Mahabharata - Ashvamedhika Parva (महाभारत - अश्वमेधिकपर्वम्)

Brahmā said.
Prior to the Unmanifest, the Great Self — the Great Intellect — arose; this is called the first creation, the beginning of all the guṇas. (14-40-1)
He is great-souled, intellect, the all-pervader, all, the source of happiness, and powerful; also wisdom, attainment of insight, renown, steadfastness, and memory. (14-40-2)
The great Self is understood through synonymous words. A wise Brahmin, knowing Him, does not fall into delusion. (14-40-3)
He has hands and feet everywhere, has eyes, heads, and mouths everywhere; possessing ears everywhere in the world, pervading all, he abides. (14-40-4)
The supreme person, possessing immense effulgence, resides in the heart of all. He is the lord endowed with the powers of minuteness, lightness, attainment, is radiant, and imperishable. (14-40-5)
There are, among them, people of wisdom: those devoted to renunciation, meditative, perpetually engaged in yoga, steadfast in truth, and self-controlled. (14-40-6)
All those who possess knowledge, are not greedy, have conquered anger, are clear-minded, steadfast, free from possessiveness and ego, and are liberated—these truly attain greatness. (14-40-7)
He who knows the supreme auspicious path of the great Self—such a wise one never falls into delusion in any world. Indeed, in the original creations, Viṣṇu himself becomes the self-born Lord. (14-40-8)
Thus, indeed, he who knows the Lord dwelling in the cave (of the heart), the ancient person, the universal form, the golden one, the supreme goal of the wise—he, being wise, abides in wisdom. (14-40-9)
