Pancharatra and Core: Karna's special snake arrow misses the mark, helped by Krishna's manoeuvre, and hits Arjuna's crown. Arjuna dislodges Karna's armour, and Karna's chariot wheel gets stuck in a pit. Karna asks for a moment of time for him to dislodge his chariot, taking dharma's shelter.

बलेनाथ स संस्तभ्य ब्रह्मास्त्रं समुदैरयत्। ऐन्द्रास्त्रमर्जुनश्चापि तद्दृष्ट्वाभिन्यमन्त्रयत् ॥८-६६-४८॥

ततस्तेजोमया बाणा रथात्पार्थस्य निःसृताः। प्रादुरासन्महावीर्याः कर्णस्य रथमन्तिकात् ॥८-६६-५०॥

(Karna, the great chariot warrior, made them useless in front of you, having practiced. Then the hero of the Vrishni clan said, when that weapon was destroyed.)

(But Radheya, with his wheel seized, shed tears from anger. He said to Arjuna, "O Pandava, wait for a moment.")

(In the middle, having seen the wheel seized by fate, this is mine. O son of Pritha, abandon the cowardly act and intention.)
In the midst of the battlefield, seeing the wheel trapped by fate, I claim this as mine. O Arjuna, abandon any cowardly act and intention.
प्रकीर्णकेशे विमुखे ब्राह्मणे च कृताञ्जलौ। शरणागते न्यस्तशस्त्रे तथा व्यसनगेऽर्जुन ॥८-६६-६२॥
prakīrṇakeśe vimukhe brāhmaṇe ca kṛtāñjalau। śaraṇāgate nyastaśastre tathā vyasanage'rjuna ॥8-66-62॥

(Without arrows, with broken armor and shattered weapons, heroes do not attack in battle, nor do princes attack a king. And you are a hero, O son of Kunti, therefore be patient for a moment.)

(As long as I lift this wheel from the earth, O Dhanañjaya, you ought not to kill me, standing unattached on the ground from the chariot. I do not fear from Vāsudeva or from you, O son of Pandu.)
As long as I am able to lift this wheel from the earth, O Dhanañjaya, you should not kill me while I am unattached and standing on the ground. I do not fear either Vāsudeva or you, O son of Pandu.

(You indeed, descendant of the Kshatriyas, enhancer of the great family, remembering the teaching of dharma, be patient for a moment, O Pandava.)
