Pancharatra:Pre-empting the evil plans of Duryodhana to capture lord Krishna; Vidura and Dhritarashtra advise against such a move.

तत्तु वाक्यमनादृत्य सोऽर्थवन्मातृभाषितम् । पुनः प्रतस्थे संरम्भात्सकाशमकृतात्मनाम् ॥५-१२८-१॥
tattu vākyamanādṛtya so'rthavanmātṛbhāṣitam । punaḥ pratasthe saṁrambhātsakāśamakṛtātmanām ॥5-128-1॥
[तत् (tat) - that; तु (tu) - but; वाक्यम् (vākyam) - speech; अनादृत्य (anādṛtya) - disregarding; सः (saḥ) - he; अर्थवत् (arthavat) - meaningful; मातृ (mātṛ) - mother; भाषितम् (bhāṣitam) - spoken; पुनः (punaḥ) - again; प्रतस्थे (pratasthe) - set out; संरम्भात् (saṁrambhāt) - in anger; सकाशम् (sakāśam) - towards; अकृतात्मनाम् (akṛtātmanām) - of the undisciplined;]
(But disregarding that meaningful speech spoken by his mother, he again set out in anger towards the undisciplined.)
Ignoring his mother's meaningful words, he angrily proceeded towards those who lack discipline.
ततः सभाया निर्गम्य मन्त्रयामास कौरवः । सौबलेन मताक्षेण राज्ञा शकुनिना सह ॥५-१२८-२॥
tataḥ sabhāyā nirgamya mantrayāmāsa kauravaḥ । saubalena matākṣeṇa rājñā śakuninā saha ॥5-128-2॥

वयमेव हृषीकेशं निगृह्णीम बलादिव । प्रसह्य पुरुषव्याघ्रमिन्द्रो वैरोचनिं यथा ॥५-१२८-५॥
vayameva hṛṣīkeśaṃ nigṛhṇīma balādiva । prasahya puruṣavyāghramindro vairocaniṃ yathā ॥5-128-5॥

श्रुत्वा गृहीतं वार्ष्णेयं पाण्डवा हतचेतसः । निरुत्साहा भविष्यन्ति भग्नदंष्ट्रा इवोरगाः ॥५-१२८-६॥
śrutvā gṛhītaṃ vārṣṇeyaṃ pāṇḍavā hatacetasaḥ । nirutsāhā bhaviṣyanti bhagnadaṃṣṭrā ivoragāḥ ॥5-128-6॥

(Having heard that the son of Vṛṣṇi has been captured, the Pāṇḍavas, disheartened, will become without enthusiasm, like serpents with broken fangs.)
Upon hearing that the son of Vṛṣṇi has been captured, the Pāṇḍavas will lose heart and become dispirited, like serpents whose fangs have been broken.
अयं ह्येषां महाबाहुः सर्वेषां शर्म वर्म च । अस्मिन्गृहीते वरदे ऋषभे सर्वसात्वताम् ॥ निरुद्यमा भविष्यन्ति पाण्डवाः सोमकैः सह ॥५-१२८-७॥
ayaṁ hyeṣāṁ mahābāhuḥ sarveṣāṁ śarma varma ca । asmingṛhīte varade ṛṣabhe sarvasātvatām ॥ nirudyamā bhaviṣyanti pāṇḍavāḥ somakaiḥ saha ॥5-128-7॥

(This mighty-armed one is indeed the protection and armor of all these. When this bestower of boons, the bull among all Yadavas, is held, the Pandavas will become without effort together with the Somakas.)
This mighty-armed hero is truly the protector and shield for everyone. When this boon-giving leader, the foremost among all Yadavas, is engaged, the Pandavas will effortlessly unite with the Somakas.
तस्माद्वयमिहैवैनं केशवं क्षिप्रकारिणम् । क्रोशतो धृतराष्ट्रस्य बद्ध्वा योत्स्यामहे रिपून् ॥५-१२८-८॥
tasmād vayam ihaiva enaṃ keśavaṃ kṣiprakāriṇam । krośato dhṛtarāṣṭrasya baddhvā yotsyāmahe ripūn ॥5-128-8॥

(Therefore, we here only this Keshava quick-acting shouting of Dhritarashtra having bound we will fight enemies.)

तेषां पापमभिप्रायं पापानां दुष्टचेतसाम् । इङ्गितज्ञः कविः क्षिप्रमन्वबुध्यत सात्यकिः ॥५-१२८-९॥
teṣāṃ pāpamabhiprāyaṃ pāpānāṃ duṣṭacetasām । iṅgitajñaḥ kaviḥ kṣipramanvabudhyata sātyakiḥ ॥5-128-9॥

तदर्थमभिनिष्क्रम्य हार्दिक्येन सहास्थितः । अब्रवीत्कृतवर्माणं क्षिप्रं योजय वाहिनीम् ॥५-१२८-१०॥
tadartham abhiniṣkramya hārdikyena sahāsthitaḥ । abravīt kṛtavarmāṇaṃ kṣipraṃ yojaya vāhinīm ॥5-128-10॥

(Indeed, those of little intelligence desire to seize this lotus-eyed one, like children or fools trying to cover a kindled fire with cloth.)
Indeed, those with little understanding attempt to capture the lotus-eyed being, just as children or fools might try to cover a blazing fire with a cloth.
सात्यकेस्तद्वचः श्रुत्वा विदुरो दीर्घदर्शिवान् । धृतराष्ट्रं महाबाहुमब्रवीत्कुरुसंसदि ॥५-१२८-१७॥
sātyakestadvacaḥ śrutvā viduro dīrghadarśivān । dhṛtarāṣṭraṃ mahābāhumabravītkurusaṃsadi ॥5-128-17॥

राजन्परीतकालास्ते पुत्राः सर्वे परन्तप । अयशस्यमशक्यं च कर्म कर्तुं समुद्यताः ॥५-१२८-१८॥

इमं हि पुण्डरीकाक्षमभिभूय प्रसह्य च । निग्रहीतुं किलेच्छन्ति सहिता वासवानुजम् ॥५-१२८-१९॥

(Having approached this invincible and unapproachable tiger among men, they will not be like moths to a flame.)
Upon confronting this formidable and unyielding warrior, they will not meet their end like moths drawn to a fire.
अयमिच्छन्हि तान्सर्वान्यतमानाञ्जनार्दनः । सिंहो मृगानिव क्रुद्धो गमयेद्यमसादनम् ॥५-१२८-२१॥
ayam icchan hi tān sarvān yatamānān janārdanaḥ । siṃho mṛgān iva kruddho gamayed yamasādanam ॥5-128-21॥

(This one, indeed desiring them all, Janardana, like an angry lion, would send the striving ones to the abode of Yama.)

न त्वयं निन्दितं कर्म कुर्यात्कृष्णः कथञ्चन । न च धर्मादपक्रामेदच्युतः पुरुषोत्तमः ॥५-१२८-२२॥
na tvayaṃ ninditaṃ karma kuryāt kṛṣṇaḥ kathañcana । na ca dharmādapakrāmed acyutaḥ puruṣottamaḥ ॥5-128-22॥

पाण्डवार्थे हि लुभ्यन्तः स्वार्थाद्धास्यन्ति ते सुताः । एते चेदेवमिच्छन्ति कृतकार्यो युधिष्ठिरः ॥५-१२८-२६॥
pāṇḍavārthe hi lubhyantaḥ svārthāddhāsyanti te sutāḥ । ete cedevamichanti kṛtakāryo yudhiṣṭhiraḥ ॥5-128-26॥

(Indeed, desiring for the sake of the Pāṇḍavas, those sons will abandon their own interest. If these wish thus, Yudhiṣṭhira, having accomplished his task.)
Indeed, in their desire to support the Pāṇḍavas, those sons will forsake their own interests. If this is their wish, Yudhiṣṭhira has achieved his purpose.

(By gods, humans, celestial musicians, demons, and serpents, who is not able to be withstood in battle, him you do not know as Keshava.)

प्राग्ज्योतिषगतं शौरिं नरकः सह दानवैः । ग्रहीतुं नाशकत्तत्र तं त्वं प्रार्थयसे बलात् ॥५-१२८-४४॥
prāgjyotiṣagataṃ śauriṃ narakaḥ saha dānavaiḥ । grahītuṃ nāśakattatra taṃ tvaṃ prārthayase balāt ॥5-128-44॥

(Naraka, with the demons, was unable to seize Śauri who had gone to Prāgjyotiṣa; you desire him by force.)
Naraka, along with his demon allies, could not capture Śauri in Prāgjyotiṣa; yet you wish to take him by force.
अनेन हि हता बाल्ये पूतना शिशुना तथा । गोवर्धनो धारितश्च गवार्थे भरतर्षभ ॥५-१२८-४५॥
anena hi hatā bālye pūtanā śiśunā tathā । govardhano dhāritaśca gavārthe bharatarṣabha ॥5-128-45॥

अरिष्टो धेनुकश्चैव चाणूरश्च महाबलः । अश्वराजश्च निहतः कंसश्चारिष्टमाचरन् ॥५-१२८-४६॥

(In the one ocean, by the one who is lying, those two, Madhu and Kaitabha, were killed. Having attained another birth, Hayagriva was thus killed.)

अयं कर्ता न क्रियते कारणं चापि पौरुषे । यद्यदिच्छेदयं शौरिस्तत्तत्कुर्यादयत्नतः ॥५-१२८-५०॥

(This doer is not made a cause even in human effort. Whatever this hero desires, he should do that effortlessly.)

[तं (taṁ) - him; न (na) - not; बुध्यसि (budhyasi) - you know; गोविन्दं (govindaṁ) - Govinda; घोरविक्रमम् (ghoravikramam) - of terrible prowess; अच्युतम् (acyutam) - the infallible; आशीविषम् (āśīviṣam) - like a serpent; इव (iva) - like; क्रुद्धम् (kruddham) - angry; तेजोराशिम् (tejorāśim) - mass of energy; अनिर्जितम् (anirjitam) - unconquered;]
(You do not know him, Govinda, of terrible prowess, the infallible, like an angry serpent, an unconquered mass of energy.)
You are unaware of Govinda, who possesses immense power and is infallible, like an enraged serpent, an unconquered source of energy.
प्रधर्षयन्महाबाहुं कृष्णमक्लिष्टकारिणम् । पतङ्गोऽग्निमिवासाद्य सामात्यो न भविष्यसि ॥५-१२८-५२॥
pradharṣayan mahābāhuṃ kṛṣṇam akliṣṭakāriṇam । pataṅgo'gnim ivāsādya sāmātyo na bhaviṣyasi ॥5-128-52॥
[प्रधर्षयन् (pradharṣayan) - attacking; महाबाहुं (mahābāhuṃ) - mighty-armed; कृष्णम् (kṛṣṇam) - Krishna; अक्लिष्टकारिणम् (akliṣṭakāriṇam) - effortless-doer; पतङ्गः (pataṅgaḥ) - moth; अग्निम् (agnim) - fire; इव (iva) - like; आसाद्य (āsādya) - approaching; सामात्यः (sāmātyaḥ) - with ministers; न (na) - not; भविष्यसि (bhaviṣyasi) - you will be;]
(Attacking the mighty-armed Krishna, the effortless-doer, like a moth approaching fire, you will not exist with your ministers.)
By attacking the mighty-armed Krishna, who performs his duties effortlessly, you will meet your end like a moth that flies into a flame, and neither you nor your ministers will survive.
