विनीय दुःखमबला सा त्वतीवायतेक्षणा। उवाच प्राञ्जलिर्भूत्वा लतेवावर्जिता तदा ॥१२-२५०-१॥
vinīya duḥkhamabalā sā tvatīvāyatekṣaṇā। uvāca prāñjalirbhūtvā latevāvarjitā tadā ॥12-250-1॥

(Having removed sorrow, the weak woman, she, very much with wide eyes, said, with joined palms, having become, like a creeper, as if bent, then.)
Then, having removed her sorrow, that weak woman, with very wide eyes, bent like a creeper, joined her palms and spoke.
त्वया सृष्टा कथं नारी मादृशी वदतां वर। रौद्रकर्माभिजायेत सर्वप्राणिभयङ्करी ॥१२-२५०-२॥
tvayā sṛṣṭā kathaṃ nārī mādṛśī vadatāṃ vara। raudrakarmābhijāyeta sarvapraṇibhayaṅkarī ॥12-250-2॥

(By you created how woman like me, O best of speakers, of fierce deeds would be born, causing fear to all beings.)
O best of speakers, how could a woman like me, created by you, who performs fierce deeds and causes fear to all beings, be born?
बिभेम्यहमधर्मस्य धर्म्यमादिश कर्म मे। त्वं मां भीतामवेक्षस्व शिवेनेश्वर चक्षुषा ॥१२-२५०-३॥
bibhemy aham adharmasya dharmy am ādiśa karma me। tvaṃ māṃ bhītām avekṣasva śivena īśvara cakṣuṣā ॥12-250-3॥

(I fear unrighteousness; instruct me in righteous action; you, look upon me, who am fearful, with the auspicious eye of the Lord.)

बालान्वृद्धान्वयःस्थांश्च न हरेयमनागसः। प्राणिनः प्राणिनामीश नमस्तेऽभिप्रसीद मे ॥१२-२५०-४॥
bālān vṛddhān vayaḥ-sthāṁś ca na hared am-anāgasaḥ। prāṇinaḥ prāṇinām īśa namas te'bhprasīda me ॥12-250-4॥
[बालान् (bālān) - children; वृद्धान् (vṛddhān) - the aged; वयःस्थान् (vayaḥ-sthān) - those of mature age; च (ca) - and; न (na) - not; हरेयम् (hareyam) - should I take away; अनागसः (am-anāgasaḥ) - of the innocent; प्राणिनः (prāṇinaḥ) - living beings; प्राणिनाम् (prāṇinām) - of living beings; ईश (īśa) - O Lord; नमः (namaḥ) - obeisance; ते (te) - to you; अभिप्रसीद (abhiprasīda) - be gracious; मे (me) - to me;]
(Children, the aged, those of mature age and (others) I should not take away, O Lord, of the innocent living beings. O Lord of living beings, obeisance to you, be gracious to me.)
O Lord of living beings, I should not take away the lives of children, the aged, or those of mature age who are innocent. O Lord, I bow to you; please be gracious to me.
प्रियान्पुत्रान्वयस्यांश्च भ्रातॄन्मातॄः पितॄनपि। अपध्यास्यन्ति यद्देव मृतांस्तेषां बिभेम्यहम् ॥१२-२५०-५॥
priyān putrān vayasyāṃś ca bhrātṝn mātṝḥ pitṝn api। apadhyāsyanti yad deva mṛtāṃs teṣāṃ bibhemy aham॥12-250-5॥
[प्रियान् (priyān) - dear; पुत्रान् (putrān) - sons; वयस्यान् (vayasyān) - friends; च (ca) - and; भ्रातॄन् (bhrātṝn) - brothers; मातॄः (mātṝḥ) - mothers; पितॄन् (pitṝn) - fathers; अपि (api) - also; अपध्यास्यन्ति (apadhyāsyanti) - will imagine; यत् (yat) - that; देव (deva) - O god; मृतान् (mṛtān) - the dead; तेषाम् (teṣām) - of them; बिभेमि (bibhemi) - I fear; अहम् (aham) - I;]
(Dear sons, friends, and brothers, mothers, fathers also, will imagine that, O god, the dead of them; I fear, I.)
O god, I am afraid that the dear sons, friends, brothers, mothers, and fathers of those who have died will imagine them.
कृपणाश्रुपरिक्लेदो दहेन्मां शाश्वतीः समाः। तेभ्योऽहं बलवद्भीता शरणं त्वामुपागता ॥१२-२५०-६॥
kṛpaṇāśruparikledo dahe nmāṃ śāśvatīḥ samāḥ। tebhyo' haṃ balavadbhītā śaraṇaṃ tvāmupāgatā ॥12-250-6॥
[कृपण (kṛpaṇa) - miserable; अश्रु (aśru) - tears; परिक्लेदः (parikledaḥ) - soaking; दहेत् (dahet) - may burn; माम् (mām) - me; शाश्वतीः (śāśvatīḥ) - eternal; समाः (samāḥ) - years; तेभ्यः (tebhyaḥ) - from them; अहम् (aham) - I; बलवत् (balavat) - very much; भीता (bhītā) - afraid; शरणम् (śaraṇam) - refuge; त्वाम् (tvām) - you; उपागता (upāgatā) - have approached;]
(The soaking from the miserable tears may burn me for eternal years. From them, I, very much afraid, have approached you for refuge.)
The soaking of miserable tears may burn me for endless years. Out of great fear of them, I have come to you for refuge.
यमस्य भवने देव यात्यन्ते पापकर्मिणः। प्रसादये त्वा वरद प्रसादं कुरु मे प्रभो ॥१२-२५०-७॥
yamasya bhavane deva yātyante pāpakarmiṇaḥ। prasādaye tvā varada prasādaṃ kuru me prabho ॥12-250-7॥
[यमस्य (yamasya) - of Yama; (god of death); भवने (bhavane) - in the abode; (house); देव (deva) - O god; (divine one); यात्यन्ते (yātyante) - they go; (proceed); पापकर्मिणः (pāpakarmiṇaḥ) - evil-doers; (those of sinful actions); प्रसादये (prasādaye) - I propitiate; (make pleased); त्वा (tvā) - you; (thee); वरद (varada) - O bestower of boons; (grantor of wishes); प्रसादं (prasādaṃ) - grace; (favor); कुरु (kuru) - do; (make); मे (me) - for me; (to me); प्रभो (prabho) - O lord; (master);]
(O god, evil-doers go to the abode of Yama. O bestower of boons, I propitiate you; O lord, do grace for me.)
O god, those who perform sinful actions go to the abode of Yama. O bestower of boons, I beseech you; O lord, please bestow your grace upon me.
एतमिच्छाम्यहं कामं त्वत्तो लोकपितामह। इच्छेयं त्वत्प्रसादाच्च तपस्तप्तुं सुरेश्वर ॥१२-२५०-८॥
etam icchāmi ahaṃ kāmam tvatto lokapitāmaha। iccheyam tvatprasādāc ca tapas taptuṃ sureśvara ॥12-250-8॥
[एतम् (etam) - this; (object) इच्छामि (icchāmi) - I desire; अहम् (aham) - I; कामम् (kāmam) - wish; desire; त्वत्तः (tvattaḥ) - from you; लोकपितामह (lokapitāmaha) - O grandsire of the world; इच्छेयं (iccheyam) - I would wish; त्वत्-प्रसादात् (tvat-prasādāt) - by your grace; च (ca) - and; तपः (tapas) - austerity; penance; तप्तुम् (taptum) - to perform; सुरेश्वर (sureśvara) - O lord of the gods;]
(This I desire, O grandsire of the world, this wish from you. I would wish, by your grace and favor, O lord of the gods, to perform austerity.)
O grandsire of the world, this is the wish I desire from you. O lord of the gods, by your grace, I wish to perform austerities.
पितामह उवाच॥

मृत्यो सङ्कल्पिता मे त्वं प्रजासंहारहेतुना। गच्छ संहर सर्वास्त्वं प्रजा मा च विचारय ॥१२-२५०-९॥
mṛtyo saṅkalpitā me tvaṃ prajāsaṃhārahetunā। gaccha saṃhara sarvāstvaṃ prajā mā ca vicāraya ॥12-250-9॥
[मृत्यो (mṛtyo) - O Death; सङ्कल्पिता (saṅkalpitā) - appointed; मे (me) - by me; त्वं (tvaṃ) - you; प्रजासंहारहेतुना (prajāsaṃhārahetunā) - for the purpose of destruction of beings; गच्छ (gaccha) - go; संहर (saṃhara) - destroy; सर्वा (sarvā) - all; अस्त्वं (astvaṃ) - you; प्रजा (prajā) - creatures; मा (mā) - do not; च (ca) - and; विचारय (vicāraya) - consider;]
(O Death, appointed by me for the purpose of destruction of beings, go, destroy all creatures; do not consider.)
O Death, you have been appointed by me for the destruction of beings. Go and destroy all creatures; do not hesitate or consider further.
एतदेवमवश्यं हि भविता नैतदन्यथा। क्रियतामनवद्याङ्गि यथोक्तं मद्वचोऽनघे ॥१२-२५०-१०॥
etadevam avaśyaṃ hi bhavitā naitad anyathā। kriyatām anavadyāṅgi yathoktaṃ mad-vaco'naghe ॥12-250-10॥
[एतदेवम् (etadevam) - exactly thus; in this very manner; अवश्यं (avaśyam) - certainly; inevitably; हि (hi) - indeed; for; भविता (bhavitā) - will be; shall happen; न (na) - not; एतत् (etat) - this; अन्यथा (anyathā) - otherwise; in another way; क्रियताम् (kriyatām) - let it be done; may it be performed; अनवद्याङ्गि (anavadyāṅgi) - O faultless-limbed one; यथोक्तम् (yathoktam) - as said; as stated; मद्वचः (mad-vacaḥ) - my word; my speech; अनघे (anaghe) - O sinless one;]
(Exactly thus, certainly indeed it will be; this will not be otherwise. Let it be done, O faultless-limbed one, as stated, my word, O sinless one.)
This will certainly happen exactly as stated; it cannot be otherwise. O faultless one, let my words be carried out as I have said, O sinless one.

एवमुक्ता महाबाहो मृत्युः परपुरञ्जय। न व्याजहार तस्थौ च प्रह्वा भगवदुन्मुखी ॥१२-२५०-११॥
evamuktā mahābāho mṛtyuḥ parapurañjaya। na vyājahāra tasthau ca prahvā bhagavadunmukhī ॥12-250-11॥
[एवम् (evam) - thus; उक्ता (uktā) - having been addressed; महाबाहो (mahābāho) - O mighty-armed; मृत्युः (mṛtyuḥ) - Death; परपुरञ्जय (parapurañjaya) - conqueror of enemy cities; न (na) - not; व्याजहार (vyājahāra) - spoke; तस्थौ (tasthau) - stood; च (ca) - and; प्रह्वा (prahvā) - humbled; भगवदुन्मुखी (bhagavadunmukhī) - turned towards the Lord;]
(Thus addressed, O mighty-armed conqueror of enemy cities, Death did not speak, but stood humbled, turned towards the Lord.)
O mighty-armed conqueror of enemy cities, when thus addressed, Death remained silent and stood humbly, facing the Lord.
पुनः पुनरथोक्ता सा गतसत्त्वेव भामिनी। तूष्णीमासीत्ततो देवो देवानामीश्वरेश्वरः ॥१२-२५०-१२॥
punaḥ punarathoktā sā gatasattveva bhāminī। tūṣṇīmāsīttato devo devānāmīśvareśvaraḥ ॥12-250-12॥
[पुनः (punaḥ) - again; पुनः (punaḥ) - again; अथ (atha) - then; उक्ता (uktā) - spoken; सा (sā) - she; गतसत्त्वा (gatasattvā) - having lost vitality; इव (iva) - as if; भामिनी (bhāminī) - the lady; तूष्णीम् (tūṣṇīm) - silent; आसीत् (āsīt) - remained; ततः (tataḥ) - then; देवः (devaḥ) - the god; देवानाम् (devānām) - of the gods; ईश्वरेश्वरः (īśvareśvaraḥ) - the lord of lords;]
(Again and again then spoken she, as if having lost vitality, the lady, remained silent; then the god, the lord of lords of the gods.)
Again and again she was addressed, but the lady, as if bereft of life, remained silent; then the god, the lord of lords among the gods, acted.
प्रससाद किल ब्रह्मा स्वयमेवात्मनात्मवान्। स्मयमानश्च लोकेशो लोकान्सर्वानवैक्षत ॥१२-२५०-१३॥
prasasāda kila brahmā svayamevātmanātmavān। smayamānaś ca lokeśo lokān sarvān avaikṣata ॥12-250-13॥
[प्रससाद (prasasāda) - became pleased; किल (kila) - indeed; ब्रह्मा (brahmā) - Brahmā; स्वयम् (svayam) - himself; एव (eva) - indeed; आत्मना (ātmanā) - by (his) self; आत्मवान् (ātmavān) - self-possessed; स्मयमानः (smayamānaḥ) - smiling; च (ca) - and; लोकेशः (lokeśaḥ) - the lord of the worlds; लोकान् (lokān) - the worlds; सर्वान् (sarvān) - all; अवैक्षत (avaikṣata) - looked upon;]
(Brahmā indeed became pleased, himself indeed, self-possessed, and the lord of the worlds, smiling, looked upon all the worlds.)
Brahmā, truly pleased and self-possessed, smiled and gazed upon all the worlds as the lord of the worlds.
निवृत्तरोषे तस्मिंस्तु भगवत्यपराजिते। सा कन्यापजगामास्य समीपादिति नः श्रुतम् ॥१२-२५०-१४॥
nivṛttarōṣe tasmiṁstu bhagavatyaparājitē। sā kanyāpajagāmāsya samīpāditi naḥ śrutam ॥12-250-14॥
[निवृत्त (nivṛtta) - ceased; रोषे (roṣe) - anger; तस्मिन् (tasmin) - in him; तु (tu) - but; भगवति (bhagavati) - the venerable; अपराजिते (aparājite) - unconquered; सा (sā) - she; कन्या (kanyā) - maiden; अपजगाम (apajagāma) - departed; अस्य (asya) - from his; समीपात् (samīpāt) - proximity; इति (iti) - thus; नः (naḥ) - to us; श्रुतम् (śrutam) - has been heard;]
(When the anger had ceased in him, in the venerable unconquered one, that maiden departed from his proximity—thus it has been heard by us.)
It is said that when the anger subsided in the venerable unconquered one, the maiden left his presence.
अपसृत्याप्रतिश्रुत्य प्रजासंहरणं तदा। त्वरमाणेव राजेन्द्र मृत्युर्धेनुकमभ्ययात् ॥१२-२५०-१५॥
apasṛtyāpratiśrutya prajāsaṃharaṇaṃ tadā। tvaramāṇeva rājendra mṛtyurdhenukamabhyayāt ॥12-250-15॥
[अपसृत्य (apasṛtya) - having withdrawn; अप्रतिश्रुत्य (apratiśrutya) - without promising; प्रजा (prajā) - subjects; संहरणं (saṃharaṇam) - destruction; तदा (tadā) - then; त्वरमाण (tvaramāṇa) - hastening; एव (eva) - indeed; राजेन्द्र (rājendra) - O king; मृत्युः (mṛtyuḥ) - Death; धेनुकम् (dhenukam) - Dhenuka; अभ्ययात् (abhyayāt) - approached;]
(Having withdrawn without promising, the destruction of the subjects then, hastening indeed, O king, Death approached Dhenuka.)
O King, having withdrawn without making a promise regarding the destruction of the subjects, Death, hastening, then approached Dhenuka.
सा तत्र परमं देवी तपोऽचरत दुश्चरम्। समा ह्येकपदे तस्थौ दश पद्मानि पञ्च च ॥१२-२५०-१६॥
sā tatra paramaṃ devī tapo'carat duścaram। samā hyekapade tasthau daśa padmāni pañca ca ॥12-250-16॥
[सा (sā) - she; तत्र (tatra) - there; परमं (paramaṃ) - supreme; देवी (devī) - goddess; तपः (tapaḥ) - austerity; अचरत् (acarat) - performed; दुश्चरम् (duścaram) - difficult to practice; समा (samā) - year; हि (hi) - indeed; एकपदे (ekapade) - on one foot; तस्थौ (tasthau) - stood; दश (daśa) - ten; पद्मानि (padmāni) - lotuses; पञ्च (pañca) - five; च (ca) - and;]
(She there the supreme goddess performed austerity difficult to practice. For a year indeed on one foot she stood, ten lotuses and five.)
There, the supreme goddess performed extremely difficult austerities. For a whole year, she stood on one foot, upon fifteen lotuses.
तां तथा कुर्वतीं तत्र तपः परमदुश्चरम्। पुनरेव महातेजा ब्रह्मा वचनमब्रवीत् ॥१२-२५०-१७॥
tāṃ tathā kurvatīṃ tatra tapaḥ paramaduścaram। punareva mahātejā brahmā vacanamabravīt ॥12-250-17॥
[तां (tāṃ) - her; तथा (tathā) - thus; कुर्वतीं (kurvatīṃ) - doing; तत्र (tatra) - there; तपः (tapaḥ) - austerity; परमदुश्चरम् (paramaduścaram) - extremely difficult to perform; पुनः (punaḥ) - again; एव (eva) - indeed; महातेजा (mahātejā) - of great splendor; ब्रह्मा (brahmā) - Brahmā; वचनम् (vacanam) - word; अब्रवीत् (abravīt) - spoke;]
(Her thus doing there austerity extremely difficult to perform, again indeed of great splendor Brahmā word spoke.)
As she was thus engaged in performing that extremely difficult austerity there, Brahmā, the one of great splendor, again spoke these words.
कुरुष्व मे वचो मृत्यो तदनादृत्य सत्वरा। तथैवैकपदे तात पुनरन्यानि सप्त सा ॥१२-२५०-१८॥
kuruṣva me vaco mṛtyo tadanādṛtya satvarā। tathaivaikapade tāta punaranyāni sapta sā ॥12-250-18॥

(Do my word, O Death, having disregarded that, quickly. In the same way, O dear, at once, again, the other seven, she.)
O Death, do as I say, quickly disregarding that. In the same way, O dear, at once, she again (does) the other seven.
तस्थौ पद्मानि षट्चैव पञ्च द्वे चैव मानद। भूयः पद्मायुतं तात मृगैः सह चचार सा ॥१२-२५०-१९॥
tasthau padmāni ṣaṭ caiva pañca dve caiva mānada। bhūyaḥ padmāyutaṃ tāta mṛgaiḥ saha cacāra sā ॥12-250-19॥
[तस्थौ (tasthau) - stood; पद्मानि (padmāni) - lotuses; षट् (ṣaṭ) - six; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; पञ्च (pañca) - five; द्वे (dve) - two; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; मानद (mānada) - O bestower of honor; भूयः (bhūyaḥ) - again; पद्मायुतं (padmāyutaṃ) - ten thousand lotuses; तात (tāta) - O dear one; मृगैः (mṛgaiḥ) - with deer; सह (saha) - together; चचार (cacāra) - wandered; सा (sā) - she;]
(She stood (by) six, and indeed five, and two, O bestower of honor. Again, O dear one, she wandered with deer together (by) ten thousand lotuses.)
She stood by six, five, and two lotuses, O bestower of honor. Then, O dear one, she wandered together with the deer among ten thousand lotuses.
पुनर्गत्वा ततो राजन्मौनमातिष्ठदुत्तमम्। अप्सु वर्षसहस्राणि सप्त चैकं च पार्थिव ॥१२-२५०-२०॥
punargatvā tato rājan maunam ātiṣṭhad uttamam। apsu varṣasahasrāṇi sapta ca ekaṃ ca pārthiva ॥12-250-20॥
[पुनः (punaḥ) - again; गत्वा (gatvā) - having gone; ततः (tataḥ) - then; राजन् (rājan) - O king; मौनम् (maunam) - silence; आतिष्ठत् (ātiṣṭhat) - he observed; उत्तमम् (uttamam) - supreme; अप्सु (apsu) - in the waters; वर्षसहस्राणि (varṣasahasrāṇi) - thousands of years; सप्त (sapta) - seven; च (ca) - and; एकम् (ekam) - one; च (ca) - and; पार्थिव (pārthiva) - O king;]
(Again, having gone then, O king, he observed supreme silence in the waters for seven thousand and one years, O king.)
Then, O king, having returned, he practiced the highest silence in the waters for seven thousand and one years.
ततो जगाम सा कन्या कौशिकीं भरतर्षभ। तत्र वायुजलाहारा चचार नियमं पुनः ॥१२-२५०-२१॥
tato jagāma sā kanyā kauśikīṃ bharatarṣabha। tatra vāyujalāhārā cacāra niyamaṃ punaḥ ॥12-250-21॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; जगाम (jagāma) - went; सा (sā) - she; कन्या (kanyā) - maiden; कौशिकीं (kauśikīṃ) - to Kauśikī (the river); भरतर्षभ (bharatarṣabha) - O bull among the Bharatas; तत्र (tatra) - there; वायुजलाहारा (vāyujalāhārā) - subsisting on air and water; चचार (cacāra) - practiced; नियमं (niyamaṃ) - austerity; पुनः (punaḥ) - again;]
(Then she, the maiden, went to Kauśikī, O bull among the Bharatas. There, subsisting on air and water, she practiced austerity again.)
Then the maiden went to the river Kauśikī, O best of the Bharatas. There, living only on air and water, she again undertook austerities.
ततो ययौ महाभागा गङ्गां मेरुं च केवलम्। तस्थौ दार्विव निश्चेष्टा भूतानां हितकाम्यया ॥१२-२५०-२२॥

(This other desire of yours, wished by the mind, I give. Not by fault will your subjects, afflicted by disease, go (away).)

(Of all living beings, at the final time, you should join desire and anger together. Thus, righteousness, immeasurable, will approach you; and you, of equal conduct, will not obtain unrighteousness.)

(Those diseases of death which cause tears, by which the body of men is afflicted; indeed, at the end of life of all living beings, therefore, do not make grief, understand with intellect.)
The diseases of death that bring tears and afflict the bodies of men—these come to all living beings at the end of life. Therefore, do not grieve; understand this with your intellect.

(Wind, terrible, having a terrible sound, of great energy; and of all living beings, the source of life. Varied functions of embodied beings in the difference of bodies; therefore, wind, the god of gods, is distinguished.)

सर्वे देवा मर्त्यसञ्ज्ञाविशिष्टाः; सर्वे मर्त्या देवसञ्ज्ञाविशिष्टाः। तस्मात्पुत्रं मा शुचो राजसिंह; पुत्रः स्वर्गं प्राप्य ते मोदते ह ॥१२-२५०-४०॥
sarve devā martyasañjñāviśiṣṭāḥ; sarve martyā devasañjñāviśiṣṭāḥ. tasmāt putraṃ mā śuco rājasiṃha; putraḥ svargaṃ prāpya te modate ha ॥12-250-40॥

(All gods are distinguished by the designation as mortals; all mortals are distinguished by the designation as gods. Therefore, do not grieve for your son, O king lion; your son, having attained heaven, indeed rejoices.)
All gods are called mortals at times, and all mortals are sometimes called gods. Therefore, O king, do not grieve for your son; your son, having reached heaven, is now rejoicing.
एवं मृत्युर्देवसृष्टा प्रजानां; प्राप्ते काले संहरन्ती यथावत्। तस्याश्चैव व्याधयस्तेऽश्रुपाताः; प्राप्ते काले संहरन्तीह जन्तून् ॥१२-२५०-४१॥
evaṃ mṛtyur devasṛṣṭā prajānāṃ; prāpte kāle saṃharantī yathāvat. tasyāś caiva vyādhayas te'śrupātāḥ; prāpte kāle saṃharantīha jantūn ॥12-250-41॥
[एवं (evaṃ) - thus; मृत्युः (mṛtyuḥ) - death; देवसृष्टा (devasṛṣṭā) - created by the gods; प्रजानाम् (prajānām) - of beings; प्राप्ते (prāpte) - when arrived; काले (kāle) - at the time; संहरन्ती (saṃharantī) - she who withdraws; यथावत् (yathāvat) - as is proper; तस्याः (tasyāḥ) - of her; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; व्याधयः (vyādhayaḥ) - diseases; ते (te) - they; अश्रुपाताः (aśrupātāḥ) - tear-fallers; प्राप्ते (prāpte) - when arrived; काले (kāle) - at the time; संहरन्ति (saṃharanti) - they withdraw; इह (iha) - here; जन्तून् (jantūn) - creatures;]
(Thus, death created by the gods for beings, when the time arrives, withdraws as is proper. And indeed, her diseases, those tear-fallers, when the time arrives, withdraw here the creatures.)
Thus, death, created by the gods for living beings, comes at the appointed time and takes them away as is proper. And indeed, her diseases, those bringers of tears, also come at the appointed time and take away creatures here.
