Core and Pancharatra: Bhima drew his sharp, excellent sword and seized the trembling throat of Duḥśāsana. After cutting open the chest of the fallen one on the ground, he drank the warm blood, tasting it repeatedly. The elated one roared loudly, his body drenched in blood.

प्रमाणकोट्यां शयनं कालकूटस्य भोजनम्। दशनं चाहिभिः कष्टं दाहं च जतुवेश्मनि ॥८-६१-१२॥

To Duḥśāsana, what I promised in battle has been fulfilled today, O heroes. Today, I will offer another, the second one, Duryodhana, as a sacrificial victim, having slain him.
शिरो मृदित्वा च पदा दुरात्मनः; शान्तिं लप्स्ये कौरवाणां समक्षम् ॥८-६१-१६॥
śiro mṛditvā ca padā durātmanaḥ; śāntiṁ lapsye kauravāṇāṁ samakṣam ॥8-61-16॥
[शिरः (śiraḥ) - head; मृदित्वा (mṛditvā) - crushing; च (ca) - and; पदा (padā) - with foot; दुरात्मनः (durātmanaḥ) - of the evil-minded; शान्तिम् (śāntim) - peace; लप्स्ये (lapsye) - I shall obtain; कौरवाणाम् (kauravāṇām) - of the Kauravas; समक्षम् (samakṣam) - in the presence;]
(Crushing the head of the evil-minded with foot, I shall obtain peace in the presence of the Kauravas.)
By crushing the head of the wicked one with my foot, I will secure peace in front of the Kauravas.
एतावदुक्त्वा वचनं प्रहृष्टो; ननाद चोच्चै रुधिरार्द्रगात्रः। ननर्त चैवातिबलो महात्मा; वृत्रं निहत्येव सहस्रनेत्रः ॥८-६१-१७॥
etāvad uktvā vacanaṃ prahṛṣṭo; nanāda coccai rudhirārdragātraḥ। nanarta caivātibalo mahātmā; vṛtraṃ nihatyeva sahasranetraḥ ॥8-61-17॥

(Thus having spoken the words, elated, he roared loudly, his body wet with blood. The very strong great soul danced indeed, having slain Vritra, the thousand-eyed one.)
Having spoken thus, the elated one roared loudly, his body drenched in blood. The mighty soul danced with joy, having slain Vritra, the thousand-eyed Indra.
