But having heard the words of those brāhmaṇas, Yudhiṣṭhira made an offering to Girīśa (Śiva) in the proper manner. (14-64-2)
आज्येन तर्पयित्वाग्निं विधिवत्संस्कृतेन ह। मन्त्रसिद्धं चरुं कृत्वा पुरोधाः प्रययौ तदा ॥१४-६४-३॥

स गृहीत्वा सुमनसो मन्त्रपूता जनाधिप। मोदकैः पायसेनाथ मांसैश्चोपाहरद्बलिम् ॥१४-६४-४॥

सुमनोभिश्च चित्राभिर्लाजैरुच्चावचैरपि। सर्वं स्विष्टकृतं कृत्वा विधिवद्वेदपारगः ॥ किङ्कराणां ततः पश्चाच्चकार बलिमुत्तमम् ॥१४-६४-५॥
sumanobhiś ca citrābhir lājair uccāvacair api। sarvaṃ sviṣṭakṛtaṃ kṛtvā vidhivad vedapāragaḥ॥ kiṅkarāṇāṃ tataḥ paścāc cakāra balim uttamam॥14-64-5॥

(With flowers and with variegated roasted grains of various kinds also, all the sviṣṭakṛt having performed according to rule, the one accomplished in the Vedas; for the attendants, then afterward, performed an excellent offering.)
With flowers and various kinds of roasted grains, after duly performing all the sviṣṭakṛt rites according to the rules, the one learned in the Vedas then rendered an excellent offering for the attendants. (14-64-5)
यक्षेन्द्राय कुबेराय मणिभद्राय चैव ह। तथान्येषां च यक्षाणां भूताधिपतयश्च ये ॥१४-६४-६॥

(To the lord of the yakṣas, to Kubera, to Maṇibhadra, and indeed verily; likewise, of others and of yakṣas, and the lords of beings who;)
To the lord of the yakṣas, Kubera, Maṇibhadra, and indeed also, likewise to the other yakṣas and all those who are lords of beings. (14-64-6)
कृसरेण समांसेन निवापैस्तिलसंयुतैः। शुशुभे स्थानमत्यर्थं देवदेवस्य पार्थिव ॥१४-६४-७॥
kṛsareṇa samāṃsena nivāpais tilasaṃyutaiḥ। śuśubhe sthānam atyarthaṃ devadevasya pārthiva ॥14-64-7॥

O king, the place of the god of gods shone exceedingly with gruel, flesh, and offerings of parched grain mixed with sesame seeds. (14-64-7)
कृत्वा तु पूजां रुद्रस्य गणानां चैव सर्वशः। ययौ व्यासं पुरस्कृत्य नृपो रत्ननिधिं प्रति ॥१४-६४-८॥
kṛtvā tu pūjāṃ rudrasya gaṇānāṃ caiva sarvaśaḥ। yayau vyāsaṃ puraskṛtya nṛpo ratnanidhiṃ prati॥14-64-8॥

(Having performed worship of Rudra and also of the hosts in all ways, but the king, placing Vyāsa in front, went towards the treasury of gems.)
After duly performing the worship of Rudra and his attendants in every way, the king, with Vyāsa leading, proceeded to the treasury of gems. (14-64-8)
पूजयित्वा धनाध्यक्षं प्रणिपत्याभिवाद्य च। सुमनोभिर्विचित्राभिरपूपैः कृसरेण च ॥१४-६४-९॥
pūjayitvā dhanādhyakṣaṃ praṇipatyābhivādya ca। sumanobhir vicitrābhir apūpaiḥ kṛsareṇa ca॥14-64-9॥

शङ्खादींश्च निधीन्सर्वान्निधिपालांश्च सर्वशः। अर्चयित्वा द्विजाग्र्यान्स स्वस्ति वाच्य च वीर्यवान् ॥१४-६४-१०॥
śaṅkhādīṁś ca nidhīn sarvān nidhipālāṁś ca sarvaśaḥ। arcayitvā dvijāgryān sa svasti vācya ca vīryavān ॥14-64-10॥

(Conch and others and all treasures, and guardians of treasures in every way, having worshipped the foremost Brahmins, he, auspiciousness, may be spoken and the mighty one.)
Having worshipped the conches, all the treasures, and all the guardians of the treasures in every way, and having shown reverence to the foremost Brahmins, he—the mighty one—may be wished well. (14-64-10)
तेषां पुण्याहघोषेण तेजसा समवस्थितः। प्रीतिमान्स कुरुश्रेष्ठः खानयामास तं निधिम् ॥१४-६४-११॥
teṣāṃ puṇyāhaghoṣeṇa tejasā samavasthitaḥ। prītimāns kuruśreṣṭhaḥ khānayāmāsa taṃ nidhim ॥14-64-11॥
[तेषां (teṣām) - of them; पुण्याहघोषेण (puṇyāhaghoṣeṇa) - by the proclamation of auspicious rites; तेजसा (tejasā) - by the brilliance; समवस्थितः (samavasthitaḥ) - standing firmly; प्रीतिमान् (prītimān) - joyful; कुरुश्रेष्ठः (kuruśreṣṭhaḥ) - the best of the Kurus; खानयामास (khānayāmāsa) - caused to be dug; तम् (tam) - that; निधिम् (nidhim) - treasure;]
(Of them, by the proclamation of auspicious rites, by the brilliance, standing firmly, joyful, the best of the Kurus caused that treasure to be dug.)
While the proclamation of auspicious rites resounded among them and with great brilliance, the joyful chief of the Kurus firmly caused that treasure to be unearthed. (14-64-11)
ततः पात्र्यः सकरकाः साश्मन्तकमनोरमाः। भृङ्गाराणि कटाहानि कलशान्वर्धमानकान् ॥१४-६४-१२॥
tataḥ pātryaḥ sakarakāḥ sāśmantakama-noramāḥ. bhṛṅgārāṇi kaṭāhāni kalaśān vardhamānakān ॥14-64-12॥

बहूनि च विचित्राणि भाजनानि सहस्रशः। उद्धारयामास तदा धर्मराजो युधिष्ठिरः ॥१४-६४-१३॥

Then King Yudhishthira, the Dharma-rāja, caused many and various vessels—by the thousands—to be brought up. (14-64-13)
तेषां लक्षणमप्यासीन्महान्करपुटस्तथा। त्रिलक्षं भाजनं राजंस्तुलार्धमभवन्नृप ॥१४-६४-१४॥

वारणाश्च महाराज सहस्रशतसंमिताः। शकटानि रथाश्चैव तावदेव करेणवः ॥ खराणां पुरुषाणां च परिसङ्ख्या न विद्यते ॥१४-६४-१६॥
vāraṇāś ca mahārāja sahasraśatasammitāḥ। śakaṭāni rathāś caiva tāvadeva kareṇavaḥ॥ kharāṇāṃ puruṣāṇāṃ ca parisaṅkhyā na vidyate॥14-64-16॥

एतद्वित्तं तदभवद्यदुद्दध्रे युधिष्ठिरः। षोडशाष्टौ चतुर्विंशत्सहस्रं भारलक्षणम् ॥१४-६४-१७॥
etadvittaṃ tadabhavadyaduddadhre yudhiṣṭhiraḥ। ṣoḍaśāṣṭau caturviṃśatsahasraṃ bhāralakṣaṇam ॥14-64-17॥

एतेष्वाधाय तद्द्रव्यं पुनरभ्यर्च्य पाण्डवः। महादेवं प्रति ययौ पुरं नागाह्वयं प्रति ॥१४-६४-१८॥
eteṣv ādhāya tad dravyaṃ punar abhyarcya pāṇḍavaḥ। mahādevaṃ prati yayau puraṃ nāgāhvayaṃ prati॥14-64-18॥

(Having deposited that object in these (places), having again worshipped, the Pāṇḍava went towards Maheśvara, towards the city Nāgāhvaya.)
After placing that object in these locations and having worshipped again, the Pāṇḍava went towards Maheśvara and to the city named Nāgāhvaya. (14-64-18)
द्वैपायनाभ्यनुज्ञातः पुरस्कृत्य पुरोहितम्। गोयुते गोयुते चैव न्यवसत्पुरुषर्षभः ॥१४-६४-१९॥
dvaipāyanābhyanujñātaḥ puraskṛtya purohitam। goyute goyute caiva nyavasatpuruṣarṣabhaḥ ॥14-64-19॥

सा पुराभिमुखी राजञ्जगाम महती चमूः। कृच्छ्राद्द्रविणभारार्ता हर्षयन्ती कुरूद्वहान् ॥१४-६४-२०॥
