दृष्ट्वा सुमहदाश्चर्यमात्मनो विजयावहम्। यदृच्छयागतं व्यासं पप्रच्छ भरतर्षभ ॥७-१७३-३॥

सङ्ग्रामे निघ्नतः शत्रूञ्शरौघैर्विमलैरहम्। अग्रतो लक्षये यान्तं पुरुषं पावकप्रभम् ॥७-१७३-४॥

ज्वलन्तं शूलमुद्यम्य यां दिशं प्रतिपद्यते। तस्यां दिशि विशीर्यन्ते शत्रवो मे महामुने ॥७-१७३-५॥
jvalantaṁ śūlamudyamya yāṁ diśaṁ pratipadyate। tasyāṁ diśi viśīryante śatravo me mahāmune ॥7-173-5॥

न पद्भ्यां स्पृशते भूमिं न च शूलं विमुञ्चति। शूलाच्छूलसहस्राणि निष्पेतुस्तस्य तेजसा ॥७-१७३-६॥
na padbhyāṃ spṛśate bhūmiṃ na ca śūlaṃ vimuñcati। śūlācchūlasahasrāṇi niṣpetustasya tejasā ॥7-173-6॥

भगवंस्तन्ममाचक्ष्व को वै स पुरुषोत्तमः। शूलपाणिर्महान्कृष्ण तेजसा सूर्यसंनिभः ॥७-१७३-८॥

स्थातुमुत्सहते कश्चिन्न तस्मिन्नग्रतः स्थिते। न हि भूतं समं तेन त्रिषु लोकेषु विद्यते ॥७-१७३-१६॥

(No one dares to stand in front of him. Indeed, there is no being equal to him in the three worlds.)

(Even by the scent, indeed, in battle, his angry enemies, unconscious, mostly killed, tremble and fall.)

तस्मै नमस्तु कुर्वन्तो देवास्तिष्ठन्ति वै दिवि। ये चान्ये मानवा लोके ये च स्वर्गजितो नराः ॥७-१७३-१८॥
tasmai namastu kurvanto devāstiṣṭhanti vai divi। ye cānye mānavā loke ye ca svargajito narāḥ ॥7-173-18॥

(To him indeed salutation is done by the gods who stand in heaven, and by other humans in the world, and by men who are conquerors of heaven.)
Salutations to him are offered by the gods who reside in heaven, as well as by other humans on earth and those men who have conquered heaven.
ये भक्ता वरदं देवं शिवं रुद्रमुमापतिम्। इह लोके सुखं प्राप्य ते यान्ति परमां गतिम् ॥७-१७३-१९॥
ye bhaktā varadaṃ devaṃ śivaṃ rudramumāpatim। iha loke sukhaṃ prāpya te yānti paramāṃ gatim ॥7-173-19॥

(Those devotees who worship the boon-giver god Shiva, Rudra, the consort of Uma, obtain happiness here in the world and they go to the supreme state.)
Devotees who worship Lord Shiva, the boon-giver and consort of Uma, experience happiness in this world and ultimately attain the supreme state.
नमस्कुरुष्व कौन्तेय तस्मै शान्ताय वै सदा। रुद्राय शितिकण्ठाय कनिष्ठाय सुवर्चसे ॥७-१७३-२०॥
