Yudhishthira spoke:
Sanjaya, the creator brings both the existent and non-existent, the young and the old, the weak and the strong under control.
The Lord grants wisdom to the child and childishness to the scholar, uttering brightness in front of everything.
"Enough of the notification, you should tell it as it is. Then, after consulting with each other, they were very delighted."
In the assembly of the Kurus, after going to the mighty Dhritarashtra, and after saluting and approaching him, they should inquire about his welfare.
You should tell him, while seated among the Kauravas, that it is indeed by your strength, O king, that the Pandavas are living happily.
By your favor, O subduer of enemies, the young ones have gained the kingdom. Ensure they are established in the kingdom and do not neglect them, lest they perish.
O Sanjaya, all this is not sufficient for any one person. O father, let us live together and not fall under the control of our enemies.
Thus, you should bow your head and salute Bhishma, the son of Shantanu and the grandfather of the Bharatas, while proclaiming my name.
After offering salutations, our grandfather said, "By you, the dynasty of Śantanu, which was submerged, has been raised again."
Dear father, act according to your own judgment, grandfather, so that your grandsons may live harmoniously and affectionately with one another.
In the same way, Yudhishthira, desiring the welfare of all, should speak to Vidura, the counselor of the Kurus, about avoiding conflict, addressing him as a gentle one.
Then, Suyodhana should repeatedly speak to the impatient prince, seated among the Kurus, after having appeased him multiple times.
Seeing me being neglected and Kṛṣṇā alone in the assembly, endure that sorrow and do not kill the Kurus, thus he said:
The Pandavas endured all the past and future hardships, as the stronger ones, which the Kauravas were aware of.
Gentle one, do not destroy the Kurus for the suffering you caused us by exiling us in deer skins.
In the assembly, Duḥśāsana, with your consent, seized Kṛṣṇā by the hair and insulted her, and we overlooked that act.
O Arjuna, you should be content with your rightful share and not covet the wealth of others. Turn your mind away from greed, as it is not befitting of a noble person.
O king, let there be peace and mutual affection. Please grant us even a part of the kingdom, as we desire peace.
Kushasthala, Vrikasthala, Asandi, and Varanavata are mentioned. The end would be here, indeed, but there is something about a fifth place.
O Suyodhana, grant five villages to the five brothers so that we may have peace, O wise one, along with our relatives, O Sanjaya.
Let brothers follow each other, and fathers unite with their sons. Smiling, let the Panchalas and Kurus come together.
I wish that we may see the Kurus and Panchalas unharmed. O best of the Bharatas, may we all, with good intentions, find peace.
I am equally prepared for peace and war, O Sañjaya. I am ready for righteousness and wealth, for gentleness and harshness.
