सरांसि च नदीश्चैव वनानि विविधानि च। अतिक्रम्य ससादाथ रम्यां द्वारवतीं पुरीम् ॥१४-५८-३॥
sarāṁsi ca nadīścaiva vanāni vividhāni ca। atikramya sasādātha ramyāṁ dvāravatīṁ purīm॥14-58-3॥

अलङ्कृतस्तु स गिरिर्नानारूपविचित्रितैः। बभौ रुक्ममयैः काशैः सर्वतः पुरुषर्षभ ॥१४-५८-५॥

काञ्चनस्रग्भिरग्र्याभिः सुमनोभिस्तथैव च। वासोभिश्च महाशैलः कल्पवृक्षैश्च सर्वशः ॥१४-५८-६॥
kāñcanasragbhir agryābhiḥ sumanobhis tathaiva ca। vāsobhiś ca mahāśailaḥ kalpavṛkṣaiś ca sarvaśaḥ॥14-58-6॥

दीपवृक्षैश्च सौवर्णैरभीक्ष्णमुपशोभितः। गुहानिर्झरदेशेषु दिवाभूतो बभूव ह ॥१४-५८-७॥
dīpavṛkṣaiś ca sauvarṇair abhīkṣṇam upaśobhitaḥ। guhā-nirjhara-deśeṣu divā-bhūto babhūva ha ॥14-58-7॥

पताकाभिर्विचित्राभिः सघण्टाभिः समन्ततः। पुम्भिः स्त्रीभिश्च सङ्घुष्टः प्रगीत इव चाभवत् ॥ अतीव प्रेक्षणीयोऽभून्मेरुर्मुनिगणैरिव ॥१४-५८-८॥
patākābhir vicitrābhiḥ saghaṇṭābhiḥ samantataḥ. pumbhiḥ strībhiś ca saṅghuṣṭaḥ pragīta iva ca abhavat. atīva prekṣaṇīyaḥ abhūt meruḥ munigaṇaiḥ iva. 14-58-8.

(With banners, variegated, with bells on all sides, by men and women and resounded, sung as if and was. Very beautiful to behold became Meru by groups of sages as if.)
With colourful banners adorned with bells all around, and filled with men and women, echoing as though songs were sung, Mount Meru became extremely beautiful to behold, as if surrounded by groups of sages. (14-58-8)
मत्तानां हृष्टरूपाणां स्त्रीणां पुंसां च भारत। गायतां पर्वतेन्द्रस्य दिवस्पृगिव निस्वनः ॥१४-५८-९॥
mattānāṃ hṛṣṭarūpāṇāṃ strīṇāṃ puṃsāṃ ca bhārata। gāyatāṃ parvatendrasya divaspṛgiva nisvanaḥ ॥14-58-9॥
[मत्तानां (mattānām) - of intoxicated; हृष्टरूपाणां (hṛṣṭarūpāṇām) - of those with delighted appearance; स्त्रीणां (strīṇām) - of women; पुंसां (puṃsām) - of men; च (ca) - and; भारत (bhārata) - O Bhārata; गायतां (gāyatām) - of those singing; पर्वतेन्द्रस्य (parvatendrasya) - of the king of mountains; दिवस्पृगिव (divaspṛgiva) - like touching the sky; निस्वनः (nisvanaḥ) - resounding sound;]
(Of intoxicated, of those with delighted appearance—of women, of men and, O Bhārata; of those singing, of the king of mountains, like touching the sky, resounding sound.)
O Bhārata, the resounding sound from intoxicated, joyous men and women singing on the king of mountains was like a sound reaching to the sky. (14-58-9)
प्रमत्तमत्तसंमत्तक्ष्वेडितोत्कृष्टसङ्कुला। तथा किलकिलाशब्दैर्भूरभूत्सुमनोहरा ॥१४-५८-१०॥
pramattamatta-saṁmatta-kṣveḍitotkṛṣṭasaṅkulā। tathā kilakilāśabdair bhūr abhūt sumanoharā ॥14-58-10॥
[प्रमत्तमत्तसंमत्त (pramattamatta-saṁmatta) - by drunken, intoxicated, and maddened; क्ष्वेडित (kṣveḍita) - cried out; huzzahed; उत्कृष्ट (utkṛṣṭa) - excellent; intense; सङ्कुला (saṅkulā) - filled; crowded; तथा (tathā) - thus; likewise; किलकिलाशब्दैः (kilakilāśabdaiḥ) - with the sounds 'kilakila'; भूः (bhūḥ) - the earth; अभूत् (abhūt) - became; was; सुमनोहरा (sumanoharā) - very delightful; exceedingly charming;]
(With drunken, intoxicated, and maddened (ones), resounded shouts, excellently crowded; thus, with 'kilakila' sounds, the earth became very delightful.)
Filled with the tumult of drunken, intoxicated, and maddened beings and excellent cries, the earth thus became exceedingly charming with the resounding 'kilakila' sounds. (14-58-10)
विपणापणवान्रम्यो भक्ष्यभोज्यविहारवान्। वस्त्रमाल्योत्करयुतो वीणावेणुमृदङ्गवान् ॥१४-५८-११॥
vipaṇāpaṇavān ramyo bhakṣyabhojyavihāravān। vastramālyotkarayuto vīṇāveṇumṛdaṅgavān ॥14-58-11॥
[विपणापणवान् (vipaṇāpaṇavān) - having shops and markets; रम्यः (ramyaḥ) - charming; भक्ष्यभोज्यविहारवान् (bhakṣyabhojyavihāravān) - abounding in edibles, food, and places for pleasure; वस्त्रमाल्योत्करयुतः (vastramālyotkarayutaḥ) - endowed with heaps of garments and garlands; वीणावेणुमृदङ्गवान् (vīṇāveṇumṛdaṅgavān) - having vīṇās, flutes, and drums;]
(Charming, having shops and markets, abounding in edible things, food, and places of enjoyment, endowed with heaps of garments and garlands, having vīṇās, flutes, and drums.)
It was charming, filled with shops and markets, abundant with food, pleasure-houses, piles of garments and garlands, and provided with vīṇās, flutes, and drums. (14-58-11)
सुरामैरेयमिश्रेण भक्ष्यभोज्येन चैव ह। दीनान्धकृपणादिभ्यो दीयमानेन चानिशम् ॥ बभौ परमकल्याणो महस्तस्य महागिरेः ॥१४-५८-१२॥
surā-maireya-miśreṇa bhakṣya-bhojyen a caiva ha। dīna-andha-kṛpaṇādibhyo dīyamānena ca aniśam॥ babhau parama-kalyāṇo mahas tasya mahā-gireḥ॥14-58-12॥
[सुरामैरेयमिश्रेण (surā-maireya-miśreṇa) - with a mixture of surā (wine) and maireya (fermented drink); भक्ष्यभोज्येन (bhakṣya-bhojyen a) - with what is to be eaten and what is to be enjoyed (food); च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; ह (ha) - certainly; दीनान्धकृपणादिभ्यः (dīna-andha-kṛpaṇa-ādibhyaḥ) - to the miserable, the blind, the needy, and others; दीयमानेन (dīyamānena) - by being given; च (ca) - and; अनिशम् (aniśam) - constantly; बभौ (babhau) - shone; परमकल्याणः (parama-kalyāṇaḥ) - of highest auspiciousness; महः (mahas) - the radiance; तस्य (tasya) - of him (his); महागिरेः (mahā-gireḥ) - of the great mountain;]
(With a mixture of surā (wine) and maireya (fermented drink), with food and that to be enjoyed indeed; by what is being given constantly to the miserable, blind, needy and others; the radiance of highest auspiciousness of him, of the great mountain, shone.)
The radiance of the great mountain, possessing supreme auspiciousness, shone forth, with offerings of surā, maireya, foods and delicacies, and with constant giving to the poor, blind, and needy. (14-58-12)

puṇyāvasathavān vīra puṇyakṛdbhir niṣevitaḥ। vihāro vṛṣṇivīrāṇāṃ mahe raivatakasya ha ॥ sa nago veśmasaṅkīrṇo devaloka ivābabhau ॥14-58-13॥
[पुण्यावसथवान् (puṇyāvasathavān) - possessing holy abodes; वीर (vīra) - O hero; पुण्यकृद्भिः (puṇyakṛdbhiḥ) - by the virtuously acting ones; निषेवितः (niṣevitaḥ) - frequented; विहारः (vihāraḥ) - park; वृष्णिवीराणाम् (vṛṣṇivīrāṇām) - of the heroes of the Vṛṣṇi clan; महे (mahe) - on the great; रैवतकस्य (raivatakasya) - of Raivataka (mountain); ह (ha) - indeed; स (sa) - that; नगः (nagaḥ) - mountain; वेश्मसङ्कीर्णः (veśmasaṅkīrṇaḥ) - mixed with mansions; देवलोक (devaloka) - abode of the gods; इव (iva) - as if; अबभौ (ababhau) - shone;]
(Possessing holy abodes, O hero, frequented by the virtuously acting, the park of the Vṛṣṇi heroes indeed on the great Raivataka (mountain), that mountain, mixed with mansions, shone as if the abode of the gods.)

तदा च कृष्णसांनिध्यमासाद्य भरतर्षभ। शक्रसद्मप्रतीकाशो बभूव स हि शैलराट् ॥१४-५८-१४॥
tadā ca kṛṣṇasānnidhyam āsādya bharatarṣabha। śakrasadmapratīkāśo babhūva sa hi śailarāṭ ॥14-58-14॥

(Then and having obtained the presence of Kṛṣṇa, O best of the Bharatas, he, indeed, the king of mountains, became resembling the palace of Indra.)

ततः सम्पूज्यमानः स विवेश भवनं शुभम्। गोविन्दः सात्यकिश्चैव जगाम भवनं स्वकम् ॥१४-५८-१५॥
tataḥ sampūjyamānaḥ sa viveśa bhavanaṃ śubham। govindaḥ sātyakiścaiva jagāma bhavanaṃ svakam॥14-58-15॥

(And he, exhilarated in spirit, being a long-time sojourner, entered, having performed not an easy act among the danavas like Vasava (Indra).)

उपयातं तु वार्ष्णेयं भोजवृष्ण्यन्धकास्तदा। अभ्यगच्छन्महात्मानं देवा इव शतक्रतुम् ॥१४-५८-१७॥
upayātaṃ tu vārṣṇeyaṃ bhoja-vṛṣṇy-andhakās tadā। abhyagacchan mahātmānaṃ devā iva śatakratum ॥14-58-17॥
[उपयातं (upayātam) - approached; तु (tu) - but; वार्ष्णेयं (vārṣṇeyam) - the descendant of Vṛṣṇi (i.e., Kṛṣṇa); भोजवृष्ण्यन्धकाः (bhoja-vṛṣṇya-andhakāḥ) - the Bhojas, Vṛṣṇis and Andhakas; तदा (tadā) - then; अभ्यगच्छन् (abhyagacchan) - approached; महात्मानम् (mahātmānam) - the great-souled one; देवाः (devāḥ) - the gods; इव (iva) - like; शतक्रतुम् (śatakratum) - Indra;]
(Approached but the descendant of Vṛṣṇi the Bhojas, Vṛṣṇis and Andhakas then; approached the great-souled one like the gods Indra.)
But then the Bhojas, Vṛṣṇis and Andhakas approached the descendant of Vṛṣṇi, approaching the great-souled one as the gods approach Indra. (14-58-17)
स तानभ्यर्च्य मेधावी पृष्ट्वा च कुशलं तदा। अभ्यवादयत प्रीतः पितरं मातरं तथा ॥१४-५८-१८॥
sa tān abhyarcya medhāvī pṛṣṭvā ca kuśalaṃ tadā। abhyavādayata prītaḥ pitaraṃ mātaraṃ tathā॥14-58-18॥
