Pancharatra: Pandavas worship Kirhsna and bid farewell.

उषित्वा खाण्डवप्रस्थे सुखवासं जनार्दनः। पार्थैः प्रीतिसमायुक्तैः पूजनार्होऽभिपूजितः ॥२-२-१॥
uṣitvā khāṇḍavaprasthē sukhavāsaṃ janārdanaḥ। pārthaiḥ prītisamāyuktaiḥ pūjanārhō'bhipūjitaḥ ॥2-2-1॥
[उषित्वा (uṣitvā) - having dwelt; खाण्डवप्रस्थे (khāṇḍavaprasthē) - in Khāṇḍavaprastha; सुखवासं (sukhavāsaṃ) - pleasant dwelling; जनार्दनः (janārdanaḥ) - Janārdana (Kṛṣṇa); पार्थैः (pārthaiḥ) - by the Pārthas (sons of Pṛthā); प्रीतिसमायुक्तैः (prītisamāyuktaiḥ) - endowed with affection; पूजनार्हः (pūjanārhaḥ) - worthy of worship; अभिपूजितः (abhipūjitaḥ) - was duly worshipped;]
(Having dwelt in Khāṇḍavaprastha, Janārdana (Kṛṣṇa), enjoying a pleasant stay, was duly worshipped by the Pārthas, who were endowed with affection and considered him worthy of worship.)
After residing happily in Khāṇḍavaprastha, Janārdana (Kṛṣṇa) was honored with worship by the affectionate sons of Pṛthā, who regarded him as worthy of such honor. (2-2-1)
गमनाय मतिं चक्रे पितुर्दर्शनलालसः। धर्मराजमथामन्त्र्य पृथां च पृथुलोचनः ॥२-२-२॥

(Longing to see his father, he set his mind on departure; then, having addressed Dharmarāja and Pṛthā, the large-eyed one (spoke).)
Longing to see his father, the large-eyed one decided to depart; after addressing Dharmarāja and Pṛthā, he prepared to leave. (2-2-2)
ववन्दे चरणौ मूर्ध्ना जगद्वन्द्यः पितृष्वसुः। स तया मूर्ध्न्युपाघ्रातः परिष्वक्तश्च केशवः ॥२-२-३॥
vavande caraṇau mūrdhnā jagadvandyaḥ pitṛṣvasuḥ। sa tayā mūrdhnyupāghrātaḥ pariṣvaktaśca keśavaḥ ॥2-2-3॥

(Bowed (his) head at the feet, the one revered by the world, (his) maternal aunt's son; he by her, having his head smelt, and embraced, Keśava.)
The cousin, revered by the world, bowed his head at the feet; Keśava was then embraced and had his head affectionately smelt by her. (2-2-3)
ददर्शानन्तरं कृष्णो भगिनीं स्वां महायशाः। तामुपेत्य हृषीकेशः प्रीत्या बाष्पसमन्वितः ॥२-२-४॥
dadarśānantaraṃ kṛṣṇo bhaginīṃ svāṃ mahāyaśāḥ। tāmupetya hṛṣīkeśaḥ prītyā bāṣpasamanvitaḥ ॥2-2-4॥
[ददर्श (dadarśa) - he saw; अनन्तरं (anantaram) - immediately after; कृष्णः (kṛṣṇaḥ) - Kṛṣṇa; भगिनीं (bhaginīm) - sister; स्वां (svām) - his own; महायशाः (mahāyaśāḥ) - of great fame; ताम् (tām) - her; उपेत्य (upetya) - approaching; हृषीकेशः (hṛṣīkeśaḥ) - Hṛṣīkeśa (Kṛṣṇa); प्रीत्या (prītyā) - with affection; बाष्पसमन्वितः (bāṣpasamanvitaḥ) - filled with tears;]
(Immediately after, Kṛṣṇa of great fame saw his own sister; approaching her, Hṛṣīkeśa, with affection, was filled with tears.)

अर्थ्यं तथ्यं हितं वाक्यं लघु युक्तमनुत्तमम्। उवाच भगवान्भद्रां सुभद्रां भद्रभाषिणीम् ॥२-२-५॥

[अर्थ्यं (arthyaṃ) - worthy; valuable; तथ्यं (tathyaṃ) - true; factual; हितं (hitaṃ) - beneficial; wholesome; वाक्यं (vākyaṃ) - speech; sentence; लघु (laghu) - concise; light; युक्तम् (yuktam) - appropriate; proper; अनुत्तमम् (anuttamam) - unsurpassed; excellent; उवाच (uvāca) - said; spoke; भगवान् (bhagavān) - the Blessed One; the Lord; भद्रां (bhadrāṃ) - auspicious (feminine accusative singular); सुभद्रां (subhadrāṃ) - very auspicious (feminine accusative singular); भद्रभाषिणीम् (bhadrabhāṣiṇīm) - one who speaks auspiciously (feminine accusative singular);]
(Worthy, true, beneficial, speech, concise, appropriate, unsurpassed, said the Blessed One to the auspicious, very auspicious, auspicious-speaking (woman).)
The Blessed One spoke to the auspicious, very auspicious, and auspicious-speaking woman words that were worthy, true, beneficial, concise, appropriate, and unsurpassed. (2-2-5)
तया स्वजनगामीनि श्रावितो वचनानि सः। सम्पूजितश्चाप्यसकृच्छिरसा चाभिवादितः ॥२-२-६॥
tayā svajanagāmini śrāvito vacanāni saḥ। sampūjitaś cāpy asakṛc chirasā cābhivāditaḥ ॥2-2-6॥
[तया (tayā) - by her; स्वजनगामीनि (svajanagāmini) - going to (her) own people; श्रावितः (śrāvitaḥ) - made to hear; वचनानि (vacanāni) - words; सः (saḥ) - he; सम्पूजितः (sampūjitaḥ) - honored; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; असकृत् (asakṛt) - repeatedly; शिरसा (śirasā) - with (his) head; च (ca) - and; अभिवादितः (abhivāditaḥ) - saluted;]
(By her, he was made to hear words going to (her) own people; he was honored and also repeatedly saluted with (his) head.)

तामनुज्ञाप्य वार्ष्णेयः प्रतिनन्द्य च भामिनीम्। ददर्शानन्तरं कृष्णां धौम्यं चापि जनार्दनः ॥२-२-७॥
tāmanujñāpya vārṣṇeyaḥ pratinandya ca bhāminīm। dadarśānantaraṃ kṛṣṇāṃ dhaumyaṃ cāpi janārdanaḥ ॥2-2-7॥

(Having permitted her, the descendant of Vṛṣṇi, having greeted the illustrious lady, saw afterwards Kṛṣṇā and also Dhaumya, Janārdana.)
Having given her permission, Vārṣṇeya (Kṛṣṇa), after greeting the illustrious lady, then saw Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī) and Dhaumya as well, Janārdana (Kṛṣṇa) (2-2-7).
ववन्दे च यथान्यायं धौम्यं पुरुषसत्तमः। द्रौपदीं सान्त्वयित्वा च आमन्त्र्य च जनार्दनः ॥२-२-८॥

(The best among men bowed to Dhaumya as was proper, and having consoled Draupadī and addressed her, Janārdana (Kṛṣṇa) (did so).)

भ्रातॄनभ्यगमद्धीमान्पार्थेन सहितो बली। भ्रातृभिः पञ्चभिः कृष्णो वृतः शक्र इवामरैः ॥२-२-९॥

[भ्रातॄन् (bhrātṝn) - brothers (accusative plural); अभ्यगमत् (abhyagamat) - approached; धीमान् (dhīmān) - wise; पार्थेन (pārthena) - by Pārtha (Arjuna); सहितः (sahitaḥ) - accompanied; बली (balī) - strong; भ्रातृभिः (bhrātṛbhiḥ) - with brothers (instrumental plural); पञ्चभिः (pañcabhiḥ) - with five; कृष्णः (kṛṣṇaḥ) - Kṛṣṇa; वृतः (vṛtaḥ) - surrounded; शक्रः (śakraḥ) - Indra; इव (iva) - like; अमरैः (amaraiḥ) - by immortals (gods);]
(The wise and strong one, accompanied by Pārtha, approached his brothers; Kṛṣṇa, surrounded by his five brothers, like Indra by the immortals.)
The wise and powerful Kṛṣṇa, accompanied by Arjuna, approached his brothers; surrounded by his five brothers, Kṛṣṇa was like Indra among the gods. (2-2-9)
अर्चयामास देवांश्च द्विजांश्च यदुपुङ्गवः। माल्यजप्यनमस्कारैर्गन्धैरुच्चावचैरपि ॥ स कृत्वा सर्वकार्याणि प्रतस्थे तस्थुषां वरः ॥२-२-१०॥
arcayāmāsa devāṃś ca dvijāṃś ca yadupuṅgavaḥ। mālyajapyanamaskārair gandhair uccāvacair api ॥ sa kṛtvā sarvakāryāṇi pratasthe tasthuṣāṃ varaḥ ॥2-2-10॥

(The chief of the Yadus worshipped the gods and the twice-born with garlands, muttered prayers, salutations, fragrances, and also with various (kinds of offerings). Having done all duties, he, the best among those who stood, set out. (2-2-10))

(Well-being to be spoken to the worthy brāhmaṇas with curd, vessel, fruit, and unbroken rice grains; having given wealth and then he performed circumambulation.)

(Having mounted the golden chariot with Garuḍa as the banner, swift, endowed with weapons such as the mace, discus, sword, Śārṅga bow, and others;)

[तिथौ (tithau) - on the lunar day; अथ (atha) - then; च (ca) - and; नक्षत्रे (nakṣatre) - on the constellation; मुहूर्ते (muhūrte) - at the auspicious moment; च (ca) - and; गुणान्विते (guṇānvite) - endowed with qualities; प्रययौ (prayayau) - departed; पुण्डरीकाक्षः (puṇḍarīkākṣaḥ) - the lotus-eyed one; सैन्यसुग्रीववाहनः (sainyasugrīvavāhanaḥ) - having Sugrīva and the army as his vehicle;]
(On the lunar day, then, and on the constellation, at the auspicious moment, and endowed with qualities, departed the lotus-eyed one, having Sugrīva and the army as his vehicle.)

अन्वारुरोह चाप्येनं प्रेम्णा राजा युधिष्ठिरः। अपास्य चास्य यन्तारं दारुकं यन्तृसत्तमम् ॥ अभीषून्सम्प्रजग्राह स्वयं कुरुपतिस्तदा ॥२-२-१४॥

उपारुह्यार्जुनश्चापि चामरव्यजनं सितम्। रुक्मदण्डं बृहन्मूर्ध्नि दुधावाभिप्रदक्षिणम् ॥२-२-१५॥

(In the same way, Bhīmasena also, accompanied by the two sons of Yama, self-controlled, from behind followed Kṛṣṇa, surrounded by priests and townspeople.)

स तथा भ्रातृभिः सार्धं केशवः परवीरहा। अनुगम्यमानः शुशुभे शिष्यैरिव गुरुः प्रियैः ॥२-२-१७॥
sa tathā bhrātṛbhiḥ sārdhaṃ keśavaḥ paravīrahā। anugamyamānaḥ śuśubhe śiṣyairiva guruḥ priyaiḥ ॥2-2-17॥

(He thus, together with his brothers, Keśava, destroyer of enemy heroes, being followed, shone like a teacher by beloved disciples.)

पार्थमामन्त्र्य गोविन्दः परिष्वज्य च पीडितम्। युधिष्ठिरं पूजयित्वा भीमसेनं यमौ तथा ॥२-२-१८॥

परिष्वक्तो भृशं ताभ्यां यमाभ्यामभिवादितः। ततस्तैः संविदं कृत्वा यथावन्मधुसूदनः ॥२-२-१९॥
pariṣvakto bhṛśaṃ tābhyāṃ yamābhyām abhivāditaḥ। tataḥ taiḥ saṃvidaṃ kṛtvā yathāvan madhusūdanaḥ ॥2-2-19॥

निवर्तयित्वा च तदा पाण्डवान्सपदानुगान्। स्वां पुरीं प्रययौ कृष्णः पुरंदर इवापरः ॥२-२-२०॥
nivartayitvā ca tadā pāṇḍavān sapadānugān। svāṃ purīṃ prayayau kṛṣṇaḥ puraṃdara iva aparaḥ ॥2-2-20॥

लोचनैरनुजग्मुस्ते तमा दृष्टिपथात्तदा। मनोभिरनुजग्मुस्ते कृष्णं प्रीतिसमन्वयात् ॥२-२-२१॥
locanair anujagmus te tamā dṛṣṭipathāt tadā। manobhir anujagmus te kṛṣṇaṃ prītisamanvayāt ॥2-2-21॥

At that time, they followed him with their eyes as far as he could be seen; with their minds, they followed Kṛṣṇa with loving harmony. (2-2-21)
अतृप्तमनसामेव तेषां केशवदर्शने। क्षिप्रमन्तर्दधे शौरिश्चक्षुषां प्रियदर्शनः ॥२-२-२२॥
atṛptamanasāmeva teṣāṃ keśavadarśane। kṣipramantardadhe śauriścakṣuṣāṃ priyadarśanaḥ ॥2-2-22॥
[अतृप्त (atṛpta) - unsatisfied; मनसाम् (manasām) - of the minds; एव (eva) - indeed; तेषाम् (teṣām) - of them; केशव (keśava) - Keśava (Kṛṣṇa); दर्शने (darśane) - in the sight; क्षिप्रम् (kṣipram) - quickly; अन्तर्दधे (antardadhe) - disappeared; शौरिः (śauriḥ) - Śauri (Kṛṣṇa); चक्षुषाम् (cakṣuṣām) - from the eyes; प्रियदर्शनः (priyadarśanaḥ) - the beloved-appearing one;]
(Indeed, while their minds were unsatisfied with the sight of Keśava, Śauri, the beloved-appearing one, quickly disappeared from their eyes.)

अकामा इव पार्थास्ते गोविन्दगतमानसाः। निवृत्योपययुः सर्वे स्वपुरं पुरुषर्षभाः ॥ स्यन्दनेनाथ कृष्णोऽपि समये द्वारकामगात् ॥२-२-२३॥
akāmā iva pārthās te govinda-gata-mānasāḥ। nivṛtya upayayūḥ sarve svapuraṃ puruṣarṣabhāḥ॥ syandanenātha kṛṣṇo'pi samaye dvārakām agāt॥2-2-23॥

(Without desire, as if, the sons of Pṛthā, they, their minds fixed on Govinda, having withdrawn, approached, all, their own city, best among men. By chariot, then, Kṛṣṇa also, at the proper time, to Dvārakā, went. (2-2-23))
The sons of Pṛthā, their minds fixed on Govinda, appeared as if without desire. All the best among men, having withdrawn, returned to their own city. Then Kṛṣṇa also, by chariot, at the proper time, went to Dvārakā. (2-2-23)
