Pancharatra-core: Shakuni and Dushasana send a stern teaser to Pandavas through Uluka.
Sanjaya spoke:
In the region of Hiranyavati, where the noble Pandavas resided, King Duryodhana, along with Karna, was present, O Bharata.
O King, Saubala and Duḥśāsana summoned Uluka in the assembly and said this.
Uluka, go to the Pandavas and Somakas, O Kaitavya. After reaching there, convey my message to Vasudeva who is listening.
This is the long-anticipated war between the Pandavas and the Kauravas, dreaded by the world.
Sanjaya made a great boastful speech, O son of Kunti, in the midst of the Kurus, declaring that the time has come. As promised by you, let everything be done accordingly.
O Pandava, remember the anger, the loss of your kingdom, the exile to the forest, and the suffering of Draupadi, and stand firm as a man.
The purpose for which a Kshatriya woman gives birth to a child has manifested here. It is to display strength, valor, heroism, and supreme skill in weaponry. Show your manliness in battle and make amends for your anger.
Who would not feel heartbroken when afflicted, miserable, having lived long in such conditions, and then deprived of wealth?
In the family of a hero who covets others' wealth and seizes kingdoms by force, whose anger would not be kindled?
The wise recognize a person as bad if they boast without action, even if they speak great words.
The position under enemy control and the restoration of the kingdom are two objectives for those engaged in battle; therefore, show courage.
You may either conquer us and rule this earth, or if defeated by us, you will ascend to the world of heroes.
O Pandava, remember the exile from the kingdom, the suffering, the forest dwelling, and the great distress of Krishna, and be a man.
Show your impatience today in the face of unpleasant words, for it is indeed a sign of true manliness to do so repeatedly.
O son of Pritha, let your anger, strength, valor, knowledge, discipline, and skill in weapons be demonstrated here in battle; stand as a true warrior.
O Uluka, you should repeatedly convey my message to that foolish, stupid, gluttonous, and ignorant Bhimasena.
Vrikodara, who was powerless, vowed in the assembly to drink the blood of Duhshasana, if it were possible.
The preparation of iron weapons is complete, and Kurukshetra is free from mud. Your horses are well-nourished, and the warriors are ready. Tomorrow, you shall fight alongside Keshava.
