Then a divine voice approached the beautiful and virtuous lady. Seeing her endowed with youth and beauty, the goddess appeared before her.
Indrani, filled with joy, worshipped her and asked: "I wish to know who you are. Please tell me, O lady with a beautiful face."
The hearing spoke:
O goddess, I have heard and come into your presence. Indeed, I am pleased by the truth of your sight.
You are devoted to your husband and engaged in restraint and discipline. I will show you Indra, the god who slays Vṛtra. Quickly follow, and good fortune will come to you; you will see the best of the gods.

Śalya spoke:
Indrani, the goddess, followed her journey through the divine forests and numerous mountains, eventually reaching the northern side after crossing the Himalayas.
He reached the vast ocean and then approached a great island lush with diverse trees and creepers.
There he saw a magnificent lake, divine and surrounded by various birds, stretching a hundred yojanas in width and equally in length, exuding beauty.
In that place, O Bhārata, thousands of divine lotuses in five colors are blooming, accompanied by the humming of bees.
After piercing the stalk of the lotus, she entered it with her companion and saw Indra within the lotus fiber.
Upon seeing the lord in a very subtle form, the goddess transformed herself into a subtle form and became the embodiment of hearing.
Indra was praised by Indrani for his renowned past deeds. Then, as he was being praised, the god Purandara spoke to Shachi.
Why have you come here and how do you know me? Then she narrated the actions of Nahusha.
Having achieved the status of Indra in the three worlds, filled with heroism and pride, and overcome by arrogance, the wicked soul addressed me, O Shatakratu, saying, 'Serve me.' Thus, the cruel one dictated my fate.
If you do not frighten him, O Lord, he will control me. Tormented by this, I have come to you, O Indra. Destroy the fierce Nahusha, O mighty-armed one, who is determined in his wickedness.
Reveal yourself, O mighty destroyer of demons and giants, and attain the splendor to rule the divine kingdom.
