अपयाते तु राधेये दुर्योधनपुरोगमाः। अनीकेन यथास्वेन शरैरार्च्छन्त पाण्डवम् ॥०४-५०-१॥
apayāte tu rādheye duryodhana-purogamāḥ। anīkena yathā-svena śaraiḥ ārchanta pāṇḍavam ॥04-50-1॥
[अपयाते (apayāte) - having gone away; तु (tu) - but; राधेये (rādheye) - Karṇa; (son of Radha); दुर्योधनपुरोगमाः (duryodhana-purogamāḥ) - preceded by Duryodhana; अनीकेन (anīkena) - with their array; यथास्वेन (yathā-svena) - according to their own (positions); शरैः (śaraiḥ) - with arrows; आर्च्छन्त (ārchanta) - pierced; पाण्डवम् (pāṇḍavam) - the son of Pandu (Arjuna);]
(But when Karna had gone away, those preceded by Duryodhana, with their own array, in their respective positions, with arrows, pierced the son of Pandu (Arjuna).)
But when Karna departed, Duryodhana and his followers attacked Arjuna with arrows from their respective formations. (04-50-1)
बहुधा तस्य सैन्यस्य व्यूढस्यापततः शरैः। अभियानीयमाज्ञाय वैराटिरिदमब्रवीत् ॥०४-५०-२॥
bahudhā tasya sainyasya vyūḍhasya āpatataḥ śaraiḥ। abhi-āniyam ājñāya vairāṭiḥ idam abravīt ॥04-50-2॥
[बहुधा (bahudhā) - in many ways; तस्य (tasya) - his; सैन्यस्य (sainyasya) - of the army; व्यूढस्य (vyūḍhasya) - arrayed; आपततः (āpatataḥ) - attacking; शरैः (śaraiḥ) - with arrows; अभियानीयम् (abhi-āniyam) - having brought near; आज्ञाय (ājñāya) - having understood; वैराटिः (vairāṭiḥ) - the son of Virāṭa; इदम् (idam) - this; अब्रवीत् (abravīt) - said;]
(In many ways, of his army, arrayed, attacking with arrows, having brought (it) near, having understood, the son of Virāṭa spoke this.)
Seeing in many ways his army arrayed and attacking with arrows, having brought it near and understood the situation, the son of Virāṭa said this. (04-50-2)
आस्थाय रुचिरं जिष्णो रथं सारथिना मया। कतमद्यास्यसेऽनीकमुक्तो यास्याम्यहं त्वया ॥०४-५०-३॥
āsthāya ruciraṃ jiṣṇo rathaṃ sārathinā mayā। katamad yāsyase' nīkam ukto yāsyāmy ahaṃ tvayā॥04-50-3॥
[आस्थाय (āsthāya) - having mounted; रुचिरं (ruciram) - splendid; जिष्णो (jiṣṇo) - O victorious one; रथं (ratham) - chariot; सारथिना (sārathinā) - with the charioteer; मया (mayā) - by me; कतम (katam) - which; अद्य (adya) - today; आस्यसे (āsyase) - will you reach; अनीकम् (anīkam) - army; उक्तः (uktaḥ) - having been told; यास्यामि (yāsyāmi) - I will go; अहं (ahaṃ) - I; त्वया (tvayā) - by you;]
(Having mounted the splendid chariot, O victorious one, with the charioteer by me, which army will you reach today? Having been told by you, I will go.)
O victorious one, having mounted the splendid chariot with me as your charioteer, which army will you go to today? Once you tell me, I will go there (04-50-3).
अर्जुन उवाच॥

लोहिताक्षमरिष्टं यं वैयाघ्रमनुपश्यसि। नीलां पताकामाश्रित्य रथे तिष्ठन्तमुत्तर ॥०४-५०-४॥
lohitākṣam ariṣṭam yaṃ vaiyāghram anupaśyasi। nīlāṃ patākām āśritya rathe tiṣṭhantam uttara ॥04-50-4॥
[लोहिताक्षम् (lohitākṣam) - red-eyed; अरिष्टम् (ariṣṭam) - invincible; यं (yaṃ) - whom; वैयाघ्रम् (vaiyāghram) - tiger-like; अनुपश्यसि (anupaśyasi) - you see; नीलाम् (nīlām) - blue; पताकाम् (patākām) - banner; आश्रित्य (āśritya) - having resorted to; रथे (rathe) - on the chariot; तिष्ठन्तम् (tiṣṭhantam) - standing; उत्तर (uttara) - O Uttara;]
(Red-eyed, invincible, whom tiger-like you see, blue banner having resorted to, on the chariot standing, O Uttara.)
O Uttara, whom you see standing on the chariot with a blue banner, red-eyed and invincible, like a tiger.
कृपस्यैतद्रथानीकं प्रापयस्वैतदेव माम्। एतस्य दर्शयिष्यामि शीघ्रास्त्रं दृढधन्विनः ॥०४-५०-५॥
kṛpasya etad rathānīkaṃ prāpayasva etad eva mām। etasya darśayiṣyāmi śīghra astraṃ dṛḍha-dhanvinaḥ ॥04-50-5॥
[कृपस्य (kṛpasya) - of Kṛpa; एतत् (etat) - this; रथानीकम् (rathānīkam) - chariot-front; प्रापयस्व (prāpayasva) - bring (me); एतत् (etat) - here; एव (eva) - just; माम् (mām) - me; एतस्य (etasya) - his; दर्शयिष्यामि (darśayiṣyāmi) - I shall show; शीघ्र (śīghra) - quick; अस्त्रं (astraṃ) - weapon; दृढधन्विनः (dṛḍha-dhanvinaḥ) - to the firm-bowed (warrior);]
(Of Kṛpa this chariot-front bring just here me. His I shall show quick weapon to the firm-bowed.)
Bring me to this chariot-front of Kṛpa at once. Here, I shall quickly show the weapon to the firm-bowed warrior. (04-50-5)
कमण्डलुर्ध्वजे यस्य शातकुम्भमयः शुभः। आचार्य एष वै द्रोणः सर्वशस्त्रभृतां वरः ॥०४-५०-६॥
kamaṇḍalu-dhvaje yasya śātakumbhamayaḥ śubhaḥ. ācārya eṣa vai droṇaḥ sarvaśastrabhṛtāṃ varaḥ ॥04-50-6॥
[कमण्डलुर्ध्वजे (kamaṇḍalu-dhvaje) - having a water-pot as a banner; यस्यम् (yasya) - whose; शातकुम्भमयः (śātakumbhamayaḥ) - made of pure gold; शुभः (śubhaḥ) - auspicious; आचार्यः (ācāryaḥ) - teacher; एषः (eṣa) - this; वै (vai) - indeed; द्रोणः (droṇaḥ) - Droṇa; सर्वशस्त्रभृतां (sarvaśastrabhṛtām) - of all weapon-bearers; वरः (varaḥ) - best; ॥०४-५०-६॥ (॥04-50-6॥) -;]
(Having a water-pot as banner, whose auspicious (banner) is made of pure gold, teacher, this indeed is Droṇa, best of all weapon-bearers.)
This is Droṇa, the teacher, whose auspicious banner bears a water-pot made of pure gold, and who is the best among all weapon-bearers. (04-50-6)
सुप्रसन्नमना वीर कुरुष्वैनं प्रदक्षिणम्। अत्रैव चाविरोधेन एष धर्मः सनातनः ॥०४-५०-७॥
suprasannamanā vīra kuruṣvainaṃ pradakṣiṇam. atraiva cāvirodhena eṣa dharmaḥ sanātanaḥ ॥04-50-7॥
[सुप्रसन्नमना (suprasannamanā) - with a very cheerful mind; वीर (vīra) - O hero; कुरुष्व (kuruṣva) - do; एनम् (enam) - this (person); प्रदक्षिणम् (pradakṣiṇam) - circumambulation; (act of going around to the right) अत्रैव (atraiva) - right here; च (ca) - and; अविरोधेन (avirodhena) - without opposition; एषः (eṣaḥ) - this; धर्मः (dharmaḥ) - duty; सनातनः (sanātanaḥ) - eternal;]
(With a very cheerful mind, O hero, do this circumambulation of him. Right here and without opposition, this is the eternal duty.)
O hero, with a most cheerful heart, perform the circumambulation of him; right here and without any hindrance, this is the eternal duty. (04-50-7)
यदि मे प्रथमं द्रोणः शरीरे प्रहरिष्यति। ततोऽस्य प्रहरिष्यामि नास्य कोपो भविष्यति ॥०४-५०-८॥
yadi me prathamaṃ droṇaḥ śarīre prahariṣyati। tato'sya prahariṣyāmi nāsya kopo bhaviṣyati॥04-50-8॥
[यदि (yadi) - if; मे (me) - to me; प्रथमं (prathamaṃ) - first; द्रोणः (droṇaḥ) - Droṇa; शरीरे (śarīre) - on (my) body; प्रहरिष्यति (prahariṣyati) - will strike; ततः (tataḥ) - then; अस्य (asya) - to him; प्रहरिष्यामि (praharisyāmi) - I will strike; न (na) - not; अस्य (asya) - from him; कोपः (kopaḥ) - anger; भविष्यति (bhaviṣyati) - will be;]
(If to me first Droṇa on (my) body will strike, then to him I will strike, not from him anger will be.)
If Droṇa is the first to strike me on my body, then I will strike him; but I will not be angry with him. (04-50-8)
अस्याविदूरे तु धनुर्ध्वजाग्रे यस्य दृश्यते। आचार्यस्यैष पुत्रो वै अश्वत्थामा महारथः ॥०४-५०-९॥
asyā-avidūre tu dhanur-dhvajāgre yasya dṛśyate। ācāryasya eṣa putro vai aśvatthāmā mahārathaḥ॥04-50-9॥
[अस्य (asya) - of this; अविदूरे (avidūre) - not far; तु (tu) - but; धनुःध्वजाग्रे (dhanuḥ-dhvaja-agre) - at the tip of the bow-banner; यस्स्य (yasya) - whose; दृश्यते (dṛśyate) - is seen; आचार्यस्य (ācāryasya) - of the teacher; एष (eṣa) - this; पुत्रः (putraḥ) - son; वै (vai) - indeed; अश्वत्थामा (aśvatthāmā) - Aśvatthāman; महारथः (mahārathaḥ) - great chariot-warrior;]
(Of this, not far but at the tip of the bow-banner, whose is seen; of the teacher this son indeed Aśvatthāman great chariot-warrior.)
Not far from this, but at the tip of the bow-banner, the one who is seen—he is the teacher's son, Aśvatthāman, the great chariot-warrior. (04-50-9)
सदा ममैष मान्यश्च सर्वशस्त्रभृतामपि। एतस्य त्वं रथं प्राप्य निवर्तेथाः पुनः पुनः ॥०४-५०-१०॥
sadā mama eṣa mānyaś ca sarvaśastrabhṛtām api। etasya tvaṃ rathaṃ prāpya nivartethāḥ punaḥ punaḥ ॥04-50-10॥
[सदा (sadā) - always; मम (mama) - of me; my; एषः (eṣa) - this (he); मान्यः (mānyaḥ) - respected; worthy of honor; च (ca) - and; सर्वशस्त्रभृताम् (sarvaśastrabhṛtām) - of all wielders of weapons; अपि (api) - even; एतस्य (etasya) - of this; त्वम् (tvaṃ) - you; रथम् (ratham) - chariot; प्राप्य (prāpya) - having attained; having obtained; निवर्तेथाः (nivartethāḥ) - would turn back; would retreat; पुनः (punaḥ) - again; पुनः (punaḥ) - again;]
(Always of me, this (he) respected and, of all wielders of weapons even; of this, you chariot having attained, would turn back again, again.)
He is always respected by me and even by all wielders of weapons. Having obtained this chariot, you would still turn back again and again. (04-50-10)
य एष तु रथानीके सुवर्णकवचावृतः। सेनाग्र्येण तृतीयेन व्यवहार्येण तिष्ठति ॥०४-५०-११॥
ya eṣa tu rathānīke suvarṇakavacāvṛtaḥ। senāgryeṇa tṛtīyena vyavahāryeṇa tiṣṭhati॥04-50-11॥
[य (ya) - who; एष (eṣa) - this; तु (tu) - but; रथानीके (rathānīke) - in the chariot division; सुवर्णकवचावृतः (suvarṇakavacāvṛtaḥ) - covered with golden armor; सेनाग्र्येण (senāgryeṇa) - by the foremost of the army; तृतीयेन (tṛtīyena) - by the third; व्यवहार्येण (vyavahāryeṇa) - by the accomplished (person); तिष्ठति (tiṣṭhati) - stands;]
(Who this but in the chariot division, covered with golden armor, by the foremost, by the third, by the accomplished, stands.)
But he who stands in the chariot division, covered with golden armor, is the third foremost accomplished one in the army. (4-50-11)
यस्य नागो ध्वजाग्रे वै हेमकेतनसंश्रितः। धृतराष्ट्रात्मजः श्रीमानेष राजा सुयोधनः ॥०४-५०-१२॥
yasya nāgo dhvajāgre vai hemaketanasaṃśritaḥ। dhṛtarāṣṭrātmajaḥ śrīmāneṣa rājā suyodhanaḥ ॥04-50-12॥
[यस्य (yasya) - of whom; नागः (nāgaḥ) - the serpent; (here: elephant is also possible, but context fits 'serpent'/'Nāga') ; ध्वजाग्रे (dhvajāgre) - at the top of the banner; वै (vai) - indeed; हेमकेतनसंश्रितः (hemaketanasaṃśritaḥ) - sheltered by a golden standard; धृतराष्ट्रात्मजः (dhṛtarāṣṭrātmajaḥ) - son of Dhṛtarāṣṭra; श्रीमन् (śrīman) - prosperous; illustrious; एषः (eṣaḥ) - this; राजा (rājā) - king; सुयोधनः (suyodhanaḥ) - Suyodhana;]
(Of whom the serpent is indeed at the top of the banner, sheltered by a golden standard; the son of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, prosperous, this king Suyodhana.)
He whose banner bears the serpent at its top, adorned with a golden standard, is this illustrious king Suyodhana, the son of Dhṛtarāṣṭra. (04-50-12)
एतस्याभिमुखं वीर रथं पररथारुजः। प्रापयस्वैष तेजोभिप्रमाथी युद्धदुर्मदः ॥०४-५०-१३॥
etasya abhimukham vīra ratham pararathārujaḥ। prāpayasvaiṣa tejobhipramāthī yuddhadurmadaḥ॥04-50-13॥
[एतस्याभिमुखं (etasya abhimukham) - towards him; facing him; वीर (vīra) - hero; रथं (ratham) - chariot; पररथारुजः (pararathārujaḥ) - one who crushes the enemy's chariot; प्रापय (prāpaya) - bring; cause to go; स्व (sva) - your; एष (eṣa) - this (he); तेजः (tejaḥ) - energy; brilliance; अभि (abhi) - towards; upon; प्रमाथी (pramāthī) - destroyer; युद्धदुर्मदः (yuddha-durmadaḥ) - arrogant in battle;]
(O hero, towards him the chariot, the crusher of the enemy's chariot, bring. He, possessing overwhelming energy, is arrogantly intoxicated by battle.)
O hero, direct the chariot facing him—the one who crushes enemy chariots. He is possessed of overwhelming brilliance and is recklessly arrogant in battle. (04-50-13)
एष द्रोणस्य शिष्याणां शीघ्रास्त्रः प्रथमो मतः। एतस्य दर्शयिष्यामि शीघ्रास्त्रं विपुलं शरैः ॥०४-५०-१४॥
eṣa droṇasya śiṣyāṇāṃ śīghrāstraḥ prathamo mataḥ। etasya darśayiṣyāmi śīghrāstraṃ vipulaṃ śaraiḥ॥04-50-14॥
[एष (eṣa) - this; द्रोणस्य (droṇasya) - of Droṇa; शिष्याणां (śiṣyāṇāṃ) - of disciples; शीघ्रास्त्रः (śīghrāstraḥ) - quick weapon; प्रथमो (prathamaḥ) - first; मतः (mataḥ) - considered; एतस्य (etasya) - of this; दर्शयिष्यामि (darśayiṣyāmi) - I will show; शीघ्रास्त्रं (śīghrāstraṃ) - quick weapon; विपुलं (vipulaṃ) - abundant; शरैः (śaraiḥ) - with arrows;]
(This, of Droṇa's disciples, quick weapon, first, considered. Of this, I will show quick weapon, abundant, with arrows.)
This is the foremost quick weapon among Droṇa's disciples. I will show this abundant rapid-fire weapon with arrows. (04-50-14)
नागकक्ष्या तु रुचिरा ध्वजाग्रे यस्य तिष्ठति। एष वैकर्तनः कर्णो विदितः पूर्वमेव ते ॥०४-५०-१५॥
nāgakakṣyā tu rucirā dhvajāgre yasya tiṣṭhati। eṣa vaikartanaḥ karṇo viditaḥ pūrvameva te ॥04-50-15॥
[नागकक्ष्या (nāgakakṣyā) - the Naga harness; तु (tu) - but; रुचिरा (rucirā) - splendid; ध्वजाग्रे (dhvajāgre) - at the top of the banner; यस्य (yasya) - of whom; तिष्ठति (tiṣṭhati) - stands; एष (eṣa) - this; वैकर्तनः (vaikartanaḥ) - son of Vikartana; कर्णः (karṇaḥ) - Karṇa; विदितः (viditaḥ) - known; पूर्वम् (pūrvam) - previously; एव (eva) - indeed; ते (te) - to you;]
(The Naga harness, splendid, at the banner's top, of whom stands; this is the son of Vikartana, Karṇa, known previously indeed to you.)
But the one whose banner bears the splendid Naga harness at its top, this is Karṇa, the son of Vikartana, who is indeed already known to you. (04-50-15)
एतस्य रथमास्थाय राधेयस्य दुरात्मनः। यत्तो भवेथाः सङ्ग्रामे स्पर्धत्येष मया सदा ॥०४-५०-१६॥
etasya ratham āsthāya rādheyasya dur-ātmanaḥ। yatto bhavethāḥ saṅgrāme spardhate eṣa mayā sadā ॥04-50-16॥
[एतस्य (etasya) - of this; रथमास्थाय (ratham āsthāya) - having mounted the chariot; राधेयस्य (rādheyasya) - of Rādheya (Karna, son of Radha); दुरात्मनः (dur-ātmanaḥ) - of the wicked-minded; यत्तः (yattaḥ) - dedicated; भवेथाः (bhavethāḥ) - you become; सङ्ग्रामे (saṅgrāme) - in battle; स्पर्धति (spardhate) - he competes; एषः (eṣaḥ) - this one; मया (mayā) - with me; सदा (sadā) - always;]
(Of this wicked-minded Rādheya, having mounted the chariot, you become dedicated in battle; this one always competes with me.)
Having mounted the chariot of this wicked-minded Rādheya, you should be dedicated in battle; for this one always rivals me. (04-50-16)
यस्तु नीलानुसारेण पञ्चतारेण केतुना। हस्तावापी बृहद्धन्वा रथे तिष्ठति वीर्यवान् ॥०४-५०-१७॥
yastu nīlānusāreṇa pañcatāreṇa ketunā। hastāvāpī bṛhaddhanvā rathe tiṣṭhati vīryavān ॥04-50-17॥
[यः (yaḥ) - who; तु (tu) - but; नीलानुसारेण (nīlānusāreṇa) - with a blue follower; पञ्चतारेण (pañcatāreṇa) - with five stars; केतुना (ketunā) - with a banner; हस्तावापी (hastāvāpī) - holding a bow in (his) hand; बृहद्धन्वा (bṛhaddhanvā) - with a great bow; रथे (rathe) - in the chariot; तिष्ठति (tiṣṭhati) - stands; वीर्यवान् (vīryavān) - mighty;]
(Who but with a blue follower, with five stars, with a banner, holding the great bow in hand, in the chariot stands mighty.)
But who is it, with a blue follower, five stars as a banner, holding the great bow in hand, who stands in the chariot, mighty? (04-50-17)
यस्य तारार्कचित्रोऽसौ रथे ध्वजवरः स्थितः। यस्यैतत्पाण्डुरं छत्रं विमलं मूर्ध्नि तिष्ठति ॥०४-५०-१८॥
yasya tārārkacitro'sau rathe dhvajavaraḥ sthitaḥ। yasyaitatpāṇḍuraṃ chatraṃ vimalaṃ mūrdhni tiṣṭhati॥04-50-18॥
[यस्य (yasya) - of whom; तारा-अर्क-चित्रः (tārārkacitraḥ) - star and sun decorated; असौ (asau) - this; रथे (rathe) - on the chariot; ध्वज-वरः (dhvajavaraḥ) - excellent banner; स्थितः (sthitaḥ) - is standing; यस्य (yasya) - of whom; एतत्-पाण्डुरम् (etad-pāṇḍuram) - this white; छत्रम् (chatram) - parasol; विमलम् (vimalam) - spotless; मूर्ध्नि (mūrdhni) - on the head; तिष्ठति (tiṣṭhati) - stands;]
(Of whom, this excellent banner decorated with stars and sun stands on the chariot; Of whom, this spotless white parasol stands on the head.)
On whose chariot the excellent banner adorned with stars and the sun stands, and on whose head this spotless white parasol stands. (4-50-18)
महतो रथवंशस्य नानाध्वजपताकिनः। बलाहकाग्रे सूर्यो वा य एष प्रमुखे स्थितः ॥०४-५०-१९॥
mahato rathavaṃśasya nānādhvajapatākinaḥ। balāhakāgre sūryo vā ya eṣa pramukhe sthitaḥ॥04-50-19॥
[महतः (mahataḥ) - of the great; रथवंशस्य (rathavaṃśasya) - of the chariot line; नाना (nānā) - various; ध्वज (dhvaja) - flag; पताकिनः (patākinaḥ) - bannered; बलाहक (balāhaka) - cloud; अग्रे (agre) - at the front; सूर्यः (sūryaḥ) - sun; वा (vā) - or; यः (yaḥ) - who; एषः (eṣaḥ) - this; प्रमुखे (pramukhe) - at the forefront; स्थितः (sthitaḥ) - standing;]
(Of the great chariot line, various-flag-bannered; in front of the cloud, the sun or who this at the forefront stands.)
Standing foremost in the grand line of chariots, adorned with various flags and banners, is this one who appears at the very front, just as the sun stands before a cloud. (4-50-19)
हैमं चन्द्रार्कसङ्काशं कवचं यस्य दृश्यते। जातरूपशिरस्त्राणस्त्रासयन्निव मे मनः ॥०४-५०-२०॥
haimaṃ candrārkasaṅkāśaṃ kavacaṃ yasya dṛśyate। jātarūpaśirastrāṇastrāsayanniva me manaḥ॥04-50-20॥
[हैमं (haimaṃ) (haimaṃ) - golden;“ चन्द्रार्कसङ्काशं (candrārkasaṅkāśam) (candrārkasaṅkāśam) - moon-and-sun-like lustre;“ कवचं (kavacaṃ) (kavacaṃ) - armor;“ यस्य (yasya) (yasya) - whose;“ दृश्यते (dṛśyate) (dṛśyate) - is seen;“ जातरूपशिरस्त्राण (jātarūpaśirastrāṇa) (jātarūpaśirastrāṇa) - golden helmet;“ स्त्रासयन् (strāsayan) (strāsayan) - causing fear;“ इव (iva) (iva) - as if;“ मे (me) (me) - my;“ मनः (manaḥ) (manaḥ) - mind;“;]
(Golden, with the lustre of moon and sun, the armor whose (is) seen; the golden helmet, causing fear as if, my mind.)
Golden armor, shining like the moon and sun, whose golden helmet is visible, seems to terrify my mind. (04-50-20)
एष शान्तनवो भीष्मः सर्वेषां नः पितामहः। राजश्रियावबद्धस्तु दुर्योधनवशानुगः ॥०४-५०-२१॥
eṣa śāntanavo bhīṣmaḥ sarveṣāṃ naḥ pitāmahaḥ। rājaśriyāvabaddhastu duryodhanavaśānugaḥ ॥04-50-21॥

(This descendant of Śāntanu, Bhīṣma, of all our grandfathers, bound by royal splendor but following under the control of Duryodhana.)
This Bhīṣma, the son of Śāntanu, our grandfather among all, though bound by royal dignity, is yet subject to the authority of Duryodhana. (04-50-21)
पश्चादेष प्रयातव्यो न मे विघ्नकरो भवेत्। एतेन युध्यमानस्य यत्तः संयच्छ मे हयान् ॥०४-५०-२२॥
paścādeṣa prayātavyo na me vighnakaro bhavet। etena yudhyamānasya yattaḥ saṃyaccha me hayān॥04-50-22॥

(Afterward, he should proceed; let him not become an obstacle to me. While I am fighting, by this, attentive, restrain my horses.)

(Then the king of Virāṭa, unagitated, approached the ambidextrous one, where Kṛpa, O king, endeavoring, was standing against Dhanañjaya.)
