(In that sacrifice commenced but eloquent disputants, logical arguments, many spoke, desiring to conquer each other.)

ददृशुस्तं नृपतयो यज्ञस्य विधिमुत्तमम्। देवेन्द्रस्येव विहितं भीमेन कुरुनन्दन ॥१४-८७-२॥

यूपांश्च शास्त्रपठितान्दारवान्हेमभूषितान्। उपकॢप्तान्यथाकालं विधिवद्भूरिवर्चसः ॥१४-८७-५॥

(Land-born, water-born, and whichever animals, O lord, all those certainly brought together, those kings saw.)
O lord, the kings saw all those animals—whether born on land or in water, and any others—that had been assembled together. (14-87-6)
गाश्चैव महिषीश्चैव तथा वृद्धाः स्त्रियोऽपि च। औदकानि च सत्त्वानि श्वापदानि वयांसि च ॥१४-८७-७॥

जरायुजान्यण्डजानि स्वेदजान्युद्भिदानि च। पर्वतानूपवन्यानि भूतानि ददृशुश्च ते ॥१४-८७-८॥
jarāyujāny aṇḍajāni svedajāny udbhidāni ca। parvatānūpavanyāni bhūtāni dadṛśuś ca te॥14-87-8॥

एवं प्रमुदितं सर्वं पशुगोधनधान्यतः। यज्ञवाटं नृपा दृष्ट्वा परं विस्मयमागमन् ॥ ब्राह्मणानां विशां चैव बहुमृष्टान्नमृद्धिमत् ॥१४-८७-९॥

[एवं (evaṃ) - thus; प्रमुदितं (pramuditaṃ) - delighted; सर्वं (sarvaṃ) - all; पशु-गोधन-धान्यतः (paśu-godhana-dhānyataḥ) - from animals, cattle, and grain; यज्ञवाटं (yajñavāṭam) - sacrificial enclosure; नृपा (nṛpā) - the kings; दृष्ट्वा (dṛṣṭvā) - having seen; परं (paraṃ) - supreme; विस्मयम् (vismayam) - astonishment; आगमन् (āgaman) - they came (to); ब्राह्मणानां (brāhmaṇānām) - of Brāhmaṇas; विशां (viśām) - of the people; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; बहु-मृष्ट-अन्न-मृद्धिमत् (bahu-mṛṣṭa-anna-mṛddhimat) - with much well-cooked, abundant food;]
(Thus, all (was) delighted from animals, cattle, and grain. The kings, having seen the sacrificial enclosure, came to supreme astonishment (on account of) the Brāhmaṇas’ and the people’s much well-cooked, abundant food. (14-87-9))
Thus, everything was joyful with abundance of animals, cattle, and grain. The kings, seeing the sacrificial enclosure, were greatly astonished at the plentiful, sumptuous food of the Brāhmaṇas and the people. (14-87-9)
पूर्णे शतसहस्रे तु विप्राणां तत्र भुञ्जताम्। दुन्दुभिर्मेघनिर्घोषो मुहुर्मुहुरताड्यत ॥१४-८७-१०॥
pūrṇe śatasahasre tu viprāṇāṁ tatra bhuñjatām। dundubhir-meghanirghoṣo muhurmuhur-atāḍyata ॥14-87-10॥
[पूर्णे (pūrṇe) - when (the number) was full; शतसहस्रे (śata-sahasre) - of one hundred thousand; तु (tu) - but; विप्राणां (viprāṇām) - of Brāhmaṇas; तत्र (tatra) - there; भुञ्जताम् (bhuñjatām) - while eating; दुन्दुभिः (dundubhiḥ) - kettle drum; मेघनिर्घोषः (megha-nirghoṣaḥ) - with the roar of thunder; मuhur् (muhur) - again; मuhur् (muhur) - again; अताड्यत (atāḍyata) - was struck;]
(When the one hundred thousand Brāhmaṇas were there eating, the kettledrum with the roar of thunder was struck again and again.)

विननादासकृत्सोऽथ दिवसे दिवसे तदा। एवं स ववृते यज्ञो धर्मराजस्य धीमतः ॥१४-८७-११॥
vinanādāsakṛt so 'tha divase divase tadā। evaṁ sa vavṛte yajño dharmarājasya dhīmataḥ ॥14-87-11॥

(With loud noise, repeatedly, he then, day by day, at that time; thus, that sacrifice of Dharmarāja, of the wise, was conducted.)

जम्बूद्वीपो हि सकलो नानाजनपदायुतः। राजन्नदृश्यतैकस्थो राज्ञस्तस्मिन्महाक्रतौ ॥१४-८७-१३॥

(Jambūdvīpa indeed entire endowed with many peoples and countries, O king, was seen united in one place of the king in that great sacrifice.)

तत्र जातिसहस्राणि पुरुषाणां ततस्ततः। गृहीत्वा धनमाजग्मुर्बहूनि भरतर्षभ ॥१४-८७-१४॥
