Vasudeva said:
Despite being addressed by Bhishma, Drona, Vidura, Gandhari, and Dhritarashtra, the dullard failed to comprehend.
The kings, having abandoned their lives, rose in anger with bloodshot eyes and chased after him.
The king instructed those malicious princes repeatedly to proceed to Kurukshetra on the day of Pushya, emphasizing the urgency of the task.
Then the kings, along with their armies, joyfully departed, having appointed Bhishma as the commander, driven by the call of time.
Eleven divisions of kings' armies gathered, with Bhishma, bearing a palm tree banner, shining at the forefront. O lord of the people, act according to what is appropriate and has been obtained here.
O Bharata, the words spoken by Bhishma, Drona, Vidura, Gandhari, and Dhritarashtra in my presence have been narrated to you, O King, regarding what transpired in the Kuru assembly.
In the beginning, I employed conciliation, O king, with the desire for friendship, to maintain the unity of the Kuru dynasty and to ensure the prosperity of the people.
The repetition of division is appropriate for me when the song is not accepted; indeed, the recitation of actions is a collection of divine and human.
When Suyodhana does not respect the speech that is preceded by conciliation, I gather and divide all the kings.
O Bhārata, wondrous, terrible, and frightful inhuman deeds have been shown to me, O lord.
Having rebuked the king, he disregarded Suyodhana and repeatedly frightened Radheya and Saubala.
The sons of Dhritarashtra were repeatedly diminished and criticized, as all the kings were divided with words and counsel again and again.
Once more, I recited the offering with hymns, emphasizing the unity of the Kuru dynasty and the necessity of the task, in the same manner.
The young sons of Dhritarashtra, Bhishma, and Vidura would stand together, with all the Pandavas, having abandoned their pride and moving humbly.
Let them grant the kingdom and become powerless, as the king, the son of Ganga, and Vidura have said. So be it.
May your entire kingdom remain; relinquish five villages. Indeed, your father must be supported, O best of kings.
Thus addressed, the wicked soul did not change his mind. I see the fourth punishment as the only option for those sinners.
The kings have gone to Kurukshetra for their destruction. This is what has been narrated to you, all that transpired in the Kuru assembly.
O Pāṇḍava, they will not grant you the kingdom without a fight. All are destined for destruction and are facing imminent death.
