भगवन्तमहं भक्तो यथा मां वेत्थ गोपते। तथा परमतिग्मांशो नान्यं देवं कथञ्चन ॥०३-२८६-१॥
bhagavantam ahaṃ bhakto yathā māṃ vettha gopate। tathā paramatigmāṃśo nānyaṃ devaṃ kathaṃcana ॥03-286-1॥
[भगवन्तम् (bhagavantam) - the Blessed One; the Divine One; अहम् (aham) - I; भक्तः (bhaktaḥ) - devotee; यथा (yathā) - just as; माम् (mām) - me; वेत्थ (vettha) - you know; गोपते (gopate) - O lord of the cowherds; तथा (tathā) - so; परमतिग्मांशः (paramatigmāṃśaḥ) - O supreme effulgent one; न (na) - not; अन्यम् (anyam) - other; देवम् (devam) - god; कथञ्चन (kathaṃcana) - in any way; at all;]
(O Divine One, I devotee as just as me you know, O lord of the cowherds; so, O supreme effulgent one, not other god in any way.)
O Divine One, I am your devotee just as you know me, O lord of the cowherds. In the same way, O supreme effulgent one, I do not regard any other god whatsoever. (03-286-1)
न मे दारा न मे पुत्रा न चात्मा सुहृदो न च। तथेष्टा वै सदा भक्त्या यथा त्वं गोपते मम ॥०३-२८६-२॥
na me dārā na me putrā na cātmā suhṛdo na ca. tatheṣṭā vai sadā bhaktyā yathā tvaṃ gopate mama ॥03-286-2॥
[न (na) - not; मे (me) - of me; दारा (dārā) - wives; न (na) - not; मे (me) - of me; पुत्रा (putrā) - sons; न (na) - not; च (ca) - and; आत्मा (ātmā) - self; सुहृदः (suhṛdaḥ) - friends; न (na) - not; च (ca) - and; तथ (tatha) - thus; इष्टा (iṣṭā) - desired; वै (vai) - indeed; सदा (sadā) - always; भक्त्या (bhaktyā) - with devotion; यथा (yathā) - as; त्वं (tvaṃ) - you; गोपते (gopate) - O lord of cows; मम (mama) - of me;]
(Not for me wives, not for me sons, nor self, friends nor; thus indeed always with devotion as you, O lord of cows, for me.)
I have no wives, no sons, not even myself or friends; none are as always dear to me with devotion as you, O lord of cows, are to me. (03-286-2)
इष्टानां च महात्मानो भक्तानां च न संशयः। कुर्वन्ति भक्तिमिष्टां च जानीषे त्वं च भास्कर ॥०३-२८६-३॥
iṣṭānāṃ ca mahātmāno bhaktānāṃ ca na saṃśayaḥ। kurvanti bhaktimiṣṭāṃ ca jānīṣe tvaṃ ca bhāskara॥03-286-3॥
[इष्टानां (iṣṭānāṃ) - of the desired ones; च (ca) - and; महात्मानः (mahātmānaḥ) - great souls; भक्तानां (bhaktānāṃ) - of devotees; च (ca) - and; न (na) - not; संशयः (saṃśayaḥ) - doubt; कुर्वन्ति (kurvanti) - they perform; भक्तिम् (bhaktim) - devotion; इष्टां (iṣṭāṃ) - desired; च (ca) - and; जानीषे (jānīṣe) - you know; त्वं (tvaṃ) - you; च (ca) - and; भास्कर (bhāskara) - O Bhāskara;]
(Of the desired ones and great souls, of devotees and, not doubt; they perform devotion desired and, you know, you and O Bhāskara.)
There is no doubt that great souls and devotees perform the desired devotion; you know this as well, O Bhāskara. (03-286-3)
इष्टो भक्तश्च मे कर्णो न चान्यद्दैवतं दिवि। जानीत इति वै कृत्वा भगवानाह मद्धितम् ॥०३-२८६-४॥
iṣṭo bhaktaś ca me karṇo na ca anyad daivataṃ divi। jānīta iti vai kṛtvā bhagavān āha mad-dhitam ॥03-286-4॥
[इष्टः (iṣṭaḥ) - beloved; भक्तः (bhaktaḥ) - devotee; च (ca) - and; मे (me) - to me; कर्णः (karṇaḥ) - Karṇa; न (na) - not; च (ca) - and; अन्यत् (anyat) - another; दैवतम् (daivatam) - deity; दिवि (divi) - in heaven; जानीत (jānīta) - should be known; इति (iti) - thus; वै (vai) - indeed; कृत्वा (kṛtvā) - having done; भगवान् (bhagavān) - the Lord; आह (āha) - said; मद्धितम् (mad-dhitam) - for my benefit;]
(Beloved devotee and to me Karṇa, not and another deity in heaven. Should be known thus indeed having done, the Lord said for my benefit.)
Karṇa is beloved and a devotee to me; there is no other deity in heaven (for me). Thus, having determined this, the Lord said it for my benefit. (03-286-4)
भूयश्च शिरसा याचे प्रसाद्य च पुनः पुनः। इति ब्रवीमि तिग्मांशो त्वं तु मे क्षन्तुमर्हसि ॥०३-२८६-५॥
bhūyaś ca śirasā yāce prasādya ca punaḥ punaḥ। iti bravīmi tigmāṃśo tvaṃ tu me kṣantum arhasi॥03-286-5॥
[भूयः (bhūyaḥ) - again; च (ca) - and; शिरसा (śirasā) - with (my) head; याचे (yāce) - I request; प्रसाद्य (prasādya) - having entreated; च (ca) - and; पुनः पुनः (punaḥ punaḥ) - again and again; इति (iti) - thus; ब्रवीमि (bravīmi) - I say; तिग्मांशो (tigmāṃśo) - O blazing one (Sun); त्वं (tvaṃ) - you; तु (tu) - but; मे (me) - to me; क्षन्तुम् (kṣantum) - to pardon; अर्हसि (arhasi) - you ought to;]
(Again and with (my) head I request, having entreated, and again and again; thus I say, O blazing one! You indeed to me to pardon ought to.)
Again and again, bowing my head and pleading, I request; thus I say, O blazing one, you should pardon me. (03-286-5)
बिभेमि न तथा मृत्योर्यथा बिभ्येऽनृतादहम्। विशेषेण द्विजातीनां सर्वेषां सर्वदा सताम् ॥ प्रदाने जीवितस्यापि न मेऽत्रास्ति विचारणा ॥०३-२८६-६॥
bibhemi na tathā mṛtyor yathā bibhye'nṛtād aham. viśeṣeṇa dvijātīnām sarveṣām sarvadā satām ॥ pradāne jīvitasya api na me'tra asti vicāraṇā ॥ 03-286-6॥
[बिभेमि (bibhemi) - I fear; न (na) - not; तथा (tathā) - in that way; मृत्योर् (mṛtyor) - of death; यथा (yathā) - as; बिभ्ये (bibhye) - I fear; ऽअनृतात् ('anṛtāt) - from falsehood; अहम् (aham) - I; विशेषेण (viśeṣeṇa) - especially; द्विजातीनाम् (dvijātīnām) - of the twice-born (Brahmins, etc.); सर्वेषाम् (sarveṣām) - of all; सर्वदा (sarvadā) - always; सताम् (satām) - of the good; प्रदाने (pradāne) - in giving; जीवितस्य (jīvitasya) - of life; अपि (api) - even; न (na) - not; मे (me) - to me; ऽअत्र ('atra) - here; अस्ति (asti) - is; विचारणा (vicāraṇā) - consideration;]
(I do not fear death in the way that I fear falsehood, especially (regarding) all always-good twice-born. Even in giving life, here there is not to me any consideration.)
I do not fear death as much as I fear speaking falsehood, especially towards all always-righteous twice-born (Brahmins, etc.). Even if it is a matter of giving my own life, I have no hesitation in this. (03-286-6)
यच्च मामात्थ देव त्वं पाण्डवं फल्गुनं प्रति। व्येतु सन्तापजं दुःखं तव भास्कर मानसम् ॥ अर्जुनं प्रति मां चैव विजेष्यामि रणेऽर्जुनम् ॥०३-२८६-७॥
yacca mām āttha deva tvaṃ pāṇḍavaṃ phalgunaṃ prati। vyetu santāpajaṃ duḥkhaṃ tava bhāskara mānasam॥ arjunaṃ prati māṃ caiva vijeṣyāmi raṇe' arjunam॥03-286-7॥
[यत् (yat) - which; च (ca) - and; माम् (mām) - me; आत्थ (āttha) - you say; देव (deva) - O god; त्वम् (tvam) - you; पाण्डवम् (pāṇḍavam) - son of Pāṇḍu; फल्गुनम् (phalgunaṃ) - Phalguna (Arjuna); प्रति (prati) - regarding; व्येतु (vyetu) - let subside; सन्तापजम् (santāpajam) - arising from affliction; दुःखम् (duḥkham) - pain; तव (tava) - your; भास्कर (bhāskara) - O Bhāskara (sun); मानसम् (mānasam) - mind; अर्जुनम् (arjunam) - Arjuna; प्रति (prati) - regarding; माम् (mām) - me; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; विजेष्यामि (vijeṣyāmi) - I will conquer; रणे (raṇe) - in battle; अर्जुनम् (arjunam) - Arjuna;]
(And that which you say to me, O god, regarding Pāṇḍava Phalguna, let the pain arising from affliction in your mind, O Bhāskara, subside. Regarding Arjuna, me also indeed I will conquer Arjuna in battle.)
O god, what you say to me regarding Arjuna, O Bhāskara, may the mental pain caused by affliction in you subside. With regard to Arjuna, I too declare: I will defeat Arjuna in battle. (03-286-7)
तवापि विदितं देव ममाप्यस्त्रबलं महत्। जामदग्न्यादुपात्तं यत्तथा द्रोणान्महात्मनः ॥०३-२८६-८॥
tavāpi viditaṃ deva mamāpy astrabalaṃ mahat। jāmadagnyād upāttaṃ yat tatha drōṇān mahātmanaḥ ॥03-286-8॥
[तवापि (tavāpi) - of you also; even to you; even by you; also; विदितं (viditaṃ) - known; देव (deva) - O lord; O divine one; ममापि (mamāpi) - of me also; even mine; of mine also; अस्त्रबलं (astrabalaṃ) - power of weapons; might of missiles; महत् (mahat) - great; जामदग्न्यात् (jāmadagnyāt) - from Jāmadagnya (Parashurāma); उपात्तं (upāttaṃ) - received; acquired; यत् (yat) - which; तथा (tathā) - likewise; similarly; द्रोणान् (drōṇān) - from Droṇa; महात्मनः (mahātmanaḥ) - of the great-souled; of the high-souled; ०३-२८६-८ (03-286-8) - (03-286-8);]
(Of you also it is known, O lord, my own great power of weapons also, which was acquired from Jāmadagnya and likewise from Droṇa, the great-souled.)
O Lord, you too know well my own great power of weapons, which I have acquired from Jāmadagnya (Parashurāma) and likewise from the high-souled Droṇa. (03-286-8)
इदं त्वमनुजानीहि सुरश्रेष्ठ व्रतं मम। भिक्षते वज्रिणे दद्यामपि जीवितमात्मनः ॥०३-२८६-९॥
idaṁ tvam anujānīhi sura-śreṣṭha vrataṁ mama। bhikṣate vajriṇe dadyām api jīvitam ātmanaḥ॥03-286-9॥
[इदं (idaṁ) - this; त्वम् (tvam) - you; अनुजानीहि (anujānīhi) - grant; सुरश्रेष्ठ (sura-śreṣṭha) - best of the gods; व्रतं (vrataṁ) - vow; मम (mama) - my; भिक्षते (bhikṣate) - for the one who begs; वज्रिणे (vajriṇe) - to Vajrin (the wielder of the thunderbolt); दद्याम् (dadyām) - I would give; अपि (api) - even; जीवितम् (jīvitam) - life; आत्मनः (ātmanaḥ) - of myself;]
(This you grant, best of the gods, my vow; to the one who begs, even to Vajrin, I would give the life of myself.)
Grant this, O best of the gods; this is my vow— even to one who begs, even to Vajrin, I would give my own life. (03-286-9)
सूर्य उवाच॥
sūrya uvāca॥
[सूर्य (sūrya) - the Sun; उवाच (uvāca) - said;]

The Sun said.
यदि तात ददास्येते वज्रिणे कुण्डले शुभे। त्वमप्येनमथो ब्रूया विजयार्थं महाबल ॥०३-२८६-१०॥
yadi tāta dadāsyete vajriṇe kuṇḍale śubhe। tvam apy enam atho brūyā vijayārthaṃ mahābala ॥03-286-10॥
[यदि (yadi) - if; तात (tāta) - O dear (addressing someone affectionately); ददास्येते (dadāsy ete) - will give (these) to you; वज्रिणे (vajriṇe) - to the wielder of the thunderbolt (Indra); कुण्डले (kuṇḍale) - earrings; शुभे (śubhe) - auspicious; त्वम् (tvam) - you; अपि (api) - also; एनम् (enam) - this (person); अथः (atho) - then; ब्रूया (brūyā) - should say; विजयार्थम् (vijayārtham) - for (the sake of) victory; महाबल (mahābala) - O mighty one;]
(If, O dear, you will give these auspicious earrings to the wielder of the thunderbolt, you also then should say this (to him) for the sake of victory, O mighty one.)
If, dear one, you will give these auspicious earrings to Indra, you too then should tell him this for the purpose of victory, O mighty one. (03-286-10)
नियमेन प्रदद्यास्त्वं कुण्डले वै शतक्रतोः। अवध्यो ह्यसि भूतानां कुण्डलाभ्यां समन्वितः ॥०३-२८६-११॥
niyamena pradadyāstvaṃ kuṇḍale vai śatakratoḥ। avadhyo hyasi bhūtānāṃ kuṇḍalābhyāṃ samanvitaḥ॥03-286-11॥
[नियमेन (niyamena) - with observance; by regulation; प्रदद्याः (pradadyāḥ) - should give; ought to offer; त्वं (tvaṃ) - you; कुण्डले (kuṇḍale) - the earrings; वै (vai) - indeed; शतक्रतोः (śatakratoḥ) - to Śatakratu (Indra); अवध्यः (avadhyaḥ) - not to be slain; हि (hi) - indeed; असि (asi) - you are; भूतानाम् (bhūtānām) - of beings; कुण्डलाभ्याम् (kuṇḍalābhyām) - by the two earrings; समन्वितः (samanvitaḥ) - possessed; endowed;]
(With observance you should give the earrings indeed to Śatakratu; not to be slain indeed you are among beings, endowed with the two earrings.)
You should verily hand over the earrings to Śatakratu (Indra) as required by observance; for, as long as you are endowed with the two earrings, you are invulnerable among all beings. (03-286-11)
अर्जुनेन विनाशं हि तव दानवसूदनः। प्रार्थयानो रणे वत्स कुण्डले ते जिहीर्षति ॥०३-२८६-१२॥
arjunena vināśaṃ hi tava dānavasūdanaḥ। prārthayāno raṇe vatsa kuṇḍale te jihīrṣati॥03-286-12॥
[अर्जुनेन (arjunena) - by Arjuna; (i.e., through Arjuna;) विनाशं (vināśam) - destruction; (the destruction;) हि (hi) - indeed; (certainly;) तव (tava) - your; (of you;) दानवसूदनः (dānavasūdanaḥ) - the destroyer of Dānavas (i.e., Kṛṣṇa); प्रार्थयानः (prārthayānaḥ) - desiring; (wishing for;) रणे (raṇe) - in battle; (on the battlefield;) वत्स (vatsa) - O child; (dear one;) कुण्डले (kuṇḍale) - (your) earrings; (ear-rings;) ते (te) - your; (of you;) जिहीर्षति (jihīrṣati) - desires to seize; (wishes to take;);]
(By Arjuna, destruction indeed your the destroyer of Dānavas, desiring in battle, O child, your earrings, desires to seize.)
The destroyer of Dānavas, indeed, through Arjuna seeks your destruction; O child, in battle he desires to seize your earrings. (03-286-12)
स त्वमप्येनमाराध्य सूनृताभिः पुनः पुनः। अभ्यर्थयेथा देवेशममोघार्थं पुरंदरम् ॥०३-२८६-१३॥
sa tvam api enam ārādhya sūnṛtābhiḥ punaḥ punaḥ | abhyarthayethā deveśam amoghārthaṃ puraṃdaram ॥03-286-13॥
[स (sa) - he; however; त्वम् (tvam) - you; अपि (api) - also; एनम् (enam) - him (this one); आराध्य (ārādhya) - having worshipped; सूनृताभिः (sūnṛtābhiḥ) - with pleasant words; पुनः पुनः (punaḥ punaḥ) - again and again; अभ्यर्थयेथा (abhyarthayethā) - you should request; देवेशम् (deveśam) - the lord of the gods; अमोघार्थम् (amoghārtham) - for an unfailing purpose; पुरंदरम् (puraṃdaram) - Purandara (Indra);]
(He you also him having worshipped with pleasant words again and again should request the lord of the gods for an unfailing purpose, Purandara.)
So you too, having worshipped him with pleasant words again and again, should request Purandara, the lord of the gods, for an unfailing purpose. (03-286-13)
अमोघां देहि मे शक्तिममित्रविनिबर्हिणीम्। दास्यामि ते सहस्राक्ष कुण्डले वर्म चोत्तमम् ॥०३-२८६-१४॥
amoghāṁ dehi me śaktim amitra-vinibarhiṇīm। dāsyāmi te sahasrākṣa kuṇḍale varma cottamam॥03-286-14॥
[अमोघाम् (amoghām) - unfailing; देहि (dehi) - give; मे (me) - to me; शक्तिम् (śaktim) - spear; अमित्रविनिबर्हिणीम् (amitra-vinibarhiṇīm) - removing enemies; दास्यामि (dāsyāmi) - I will give; ते (te) - to you; सहस्राक्ष (sahasrākṣa) - O thousand-eyed; कुण्डले (kuṇḍale) - earrings; वर्म (varma) - armor; च (ca) - and; उत्तमम् (uttamam) - excellent;]
(Give to me the unfailing spear removing enemies; I will give to you, O thousand-eyed, earrings and excellent armor.)
Grant me the unfailing spear that destroys enemies; I will give you, O thousand-eyed one, earrings and excellent armor. (03-286-14)
इत्येवं नियमेन त्वं दद्याः शक्राय कुण्डले। तया त्वं कर्ण सङ्ग्रामे हनिष्यसि रणे रिपून् ॥०३-२८६-१५॥
ityevaṃ niyamena tvaṃ dadyāḥ śakrāya kuṇḍale. tayā tvaṃ karṇa saṅgrāme haniṣyasi raṇe ripūn ॥03-286-15॥
[इति एवं (iti evaṃ) - thus; in this way; नियमेन (niyamena) - by rule; by method; त्वं (tvaṃ) - you; दद्याः (dadyāḥ) - should give; शक्राय (śakrāya) - to Śakra (Indra); कुण्डले (kuṇḍale) - the earrings; तया (tayā) - with that; त्वं (tvaṃ) - you; कर्ण सङ्ग्रामे (karṇa saṅgrāme) - in the battle (the fight) with Karṇa; हनिष्यसि (haniṣyasi) - will slay; will kill; रणे (raṇe) - in battle; रिपून् (ripūn) - enemies;]
(Thus in this way, by rule, you should give the earrings to Śakra. With that, you, in the battle with Karṇa, will slay enemies in battle. (03-286-15))
Therefore, in this way, following the rule, you should give the earrings to Śakra. With them, you will defeat your enemies in battle against Karṇa. (03-286-15)
नाहत्वा हि महाबाहो शत्रूनेति करं पुनः। सा शक्तिर्देवराजस्य शतशोऽथ सहस्रशः ॥०३-२८६-१६॥
nāhatvā hi mahābāho śatrūn eti karaṃ punaḥ। sā śaktir devarājasya śataśo 'tha sahasraśaḥ॥03-286-16॥
[न (na) - not; अहत्वा (ahatvā) - not having slain; हि (hi) - indeed; महाबाहो (mahābāho) - O mighty-armed one; शत्रून् (śatrūn) - enemies; एति (eti) - attains; करं (karaṃ) - tribute; पुनः (punaḥ) - again; सा (sā) - that; शक्तिः (śaktiḥ) - power; देवराजस्य (devarājasya) - of the king of the gods; शतशः (śataśaḥ) - by hundreds; अथ (atha) - and; सहस्रशः (sahasraśaḥ) - by thousands;]
(Not having slain (the) enemies indeed, O mighty-armed one, one does not attain tribute again. That power of the king of the gods (is present) by hundreds and by thousands.)
O mighty-armed one, without slaying the enemies, one cannot gain tribute again. Such power of the lord of the gods exists in hundreds and thousands. (03-286-16)
वैशम्पायन उवाच॥

Vaiśampāyana said.
एवमुक्त्वा सहस्रांशुः सहसान्तरधीयत। ततः सूर्याय जप्यान्ते कर्णः स्वप्नं न्यवेदयत् ॥०३-२८६-१७॥
evam uktvā sahasrāṃśuḥ sahasā antaradhīyata। tataḥ sūryāya japyānte karṇaḥ svapnaṃ nyavedayat ॥03-286-17॥
[एवम् (evam) - thus; उक्त्वा (uktvā) - having spoken; सहस्रांशुः (sahasrāṃśuḥ) - the thousand-rayed (Sun); सहसा (sahasā) - suddenly; अन्तरधीयत (antaradhīyata) - disappeared; ततः (tataḥ) - then; सूर्याय (sūryāya) - to the Sun (god); जप्य-अन्ते (japya-ante) - at the end of the muttered prayer; कर्णः (karṇaḥ) - Karṇa; स्वप्नम् (svapnam) - the dream; न्यवेदयत् (nyavedayat) - reported;]
(Thus having spoken, the thousand-rayed (Sun) suddenly disappeared. Then, at the end of the muttered prayer, Karṇa reported the dream to the Sun (god). (03-286-17))
After speaking thus, the thousand-rayed Sun suddenly vanished. Afterwards, at the completion of his prayer, Karṇa reported his dream to Sūrya. (03-286-17)
यथादृष्टं यथातत्त्वं यथोक्तमुभयोर्निशि। तत्सर्वमानुपूर्व्येण शशंसास्मै वृषस्तदा ॥०३-२८६-१८॥
yathādṛṣṭaṃ yathātattvaṃ yathoktamubhayorniśi। tatsarvamānupūrvyeṇa śaśaṃsāsmai vṛṣastadā॥03-286-18॥
[यथा (yathā) - as; दृष्टं (dṛṣṭam) - seen; यथा (yathā) - as; तत्त्वं (tattvam) - the reality; यथा (yathā) - as; उक्तम् (uktam) - spoken; उभयोः (ubhayoḥ) - of both; निशि (niśi) - at night; तत् (tat) - that; सर्वम् (sarvam) - all; अनुपूर्व्येण (anupūrvyeṇa) - in sequential order; शशंस (śaśaṃsa) - reported; अस्मै (asmai) - to him; वृषः (vṛṣaḥ) - the bull; तदा (tadā) - then;]
(As seen, as it truly is, as spoken by both at night, that all, in sequential order, the bull reported to him then.)
Then the bull reported to him all that had been seen, as it truly was, just as it had been told by both at night, in sequential order. (03-286-18)
तच्छ्रुत्वा भगवान्देवो भानुः स्वर्भानुसूदनः। उवाच तं तथेत्येव कर्णं सूर्यः स्मयन्निव ॥०३-२८६-१९॥
tac chrutvā bhagavān devo bhānuḥ svarbhānu-sūdanaḥ। uvāca tam tathety eva karṇam sūryaḥ smayann iva ॥03-286-19॥
[तत् (tat) - that; श्रुत्वा (śrutvā) - having heard; भगवान् (bhagavān) - the venerable; the exalted; देवः (devaḥ) - god; भानुः (bhānuḥ) - the radiant one (Sun); स्वर्भानुसूदनः (svarbhānu-sūdanaḥ) - the destroyer of Svarbhānu; उवाच (uvāca) - spoke; तम् (tam) - to him; तथेत्येव (tathety eva) - 'so be it' only; कर्णम् (karṇam) - to Karṇa; सूर्यः (sūryaḥ) - the Sun; स्मयन् (smayan) - smiling; इव (iva) - as if;]

ततस्तत्त्वमिति ज्ञात्वा राधेयः परवीरहा। शक्तिमेवाभिकाङ्क्षन्वै वासवं प्रत्यपालयत् ॥०३-२८६-२०॥
tatas tattvam iti jñātvā rādheyaḥ paravīrahā । śaktim evābhikāṅkṣan vai vāsavaṃ pratyapālayat ॥03-286-20॥

(Then, having known thus the true nature, Rādheya, destroyer of enemy heroes, desiring only the śakti, indeed awaited the Vāsava (Indra-given weapon).)
Then, having realized the true nature of things, Karna, the destroyer of enemy heroes, desiring only the śakti weapon, awaited the chance to use the Indra-given weapon. (03-286-20)
