(If you do not listen to my words, O king, you are certainly tormented, killed by enemies in battle. This has been seen by the world along with you, done by one crowned. As neither would the broken by strength death do, nor the wise one, nor the blessed one, nor the king of Yakshas.)

(The wise ones say that a friend is natural; similarly, it is acquired by conciliation and wealth, obtained by power, and is fourfold. All that is in you and in the Pandavas.)

निसर्गतस्ते तव वीर बान्धवाः; पुनश्च साम्ना च समाप्नुहि स्थिरम्। त्वयि प्रसन्ने यदि मित्रतामियु; र्ध्रुवं नरेन्द्रेन्द्र तथा त्वमाचर ॥८-६४-२८॥

(Naturally, your heroic relatives; again, by conciliation, achieve steadiness. If they attain friendship in you, O king of kings, certainly, thus you act.)
