आश्रमश्चैव पुण्याख्यः काश्यपस्य महात्मनः। ऋश्यशृङ्गः सुतो यस्य तपस्वी संयतेन्द्रियः ॥०३-११०-२॥
āśramaś caiva puṇyākhyaḥ kāśyapasya mahātmanaḥ। ṛśyaśṛṅgaḥ suto yasya tapasvī saṁyatendriyaḥ॥03-110-2॥

tapaso yaḥ prabhāvena varṣayām āsa vāsavam। anāvṛṣṭyāṃ bhayād yasya vavarṣa balavṛtrahā ॥03-110-3॥

मृग्यां जातः स तेजस्वी काश्यपस्य सुतः प्रभुः। विषये लोमपादस्य यश्चकाराद्भुतं महत् ॥०३-११०-४॥
mṛgyāṃ jātaḥ sa tejasvī kāśyapasya sutaḥ prabhuḥ। viṣaye lomapādasya yaścakārādbhutaṃ mahat ॥03-110-4॥

निवर्तितेषु सस्येषु यस्मै शान्तां ददौ नृपः। लोमपादो दुहितरं सावित्रीं सविता यथा ॥०३-११०-५॥

किमर्थं च भयाच्छक्रस्तस्य बालस्य धीमतः। अनावृष्ट्यां प्रवृत्तायां ववर्ष बलवृत्रहा ॥०३-११०-७॥
kimarthaṃ ca bhayāc chakras tasya bālasya dhīmataḥ। anāvṛṣṭyāṃ pravṛttāyāṃ vavarṣa balavṛtrahā॥03-110-7॥

kathaṁrūpā ca śāntābhūd rājaputrī yatavratā। lobhayāmāsa yā ceto mṛgabhūtasya tasya vai॥03-110-8॥

एतन्मे भगवन्सर्वं विस्तरेण यथातथम्। वक्तुमर्हसि शुश्रूषोरृष्यशृङ्गस्य चेष्टितम् ॥०३-११०-१०॥
etan me bhagavan sarvaṃ vistareṇa yathā tatham। vaktum arhasi śuśrūṣor ṛṣyaśṛṅgasya ceṣṭitam ॥03-110-10॥

(Having approached the great lake, Kashyapa remained in austerity. For a long time, the sage, honored by the divine sages, was exhausted.)
Kashyapa, having reached the great lake, remained there in austerity. The sage, esteemed by the divine sages, grew exhausted over a long period. (03-110-13)
तस्य रेतः प्रचस्कन्द दृष्ट्वाप्सरसमुर्वशीम्। अप्सूपस्पृशतो राजन्मृगी तच्चापिबत्तदा ॥०३-११०-१४॥
tasya retaḥ pracaskanda dṛṣṭvā apsarasam urvaśīm। apsu upaspṛśataḥ rājan mṛgī tat ca apibat tadā ॥03-110-14॥
[तस्य (tasya) - his; रेतः (retaḥ) - semen; प्रचस्कन्द (pracaskanda) - flowed; दृष्ट्वा (dṛṣṭvā) - having seen; अप्सरसम् (apsarasam) - the Apsaras; उर्वशीम् (urvaśīm) - Urvaśī; अप्सु (apsu) - in the waters; उपस्पृशतः (upaspṛśataḥ) - touching (bathing) (of him); राजन् (rājan) - O king; मृगी (mṛgī) - a female deer; तत् (tat) - that; च (ca) - and; अपिबत् (apibat) - drank; तदा (tadā) - then;]
(His semen flowed having seen the Apsaras Urvaśī; while he was touching (bathing) in the waters, O king, a female deer then drank that.)

saha toyena tṛṣitā sā garbhiṇy abhavan nṛpa। amoghatvād vidheś caiva bhāvitvād daivanirmitāt॥03-110-15॥
[सह (saha) - together; तोयेन (toyena) - with water; तृषिता (tṛṣitā) - thirsty (female); सा (sā) - she; गर्भिणी (garbhiṇī) - pregnant; अभवन् (abhavan) - became; नृप (nṛpa) - O king; अमोघत्वात् (amoghatvāt) - because of unfailing nature; विधेः (vidheḥ) - of destiny; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; भावित्वात् (bhāvitvāt) - because of inevitability; दैवनिर्मितात् (daivanirmitāt) - from divine ordainment;]
(Together with water, the thirsty she became pregnant, O king, because of the unfailing nature of destiny and indeed because of the inevitability from divine ordainment.)

तस्यर्श्यशृङ्गं शिरसि राजन्नासीन्महात्मनः। तेनर्श्यशृङ्ग इत्येवं तदा स प्रथितोऽभवत् ॥०३-११०-१७॥
tasya ṛṣyaśṛṅgaṃ śirasi rājan āsīn mahātmanaḥ। tena ṛṣyaśṛṅga ity evaṃ tadā sa prathito 'bhavat॥03-110-17॥
[तस्य (tasya) - of him; ऋश्यशृङ्गं (ṛṣyaśṛṅgaṃ) - deer-horn; शिरसि (śirasi) - on the head; राजन् (rājan) - O king; आसीत् (āsīt) - was; महात्मनः (mahātmanaḥ) - of the great-souled one; तेन (tena) - by that; ऋश्यशृङ्ग (ṛṣyaśṛṅga) - Ṛṣyaśṛṅga; इति (iti) - thus; एवम् (evam) - in this way; तदा (tadā) - then; सः (saḥ) - he; प्रथितः (prathitaḥ) - well-known; अभवत् (abhavat) - became;]
(Of him, a deer-horn on the head, O king, was (present)—of the great-souled one. By that, Ṛṣyaśṛṅga thus, in this way, then he became well-known.)
O king, of that great-souled one, a deer-horn was on his head. Therefore he then became known as Ṛṣyaśṛṅga. (03-110-17)
न तेन दृष्टपूर्वोऽन्यः पितुरन्यत्र मानुषः। तस्मात्तस्य मनो नित्यं ब्रह्मचर्येऽभवन्नृप ॥०३-११०-१८॥
na tena dṛṣṭapūrvo'nyaḥ pitur anyatra mānuṣaḥ। tasmāt tasya mano nityaṃ brahmacarye'bhavan nṛpa ॥03-110-18॥
[न (na) - not; तेन (tena) - by him; दृष्टपूर्वः (dṛṣṭapūrvaḥ) - having been seen before; अन्यः (anyaḥ) - other; पितुः (pituḥ) - of the father; अन्यत्र (anyatra) - apart from; elsewhere; मानुषः (mānuṣaḥ) - human being; तस्मात् (tasmāt) - therefore; तस्य (tasya) - his; मन् (manas) - mind; नित्यं (nityaṃ) - always; ब्रह्मचर्ये (brahmacarye) - in celibacy; in the vow of brahmacarya; अभवत् (abhavat) - was; became; नृप (nṛpa) - O king;]
(Not by him had any human, other than the father, been seen before; therefore his mind was always in celibacy, O king.)

एतस्मिन्नेव काले तु सखा दशरथस्य वै। लोमपाद इति ख्यातो अङ्गानामीश्वरोऽभवत् ॥०३-११०-१९॥
etasminn eva kāle tu sakhā daśarathasya vai। lomapāda iti khyāto aṅgānām īśvaro'bhavat॥03-110-19॥

(In this very time but the friend of Daśaratha indeed, Lomapāda thus (was) famous as the lord of (the people of) Aṅga became.)
At this very time, however, Daśaratha's friend Lomapāda, famed as such, became the lord of the people of Aṅga. (03-110-19)
तेन कामः कृतो मिथ्या ब्राह्मणेभ्य इति श्रुतिः। स ब्राह्मणैः परित्यक्तस्तदा वै जगतीपतिः ॥०३-११०-२०॥
tena kāmaḥ kṛto mithyā brāhmaṇebhya iti śrutiḥ. sa brāhmaṇaiḥ parityaktaḥ tadā vai jagatīpatiḥ ॥03-110-20॥
[तेन (tena) - by him; कामः (kāmaḥ) - desire; कृतः (kṛtaḥ) - was done; मिथ्या (mithyā) - falsely; ब्राह्मणेभ्य (brāhmaṇebhya) - unto the Brāhmaṇas; इति (iti) - thus; श्रुतिः (śrutiḥ) - the statement; स (sa) - he; ब्राह्मणैः (brāhmaṇaiḥ) - by the Brāhmaṇas; परित्यक्तः (parityaktaḥ) - abandoned; तदा (tadā) - then; वै (vai) - indeed; जगतीपतिः (jagatīpatiḥ) - the lord of the earth;]
(By him desire was done falsely unto the Brāhmaṇas thus the statement. He by the Brāhmaṇas abandoned, then indeed the lord of the earth.)
Therefore, it is stated that desire was wrongly committed with respect to the Brāhmaṇas. Then, the lord of the earth was indeed abandoned by the Brāhmaṇas. (03-110-20)
पुरोहितापचाराच्च तस्य राज्ञो यदृच्छया। न ववर्ष सहस्राक्षस्ततोऽपीड्यन्त वै प्रजाः ॥०३-११०-२१॥
purohitāpacārāc ca tasya rājño yadṛcchayā। na vavarṣa sahasrākṣas tato'pīḍyanta vai prajāḥ॥03-110-21॥
[पुरोहितापचारात् (purohitāpacārāt) - from the offence to the priest; च (ca) - and; तस्य (tasya) - of that; राज्ञः (rājñaḥ) - king; यदृच्छया (yadṛcchayā) - by his own will; न (na) - not; ववर्ष (vavarṣa) - rained; सहस्राक्षः (sahasrākṣaḥ) - (the) thousand-eyed (Indra); ततः (tataḥ) - therefore; 'अपीड्यन्त ('apīḍyanta) - were afflicted; वै (vai) - indeed; प्रजाः (prajāḥ) - people;]
(And from the offence to the priest and by the king's own will, the thousand-eyed (Indra) did not rain; therefore, indeed, the people were afflicted.)
Because of the king's offence against the priest and his arbitrary will, the thousand-eyed Indra did not send rain, and so the people were indeed afflicted. (03-110-21)
स ब्राह्मणान्पर्यपृच्छत्तपोयुक्तान्मनीषिणः। प्रवर्षणे सुरेन्द्रस्य समर्थान्पृथिवीपतिः ॥०३-११०-२२॥
sa brāhmaṇān paryapṛcchat tapo-yuktān manīṣiṇaḥ। pravaṛṣaṇe surendrasya samarthān pṛthivī-patiḥ॥03-110-22॥
[स (sa) - he; ब्राह्मणान् (brāhmaṇān) - Brāhmaṇas; पर्यपृच्छत् (paryapṛcchat) - asked; तपःयुक्तान् (tapo-yuktān) - devoted to austerity; मनीषिणः (manīṣiṇaḥ) - wise; प्रवर्षणे (pravaṛṣaṇe) - in raining; सुरेन्द्रस्य (surendrasya) - of the lord of gods (Indra); समर्थान् (samarthān) - capable; पृथिवीपतिः (pṛthivīpatiḥ) - the king (lord of the earth);]
(He asked the Brāhmaṇas devoted to austerity, the wise, capable of (bringing about) raining of the lord of gods, the king.)
The king, devoted to austerity, asked the wise Brāhmaṇas who were capable of causing Indra, the lord of gods, to bring rain. (03-110-22)
कथं प्रवर्षेत्पर्जन्य उपायः परिदृश्यताम्। तमूचुश्चोदितास्तेन स्वमतानि मनीषिणः ॥०३-११०-२३॥
kathaṁ pravaṛṣet parjanya upāyaḥ paridṛśyatām. tam ūcuḥ coditāḥ tena svamatāni manīṣiṇaḥ ॥03-110-23॥
[कथं (kathaṁ) - how; प्रवर्षेत् (pravaṛṣet) - should rain; पर्जन्य (parjanya) - cloud; उपायः (upāyaḥ) - means; परिदृश्यताम् (paridṛśyatām) - let it be considered; तम् (tam) - him; ऊचुः (ūcuḥ) - they said; चोदिताः (coditāḥ) - impelled; तेन (tena) - by him; स्वमतानि (svamatāni) - their own opinions; मनीषिणः (manīṣiṇaḥ) - wise people;]
(How should the cloud rain? Let a means be considered. To him, the wise, impelled by him, said their own opinions.)
“How should the cloud rain? Let a method be considered.” Then, impelled by him, the wise men spoke their own opinions. (03-110-23)
तत्र त्वेको मुनिवरस्तं राजानमुवाच ह। कुपितास्तव राजेन्द्र ब्राह्मणा निस्कृतिं चर ॥०३-११०-२४॥
tatra tveko munivaras taṃ rājānam uvāca ha। kupitās tava rājendra brāhmaṇā niskṛtiṃ cara ॥03-110-24॥
[तत्र (tatra) - there; तु (tu) - but; एकः (ekaḥ) - one; मुनिवरः (munivaraḥ) - excellent sage; तम् (tam) - to him; राजानम् (rājānam) - king; उवाच (uvāca) - said; ह (ha) - indeed; कुपिताः (kupitāḥ) - angered; तव (tava) - your; राजेन्द्र (rājendra) - O king; ब्राह्मणाः (brāhmaṇāḥ) - brāhmaṇas; निस्कृतिम् (niskṛtim) - atonement; चर (cara) - perform;]
(There but one excellent sage to him king said indeed. Angered your O king brāhmaṇas atonement perform.)
But there, one excellent sage indeed said to the king: O Rajendra, as your brāhmaṇas are angered, perform atonement. (03-110-24)
ऋश्यशृङ्गं मुनिसुतमानयस्व च पार्थिव। वानेयमनभिज्ञं च नारीणामार्जवे रतम् ॥०३-११०-२५॥
Ṛśyaśṛṅgaṃ munisutam ānayasva ca pārthiva। vāneyam anabhijñaṃ ca nārīṇām ārjave ratam ॥03-110-25॥
[ऋश्यशृङ्गं (ṛśyaśṛṅgam) - Ṛśyaśṛṅga; (the proper name of a sage;) मुनिसुतम् (munisutam) - sage's son; आनयस्व (ānayasva) - bring; च (ca) - and; पार्थिव (pārthiva) - O king; वानेयम् (vāneyam) - forest-dweller; अनभिज्ञं (anabhijñam) - not acquainted; च (ca) - and; नारीणाम् (nārīṇām) - of women; आर्जवे (ārjave) - in simplicity; रतम् (ratam) - delighted;]
(Ṛśyaśṛṅga, sage's son, bring and, O king. Forest-dweller, not-acquainted and, of women, in simplicity, delighted.)
O king, bring Ṛśyaśṛṅga, the sage's son, who is a forest-dweller, unacquainted with women, and delights in simplicity. (03-110-25)
स चेदवतरेद्राजन्विषयं ते महातपाः। सद्यः प्रवर्षेत्पर्जन्य इति मे नात्र संशयः ॥०३-११०-२६॥
sa ced avataret rājan viṣayaṃ te mahātapāḥ। sadyaḥ pravarṣet parjanya iti me nātra saṃśayaḥ॥03-110-26॥
[स (sa) - he; चेत् (cet) - if; अवतरेत् (avataret) - should descend; राजन् (rājan) - O king; विषयम् (viṣayam) - territory; ते (te) - your; महातपाः (mahātapāḥ) - the great ascetic; सद्यः (sadyaḥ) - immediately; प्रवर्षेत् (pravarṣet) - would cause to rain; पर्जन्यः (parjanyaḥ) - the rain-cloud; इति (iti) - thus; मे (me) - to me; न (na) - not; अत्र (atra) - here; संशयः (saṃśayaḥ) - doubt;]
(He if should descend O king your territory the great ascetic, immediately would cause to rain the rain-cloud, thus to me not here doubt.)
O king, if that great ascetic were to descend into your territory, the rain-cloud would immediately begin to pour; of this I have no doubt at all. (03-110-26)
एतच्छ्रुत्वा वचो राजन्कृत्वा निस्कृतिमात्मनः। स गत्वा पुनरागच्छत्प्रसन्नेषु द्विजातिषु ॥ राजानमागतं दृष्ट्वा प्रतिसञ्जगृहुः प्रजाः ॥०३-११०-२७॥
etat-śrutvā vaco rājan kṛtvā niskṛtim ātmanaḥ। sa gatvā punar āgacchat prasanneṣu dvijātiṣu ॥ rājānam āgatam dṛṣṭvā pratisañjagṛhuḥ prajāḥ ॥03-110-27॥
[एतत् (etat) - this; श्रुत्वा (śrutvā) - having heard; वचः (vacaḥ) - word; राजन् (rājan) - O king; कृत्वा (kṛtvā) - having performed; निस्कृतिम् (niskṛtim) - atonement; आत्मनः (ātmanaḥ) - for himself; सः (saḥ) - he; गत्वा (gatvā) - having gone; पुनः (punaḥ) - again; आगच्छत् (āgacchat) - returned; प्रसन्नेषु (prasanneṣu) - being pleased; द्विजातिषु (dvijātiṣu) - among the twice-born; राजानम् (rājānam) - the king; आगतं (āgatam) - having arrived; दृष्ट्वा (dṛṣṭvā) - having seen; प्रतिसञ्जगृहुः (pratisañjagṛhuḥ) - received again; प्रजाः (prajāḥ) - the subjects;]
(Having heard this word, O king, having performed atonement for himself, he, having gone, again returned when the twice-born were pleased. Having seen the king arrived, the subjects received (him) again. (03-110-27))
O king, after hearing this word and making atonement for himself, he went away and again returned when the twice-born were pleased. Seeing the king having arrived, his subjects welcomed him back. (03-110-27)
ततोऽङ्गपतिराहूय सचिवान्मन्त्रकोविदान्। ऋश्यशृङ्गागमे यत्नमकरोन्मन्त्रनिश्चये ॥०३-११०-२८॥
tato'ṅgapatir āhūya sacivān mantrakovidān। ṛṣyaśṛṅgāgame yatnam akarot mantraniścaye ॥03-110-28॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; अङ्गपतिः (aṅgapatiḥ) - the lord of Aṅga; आहूय (āhūya) - having summoned; सचिवान् (sacivān) - ministers; मन्त्रकोविदान् (mantrakovidān) - those skilled in counsel; ऋश्यशृङ्गागमे (ṛṣyaśṛṅgāgame) - in the matter of Ṛśyaśṛṅga's coming; यत्नम् (yatnam) - effort; अकरोत् (akarot) - made; मन्त्रनिश्र्चये (mantraniścaye) - for the decision of policy;]
(Then the lord of Aṅga, having summoned ministers skilled in counsel, in the matter of Ṛśyaśṛṅga's coming, made effort for the decision of policy.)
Then the lord of Aṅga, having called his ministers who were skilled in counsel, made efforts to decide the course of action regarding Ṛśyaśṛṅga's arrival. (03-110-28)
सोऽध्यगच्छदुपायं तु तैरमात्यैः सहाच्युतः। शास्त्रज्ञैरलमर्थज्ञैर्नीत्यां च परिनिष्ठितैः ॥०३-११०-२९॥
so'dhyagacchadupāyaṁ tu tairamātyaiḥ sahācyutaḥ। śāstrajñairalamarthajñairnītyāṁ ca pariniṣṭhitaiḥ॥03-110-29॥
[सः (saḥ) - he; अध्यगच्छत् (adhyagacchat) - understood; found out; उपायं (upāyam) - means; method; तु (tu) - but; तैः (taiḥ) - by those; अमात्यैः (amātyaiḥ) - with ministers; सह (saha) - together with; अच्युतः (acyutaḥ) - Acyuta (proper name, or the infallible one); शास्त्रज्ञैः (śāstrajñaiḥ) - by those who know the śāstra (scriptures); अलम् (alam) - capable; proficient; अर्थज्ञैः (arthajñaiḥ) - by those who know the (true) meaning (of texts, or wealth); नीत्याम् (nītyām) - in policy; च (ca) - and; परिनिष्ठितैः (pariniṣṭhitaiḥ) - well-versed; accomplished;]
(He indeed understood the means, but together with those ministers and Acyuta, by those who knew the scriptures, were proficient and knew the meaning, and were accomplished in policy.)
He understood the proper means, but only after consulting with those ministers and Acyuta, who were well-versed in the scriptures, proficient in practical wisdom, and fully accomplished in matters of policy. (03-110-29)
तत आनाययामास वारमुख्या महीपतिः। वेश्याः सर्वत्र निष्णातास्ता उवाच स पार्थिवः ॥०३-११०-३०॥
tat ānāyayāmāsa vāramukhyā mahīpatiḥ। veśyāḥ sarvatra niṣṇātās tā uvāca sa pārthivaḥ॥03-110-30॥
[तत (tat) - that; आनाययामास (ānāyayāmāsa) - caused to be brought; वारमुख्या (vāramukhyā) - chief courtesans; महीपतिः (mahīpatiḥ) - the king; वेश्याः (veśyāḥ) - prostitutes; सर्वत्र (sarvatra) - everywhere; निष्णाताः (niṣṇātāḥ) - well versed; ता (tā) - them; उवाच (uvāca) - spoke; स (sa) - he; पार्थिवः (pārthivaḥ) - the king;]
(That, the king caused the chief courtesans to be brought. The king spoke to those prostitutes who were well versed everywhere.)
Then the king summoned the chief courtesans. The king spoke to those prostitutes, skilled everywhere. (03-110-30)
ऋश्यशृङ्गमृषेः पुत्रमानयध्वमुपायतः। लोभयित्वाभिविश्वास्य विषयं मम शोभनाः ॥०३-११०-३१॥
ṛśyaśṛṅgam ṛṣeḥ putram ānayadhvam upāyataḥ। lobhayitvā abhi-viśvasya viṣayam mama śobhanāḥ ॥03-110-31॥
[ऋश्यशृङ्गमृषेः (ṛśyaśṛṅga-ṛṣeḥ) - of the sage Ṛśyaśṛṅga; पुत्रम् (putram) - son; आनयध्वम् (ānayadhvam) - bring (you all); उपायतः (upāyataḥ) - by means; लोभयित्वा (lobhayitvā) - by enticing; अभिविश्वास्य (abhi-viśvasya) - having caused to trust; विषयम् (viṣayam) - region; मम (mama) - my; शोभनाः (śobhanāḥ) - O beautiful women;]
(O beautiful women, by some means, after enticing and causing the son of the sage Ṛśyaśṛṅga to trust, bring him to my region.)
O beautiful women, by using some means, after winning the trust of and enticing the son of the sage Ṛśyaśṛṅga, bring him to my country. (03-110-31)
ता राजभयभीताश्च शापभीताश्च योषितः। अशक्यमूचुस्तत्कार्यं विवर्णा गतचेतसः ॥०३-११०-३२॥
tā rājabhaya-bhītāś ca śāpa-bhītāś ca yoṣitaḥ। aśakyam ūcus tat kāryam vivarṇā gata-cetasaḥ॥03-110-32॥
[ता (tā) - they (feminine; the women); राजभयभीताः (rāja-bhaya-bhītāḥ) - frightened of the fear of the king; च (ca) - and; शापभीताः (śāpa-bhītāḥ) - afraid of a curse; च (ca) - and; योषितः (yoṣitaḥ) - the women; अशक्यम् (aśakyam) - impossible; ऊचुः (ūcuḥ) - (they) said; तत् (tat) - that; कार्यं (kāryam) - task; action; विवर्णाः (vivarṇāḥ) - pale-faced; गतचेतसः (gata-cetasaḥ) - having lost consciousness; bewildered;]
(They, the women, frightened of the fear of the king and afraid of a curse, said that task is impossible, pale and having lost consciousness.)
The women, terrified both of the king and of a curse, said with pale faces and bewildered minds that the task was impossible. (03-110-32)
तत्र त्वेका जरद्योषा राजानमिदमब्रवीत्। प्रयतिष्ये महाराज तमानेतुं तपोधनम् ॥०३-११०-३३॥
tatra tvekā jaradyoṣā rājānam idam abravīt। prayatiṣye mahārāja tam ānetuṃ tapodhanam॥03-110-33॥
[तत्र (tatra) - there; तु (tu) - but; एका (ekā) - one; जरद्योषा (jaradyoṣā) - an old woman; राजानम् (rājānam) - the king (to the king); इदम् (idam) - this; अब्रवीत् (abravīt) - said; प्रयतिष्ये (prayatiṣye) - I shall strive; महाराज (mahārāja) - O great king; तम् (tam) - him; आनेतुम् (ānetum) - to bring; तपोधनम् (tapodhanam) - the ascetic (having wealth of austerity);]
(There but one old woman to the king this said: "I shall strive, O great king, to bring him, the ascetic." (03-110-33))
There, however, one old woman said this to the king: "O great king, I shall try to bring that ascetic here." (03-110-33)
अभिप्रेतांस्तु मे कामान्समनुज्ञातुमर्हसि। ततः शक्ष्ये लोभयितुमृश्यशृङ्गमृषेः सुतम् ॥०३-११०-३४॥
abhipretāṁs tu me kāmān samanujñātum arhasi। tataḥ śakṣye lobhayitum ṛśyaśṛṅgam ṛṣeḥ sutam॥03-110-34॥
[अभिप्रेतान् (abhipretān) - desired; तु (tu) - but; मे (me) - my; कामान् (kāmān) - wishes; समनुज्ञातुम् (samanujñātum) - to consent; अर्हसि (arhasi) - you should; ततः (tataḥ) - then; शक्ष्ये (śakṣye) - I shall be able; लोभयितुम् (lobhayitum) - to allure; ऋश्यशृङ्गम् (ṛśyaśṛṅgam) - Ṛśyaśṛṅga; ऋषेः (ṛṣeḥ) - of Ṛṣi; सुतम् (sutam) - son;]
(But you should consent to my desired wishes; then I shall be able to allure Ṛśyaśṛṅga, the son of the Ṛṣi.)
But you should grant my desires; then I will be able to entice Ṛśyaśṛṅga, the son of the sage. (03-110-34)
तस्याः सर्वमभिप्रायमन्वजानात्स पार्थिवः। धनं च प्रददौ भूरि रत्नानि विविधानि च ॥०३-११०-३५॥
tasyāḥ sarvam abhiprāyam anvajānātsa pārthivaḥ। dhanaṃ ca pradadau bhūri ratnāni vividhāni ca॥03-110-35॥
[तस्याः (tasyāḥ) - of her; सर्वम् (sarvam) - all; अभिप्रायम् (abhiprāyam) - wish; अन्वजानात् (anvajānāt) - he knew; सः (saḥ) - he; पार्थिवः (pārthivaḥ) - king; धनम् (dhanam) - wealth; च (ca) - and; प्रददौ (pradadau) - gave; भूरि (bhūri) - much; रत्नानि (ratnāni) - jewels; विविधानि (vividhāni) - various; च (ca) - and;]
(Of her all wish he knew; he king; wealth and gave; much jewels various and.)
The king knew all her wishes; he gave wealth and many various jewels. (03-110-35)
ततो रूपेण सम्पन्ना वयसा च महीपते। स्त्रिय आदाय काश्चित्सा जगाम वनमञ्जसा ॥०३-११०-३६॥
tato rūpeṇa sampannā vayasā ca mahīpate. striya ādāya kāścit sā jagāma vanam añjasā ॥03-110-36॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; रूपेण (rūpeṇa) - with beauty; सम्पन्ना (sampannā) - endowed; वयसा (vayasā) - with youth; च (ca) - and; महीपते (mahīpate) - O king; स्त्रियः (striyaḥ) - women; आदाय (ādāya) - having taken; काश्चित् (kāścit) - some; सा (sā) - she; जगाम (jagāma) - went; वनम् (vanam) - to the forest; अञ्जसा (añjasā) - directly;]
(Then, endowed with beauty and youth, O king, having taken some women, she went directly to the forest.)
Then, O king, she, endowed with beauty and youth, taking some women with her, went directly to the forest. (03-110-36)
