best knower of Vedas.)
