Lomaśa said;
कस्यचित्त्वथ कालस्य सुराणामश्विनौ नृप। कृताभिषेकां विवृतां सुकन्यां तामपश्यताम् ॥०३-१२३-१॥
kasyacit tv atha kālasya surāṇām aśvinau nṛpa। kṛtābhiṣekāṃ vivṛtāṃ sukanyāṃ tām apaśyatām ॥03-123-1॥
[कस्यचित् (kasyacit) - of a certain; त् (t) - indeed; अथ (atha) - then; कालस्य (kālasya) - of time; सुराणाम् (surāṇām) - of the gods; अश्विनौ (aśvinau) - the two Aśvins; नृप (nṛpa) - O king; कृताभिषेकाम् (kṛtābhiṣekām) - who had performed the consecration; विवृताम् (vivṛtām) - open; सुकन्याम् (sukanyām) - Sukanyā; ताम् (tām) - her; अपश्यताम् (apaśyatām) - saw;]
(O king, then, at a certain time, the two Aśvins, gods, saw Sukanyā, who had performed the consecration, open.)
O king, at a certain time, the two Aśvins, gods, saw Sukanyā, who had completed her consecration, with the enclosure open. (03-123-1)
तां दृष्ट्वा दर्शनीयाङ्गीं देवराजसुतामिव। ऊचतुः समभिद्रुत्य नासत्यावश्विनाविदम् ॥०३-१२३-२॥
tāṃ dṛṣṭvā darśanīyāṅgīṃ devarājasutām iva। ūcatuḥ samabhidrutya nāsatya-avśvinau idam ॥03-123-2॥

(Her having seen, of beautiful limbs, like the daughter of the king of the gods; the two said, having approached together, the two Nāsatya Aśvins, this.)
Having seen her, whose limbs were beautiful like the daughter of the king of the gods, the two Nāsatya Aśvins approached and said this.
कस्य त्वमसि वामोरु किं वने वै करोषि च। इच्छाव भद्रे ज्ञातुं त्वां तत्त्वमाख्याहि शोभने ॥०३-१२३-३॥
kasya tvam asi vāmoru kiṁ vane vai karoṣi ca। icchāva bhadre jñātuṁ tvāṁ tattvam ākhyāhi śobhane॥03-123-3॥
[कस्य (kasya) - whose; त्वम् (tvam) - you; असि (asi) - are; वामोरु (vāmoru) - O beautiful-thighed (one); किं (kiṁ) - what; वने (vane) - in the forest; वै (vai) - indeed; करोषि (karoṣi) - you do; च (ca) - and; इच्छाव (icchāva) - we wish; भद्रे (bhadre) - O auspicious (one); ज्ञातुम् (jñātum) - to know; त्वाम् (tvām) - you; तत्त्वम् (tattvam) - the true nature; आख्याहि (ākhyāhi) - tell; शोभने (śobhane) - O lovely (one);]
(Whose you are, O beautiful-thighed one; what in the forest indeed you do and; we wish, O auspicious one, to know you, your true nature tell, O lovely one (03-123-3))
O beautiful-thighed one, whose are you? What indeed are you doing in the forest? We wish, O auspicious and lovely one, to know you—tell us your true nature. (03-123-3)
ततः सुकन्या संवीता तावुवाच सुरोत्तमौ। शर्यातितनयां वित्तं भार्यां च च्यवनस्य माम् ॥०३-१२३-४॥
tataḥ sukan-yā saṃvītā tau uvāca surottamau। śaryāti-tanayām vittaṃ bhāryām ca cyavanasya mām॥03-123-4॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; सुकन्या (sukanyā) - Sukanya; संवीता (saṃvītā) - having approached; तौ (tau) - them two; उवाच (uvāca) - spoke; सुरोत्तमौ (surottamau) - the best of the gods; शर्यातितनयाम् (śaryāti-tanayām) - daughter of Śaryāti; वित्तम् (vittam) - known; भार्याम् (bhāryām) - wife; च (ca) - and; च्यवनस्य (cyavanasya) - of Cyavana; माम् (mām) - me;]
(Then Sukanya, having approached, spoke to those two best of the gods: 'Known as daughter of Śaryāti, wife and of Cyavana, me.')
Then Sukanya, having approached, spoke to the two best among the gods: 'I am known as the daughter of Śaryāti and as the wife of Cyavana.' (03-123-4)
अथाश्विनौ प्रहस्यैतामब्रूतां पुनरेव तु। कथं त्वमसि कल्याणि पित्रा दत्ता गताध्वने ॥०३-१२३-५॥
athāśvinau prahasyaitāmabrūtāṃ punareva tu। kathaṃ tvamasi kalyāṇi pitrā dattā gatādhvane॥03-123-5॥
[अथ (atha) - then; अश्विनौ (aśvinau) - the two Aśvins; प्रहस्य (prahasya) - having smiled; इमाम् (imām) - this (woman); अब्रूताम् (abrūtām) - they both said; पुनः (punaḥ) - again; एव (eva) - indeed; तु (tu) - but; कथम् (katham) - how; त्वम् (tvam) - you; असि (asi) - are; कल्याणि (kalyāṇi) - O auspicious one; पित्रा (pitrā) - by your father; दत्ता (dattā) - given; गताध्वने (gatādhvane) - to one who has passed away (one who has departed on the path);]
(Then the two Aśvins, having smiled, indeed again said this (to her): "How are you, O auspicious one, given by your father to one who has departed?" (03-123-5))
Then the two Aśvins, smiling, again spoke to her: "How is it that, O auspicious one, your father gave you to someone who has already passed away?" (03-123-5)
भ्राजसे वनमध्ये त्वं विद्युत्सौदामिनी यथा। न देवेष्वपि तुल्यां हि त्वया पश्याव भामिनि ॥०३-१२३-६॥
bhrājase vanamadhye tvaṁ vidyutsaudāminī yathā। na deveṣvapi tulyāṁ hi tvayā paśyāva bhāmini॥03-123-6॥
[भ्राजसे (bhrājase) - you shine; वनमध्ये (vanamadhye) - in the midst of the forest; त्वं (tvaṁ) - you; विद्युत्सौदामिनी (vidyutsaudāminī) - lightning flash; यथा (yathā) - like; न (na) - not; देवेषु (deveṣu) - among the gods; अपि (api) - even; तुल्यां (tulyām) - equal; हि (hi) - indeed; त्वया (tvayā) - with you; पश्याव (paśyāva) - I (do) see; भामिनि (bhāmini) - O shining (one/woman);]
(You shine in the midst of the forest like a lightning flash; even among the gods, indeed, I do not see an equal (with) you, O shining one.)
You shine in the midst of the forest like a flash of lightning; truly, O radiant one, I do not see anyone even among the gods who is equal to you. (03-123-6)
सर्वाभरणसम्पन्ना परमाम्बरधारिणी। शोभेथास्त्वनवद्याङ्गि न त्वेवं मलपङ्किनी ॥०३-१२३-७॥
sarvābharaṇasampannā paramāṁbaradhāriṇī। śobhethāstva-navadyāṅgi na tvevaṁ malapaṅkinī॥03-123-7॥
[सर्वाभरणसम्पन्ना (sarvābharaṇasampannā) - endowed with all ornaments; परमाम्बरधारिणी (paramāṁbaradhāriṇī) - wearing the best garments; शोभेथाः (śobhethāḥ) - you would shine; त्वम् (tvam) - you; अनवद्याङ्गि (anavadyāṅgi) - O one with flawless limbs; न (na) - not; त्वेवं (tvevaṁ) - in this (state); मलपङ्किनी (malapaṅkinī) - smeared with dirt;]
(Endowed with all ornaments, wearing the best garments, you would shine, O one with flawless limbs; not in this (state), smeared with dirt.)
O flawless-limbed one, if adorned with all ornaments and dressed in the best garments, you would shine; not so as you are now, covered in dirt. (03-123-7)
कस्मादेवंविधा भूत्वा जराजर्जरितं पतिम्। त्वमुपास्से ह कल्याणि कामभोगबहिष्कृतम् ॥०३-१२३-८॥
kasmādevaṃvidhā bhūtvā jarājarjari­taṃ patim। tvamupāsse ha kalyāṇi kāmabhogabahiṣkṛtam ॥03-123-8॥
[कस्मात् (kasmāt) - why; एवं-विधा (evaṃ-vidhā) - of such a kind; भूत्वा (bhūtvā) - having become; जराजर्जरितम् (jarājarjaritam) - worn out with old age; पतिम् (patim) - husband; त्वम् (tvam) - you; उपास्से (upāsse) - attend upon; ह (ha) - indeed; कल्याणि (kalyāṇi) - O auspicious one; काम-भोग-बहिष्कृतम् (kāma-bhoga-bahiṣkṛtam) - deprived of the enjoyment of desires;]
(Why, having become of such a kind, do you, O auspicious one, indeed attend upon a husband worn out with old age, deprived of enjoyment of desires?)
O blessed one, why, being as you are, do you attend upon a husband worn out by old age, deprived of all enjoyment? (03-123-8)
असमर्थं परित्राणे पोषणे च शुचिस्मिते। साधु च्यवनमुत्सृज्य वरयस्वैकमावयोः ॥ पत्यर्थं देवगर्भाभे मा वृथा यौवनं कृथाः ॥०३-१२३-९॥
asamarthaṃ paritrāṇe poṣaṇe ca śucismite। sādhu cyavanam utsṛjya varayasva ekam āvayoḥ॥ patyarthaṃ devagarbhābhe mā vṛthā yauvanaṃ kṛthāḥ॥03-123-9॥
[असमर्थं (asamarthaṃ) - incapable; परित्राणे (paritrāṇe) - in protection; पोषणे (poṣaṇe) - in nourishment; च (ca) - and; शुचिस्मिते (śucismite) - O pure-smiling one; साधु (sādhu) - O virtuous (woman); च्यवनम् (cyavanam) - Cyavana (proper noun); उत्सृज्य (utsṛjya) - having abandoned; वरयस्व (varayasva) - choose; एकम् (ekam) - one; आवयोः (āvayoḥ) - of us; पत्यर्थं (patyarthaṃ) - for the sake of a husband; देवगर्भाभे (devagarbhābhe) - O one with purity like a divine womb; मा (mā) - do not; वृथा (vṛthā) - vainly; यौवनं (yauvanaṃ) - youth; कृथाः (kṛthāḥ) - cause;]
(Incabable in protection, in nourishment, and O pure-smiling one, O virtuous one, having abandoned Cyavana, choose one of us. For the sake of a husband, O one with (purity) like a divine womb, do not cause your youth to be wasted.)
Who is incapable of protecting or providing, O pure-smiling one, O virtuous lady, abandon Cyavana and choose one among us. For the sake of a husband, O you who are like a divine-being in purity, do not let your youth go to waste. (03-123-9)
एवमुक्ता सुकन्या तु सुरौ ताविदमब्रवीत्। रताहं च्यवने पत्यौ मैवं मा पर्यशङ्किथाः ॥०३-१२३-१०॥
evamuktā sukanīyā tu surau tau idam abravīt । ratā ahaṃ cyavane patyau mā evam mā paryaśaṅkithāḥ ॥03-123-10॥
[एवमुक्ता (evamuktā) - thus addressed; सुकन्या (sukanīyā) - Sukanya; तु (tu) - but; सुरौ (surau) - the two gods; तौ (tau) - those; इदम् (idam) - this; अब्रवीत् (abravīt) - said; रता (ratā) - devoted; अहम् (aham) - I; च्यवने (cyavane) - in Cyavana; पत्यौ (patyau) - as husband; मा (mā) - not; एवं (evam) - thus; मा (mā) - not; पर्यशङ्किथाः (paryaśaṅkithāḥ) - may you suspect;]
(Thus addressed, Sukanya but to the two gods those this said: Devoted I in Cyavana as husband, not thus not may you suspect.)
Thus addressed, Sukanya spoke this to those two gods: "I am devoted to Cyavana as my husband; do not suspect me thus." (03-123-10)
तावब्रूतां पुनस्त्वेनामावां देवभिषग्वरौ। युवानं रूपसम्पन्नं करिष्यावः पतिं तव ॥०३-१२३-११॥
tāv abhrūtāṃ punas tvenaṃ āvāṃ deva-bhiṣag-varau। yuvānaṃ rūpa-sampannaṃ kariṣyāvaḥ patiṃ tava॥03-123-11॥
[तौ (tau) - those two; अब्रूताम् (abrūtām) - said; पुनः (punaḥ) - again; त्वम् (tvam) - you; एनम् (enam) - this (one); आवाम् (āvām) - we two; देव (deva) - O goddess; भिषग्वरौ (bhiṣag-varau) - best physicians; युवानम् (yuvānam) - young; रूपसम्पन्नम् (rūpa-sampannam) - endowed with beauty; करिष्यावः (kariṣyāvaḥ) - we will make; पतिं (patiṃ) - husband; तव (tava) - your;]
(Those two said again to you: "This (one), we two, O goddess, being the best physicians, will make young, endowed with beauty, (as) your husband." (03-123-11))
Those two (physician gods) again said to you: "We, O goddess, as the best physicians, will make this one young and beautiful as your husband." (03-123-11)
ततस्तस्यावयोश्चैव पतिमेकतमं वृणु। एतेन समयेनैनमामन्त्रय वरानने ॥०३-१२३-१२॥
tatas tasyāvayoś caiva patim ekatamaṃ vṛṇu। etena samayenainam āmantraya varānane ॥03-123-12॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; तस्यावयोः (tasyāvayoḥ) - of the two of them; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; पतिम् (patim) - husband; एकतमम् (ekatamam) - one of the two; वृणु (vṛṇu) - choose; एतेन (etena) - by this; समयेन (samayena) - agreement; एनम् (enam) - him; आमन्त्रय (āmantraya) - address; वरानने (varānane) - O beautiful-faced;]
(Then of the two indeed a husband, one, choose; by this agreement him address, O beautiful-faced.)
Then, among the two, choose one as your husband; with this agreement, address him, O beautiful-faced one. (03-123-12)
सा तयोर्वचनाद्राजन्नुपसङ्गम्य भार्गवम्। उवाच वाक्यं यत्ताभ्यामुक्तं भृगुसुतं प्रति ॥०३-१२३-१३॥
sā tayor vacanād rājan upasaṅgamya bhārgavam। uvāca vākyaṃ yat tābhyām uktaṃ bhṛgusutaṃ prati॥03-123-13॥
[सा (sā) - she; तयोः (tayoh) - of those two; वचनात् (vacanāt) - from the words; राजन् (rājan) - O king; उपसङ्गम्य (upasaṅgamya) - having approached; भार्गवम् (bhārgavam) - the descendant of Bhṛgu; उवाच (uvāca) - said; वाक्यम् (vākyam) - words; यत् (yat) - which; ताभ्याम् (tābhyām) - by those two; उक्तम् (uktam) - spoken; भृगुसुतम् (bhṛgusutam) - son of Bhṛgu; प्रति (prati) - to;]
(She, from the words of those two, O king, having approached the descendant of Bhṛgu, said the words which were spoken by those two to the son of Bhṛgu.)
She, prompted by the words of those two, O king, approached the Bhārgava and conveyed to the son of Bhṛgu what had been said by them. (03-123-13)
तच्छ्रुत्वा च्यवनो भार्यामुवाच क्रियतामिति। भर्त्रा सा समनुज्ञाता क्रियतामित्यथाब्रवीत् ॥०३-१२३-१४॥
tacchrutvā cyavano bhāryām uvāca kriyatām iti. bhartrā sā samanujñātā kriyatām ity athābravīt ॥03-123-14॥
[तच्छ्रुत्वा (tac chrutvā) - having heard that; च्यवनः (cyavanaḥ) - Cyavana; भार्याम् (bhāryām) - (to his) wife; उवाच (uvāca) - he said; क्रियताम् (kriyatām) - let it be done; इति (iti) - thus; भर्त्रा (bhartrā) - by (her) husband; सा (sā) - she; समनुज्ञाता (samanujñātā) - having been permitted; क्रियताम् (kriyatām) - let it be done; इति (iti) - thus; अथ (atha) - then; अब्रवीत् (abravīt) - she said;]
(Having heard that, Cyavana said to his wife, "Let it be done." Permitted by her husband, she then said, "Let it be done.")
When he heard that, Cyavana said to his wife, "Let it be done." Receiving her husband's permission, she then also said, "Let it be done." (03-123-14)
श्रुत्वा तदश्विनौ वाक्यं तत्तस्याः क्रियतामिति। ऊचतू राजपुत्रीं तां पतिस्तव विशत्वपः ॥०३-१२३-१५॥
śrutvā tadaśvinau vākyaṃ tattasyāḥ kriyatāmiti। ūcatū rājaputrīṃ tāṃ patistava viśatvapaḥ ॥03-123-15॥
[श्रुत्वा (śrutvā) - having heard; तद् (tad) - that; अश्विनौ (aśvinau) - the two Aśvins; वाक्यम् (vākyaṃ) - statement; तत् (tat) - that; तस्याः (tasyāḥ) - her; क्रियताम् (kriyatām) - let it be done; इति (iti) - thus; ऊचतू (ūcatū) - the two said; राजपुत्रīm् (rājaputrīm) - princess; ताम् (tām) - her; पतिः (patiḥ) - husband; तव (tava) - your; विशतु (viśatu) - let him enter; अपः (apaḥ) - water;]
(Having heard that, the two Aśvins (said) the statement, "Let that be done for her." The two (Aśvins) said to the princess, "Let your husband enter the water." (03-123-15))
The two Aśvins, having heard that statement, said, "Let that be done for her." They said to the princess, "Let your husband enter the water." (03-123-15)
ततोऽम्भश्च्यवनः शीघ्रं रूपार्थी प्रविवेश ह। अश्विनावपि तद्राजन्सरः प्रविशतां प्रभो ॥०३-१२३-१६॥
tato 'mbhaś cyavanaḥ śīghraṃ rūpārthī praviveśa ha. aśvināv api tad rājan saraḥ praviśatāṃ prabho ॥03-123-16॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; अम्भः (ambhaḥ) - water; च्यवनः (cyavanaḥ) - Cyavana; शीघ्रं (śīghram) - quickly; रूपार्थी (rūpārthī) - desirous of form; प्रविवेश (praviveśa) - entered; ह (ha) - indeed; अश्विनौ (aśvinau) - the two Aśvins; अपि (api) - also; तत् (tat) - that; राजन् (rājan) - O king; सरः (saraḥ) - lake; प्रविशताम् (praviśatām) - entered; प्रभो (prabho) - O lord;]
(Then water Cyavana quickly desirous of form entered indeed. The two Aśvins also that O king lake entered O lord.)
Then Cyavana, desirous of regaining his form, quickly entered the water. The two Aśvins also entered that lake, O king, O lord. (03-123-16)
ततो मुहूर्तादुत्तीर्णाः सर्वे ते सरसस्ततः। दिव्यरूपधराः सर्वे युवानो मृष्टकुण्डलाः ॥ तुल्यरूपधराश्चैव मनसः प्रीतिवर्धनाः ॥०३-१२३-१७॥
tato muhūrtād uttīrṇāḥ sarve te sarasas tataḥ। divyarūpadharāḥ sarve yuvāno mṛṣṭakuṇḍalāḥ॥ tulyarūpadharāś caiva manasaḥ prītivardhanāḥ॥03-123-17॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; मुहूर्ताद् (muhūrtāt) - from an instant; उत्तीर्णाः (uttīrṇāḥ) - crossed over; सर्वे (sarve) - all; ते (te) - they; सरसः (sarasaḥ) - from the lake; ततः (tataḥ) - thereafter; दिव्यरूपधराः (divyarūpadharāḥ) - having divine forms; सर्वे (sarve) - all; युवानः (yuvānaḥ) - young men; मृष्टकुण्डलाः (mṛṣṭakuṇḍalāḥ) - wearing polished earrings; तुल्यरूपधराः (tulyarūpadharāḥ) - having the same form; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; मनसः (manasaḥ) - of the mind; प्रीतिवर्धनाः (prītivardhanāḥ) - increasing delight;]
(Then, from an instant, all they crossed over from the lake thereafter; all having divine forms, young men wearing polished earrings; and indeed having the same form, increasing delight of the mind.)
Then, after a moment, all of them crossed the lake; thereafter, they all assumed divine forms, becoming young men with polished earrings, all alike in appearance and increasing the delight of the mind. (03-123-17)
तेऽब्रुवन्सहिताः सर्वे वृणीष्वान्यतमं शुभे। अस्माकमीप्सितं भद्रे पतित्वे वरवर्णिनि ॥ यत्र वाप्यभिकामासि तं वृणीष्व सुशोभने ॥०३-१२३-१८॥
te 'bruvan sahitāḥ sarve vṛṇīṣva anyatamaṃ śubhe। asmākam īpsitam bhadre patitve varavarṇini॥ yatra vā api abhi-kāmā asi taṃ vṛṇīṣva suśobhane॥03-123-18॥
[ते (te) - they; अब्रुवन् (abruvan) - spoke; सहिताः (sahitāḥ) - together; सर्वे (sarve) - all; वृणीष्व (vṛṇīṣva) - choose; अन्यतमं (anyatamam) - any one; शुभे (śubhe) - O auspicious one; अस्माकम् (asmākam) - of us; ईप्सितं (īpsitam) - desired; भद्रे (bhadre) - O fortunate one; पतित्वे (patitve) - for husbandhood; वरवर्णिनि (varavarṇini) - O best-complexioned; यत्र (yatra) - whom; वा (vā) - or; अपि (api) - even; अभिकामा (abhikāmā) - desiring; असि (asi) - you are; तं (tam) - him; वृणीष्व (vṛṇīṣva) - choose; सुशोभने (suśobhane) - O beautiful one;]
(They spoke all together, "Choose any one, O auspicious one; of us the desired one, O fortunate one, for husbandhood, O best-complexioned. Whom or even you desire, choose him, O beautiful one." (03-123-18))
They all spoke together, "Choose any one among us whom you desire, O auspicious and fortunate lady, for your husband, O best-complexioned and beautiful one." (03-123-18)
सा समीक्ष्य तु तान्सर्वांस्तुल्यरूपधरान्स्थितान्। निश्चित्य मनसा बुद्ध्या देवी वव्रे स्वकं पतिम् ॥०३-१२३-१९॥
sā samīkṣya tu tānsarvāṃstulyarūpadharān sthitān। niścitya manasā buddhyā devī vavre svakaṃ patim॥03-123-19॥
[सा (sā) - she; समीक्ष्य (samīkṣya) - having observed; तु (tu) - but; तान् (tān) - them; सर्वान् (sarvān) - all; तुल्यरूपधरान् (tulya-rūpa-dharān) - assuming equal forms; स्थितान् (sthitān) - standing; निश्चित्य (niścitya) - having determined; मनसा (manasā) - with mind; बुद्ध्या (buddhyā) - with intellect; देवी (devī) - the goddess; वव्रे (vavre) - chose; स्वकम् (svakam) - her own; पतिम् (patim) - husband;]
(She, having observed but all of them assuming equal forms and standing, having determined with mind and with intellect, the goddess chose her own husband.)
But she, having seen them all standing there in identical forms, decided by her mind and intellect and chose her own husband, the goddess. (03-123-19)
लब्ध्वा तु च्यवनो भार्यां वयोरूपं च वाञ्छितम्। हृष्टोऽब्रवीन्महातेजास्तौ नासत्याविदं वचः ॥०३-१२३-२०॥
labdhvā tu cyavano bhāryāṃ vayorūpaṃ ca vāñchitam। hṛṣṭo'bravīn mahātejās tau nāsatyāvidaṃ vacaḥ ॥03-123-20॥
[लब्ध्वा (labdhvā) - having obtained; तु (tu) - but; च्यवनः (cyavanaḥ) - Cyavana; भार्याम् (bhāryām) - wife; वयोरूपम् (vayorūpam) - youth and form; च (ca) - and; वाञ्छितम् (vāñchitam) - desired; हृष्टः (hṛṣṭaḥ) - gladdened; अब्रवीत् (abravīt) - he spoke; महातेजाः (mahātejāḥ) - of great brilliance; तौ (tau) - to those two; नासत्यौ (nāsatyau) - the Aśvins (Nasatyas); इदम् (idam) - this; वचः (vacaḥ) - speech;]
(Having obtained, but, Cyavana, wife, youth and form, and, desired, gladdened, he spoke, of great brilliance, to those two, the Aśvins, this, speech.)
But having obtained his wife and the youth and form he desired, Cyavana, gladdened and of great brilliance, spoke this speech to those two Aśvins. (03-123-20)
यथाहं रूपसम्पन्नो वयसा च समन्वितः। कृतो भवद्भ्यां वृद्धः सन्भार्यां च प्राप्तवानिमाम् ॥०३-१२३-२१॥
yathāhaṃ rūpasampanno vayasā ca samanvitaḥ। kṛto bhavadbhyāṃ vṛddhaḥ san bhāryāṃ ca prāptavān imām॥03-123-21॥
[यथा (yathā) - just as; अहम् (aham) - I; रूपसम्पन्नः (rūpasampannaḥ) - endowed with beauty; वयसा (vayasā) - with age; च (ca) - and; समन्वितः (samanvitaḥ) - endowed; कृतः (kṛtaḥ) - made; भवद्भ्याम् (bhavadbhyām) - by both of you; वृद्धः (vṛddhaḥ) - elder; सन् (san) - being; भार्यां (bhāryām) - wife; च (ca) - and; प्राप्तवान् (prāptavān) - have obtained; इमाम् (imām) - this;]
(Just as I, endowed with beauty and with age, endowed (thus), was made an elder by both of you, being (thus), and have obtained this wife.)
Just as I, possessing beauty and age, have thus been made an elder by both of you, and have obtained this wife. (03-123-21)
तस्माद्युवां करिष्यामि प्रीत्याहं सोमपीथिनौ। मिषतो देवराजस्य सत्यमेतद्ब्रवीमि वाम् ॥०३-१२३-२२॥
tasmādyuvāṃ kariṣyāmi prītyāhaṃ somapīthinau। miṣato devarājasya satyametadbravīmi vām ॥03-123-22॥
[तस्मात् (tasmāt) - therefore; युवाम् (yuvām) - you two; करिष्यामि (kariṣyāmi) - I will do; प्रीत्या (prītyā) - with affection; अहम् (aham) - I; सोमपीथिनौ (somapīthinau) - (to) two drinkers of Soma; मिषतः (miṣataḥ) - while looking; देवराजस्य (devarājasya) - of the king of gods; सत्यं (satyam) - truth; एतत् (etat) - this; ब्रवीमि (bravīmi) - I speak; वाम् (vām) - to you two;]
(Therefore you two I will do with affection, O Soma-drinkers; in the presence of the king of gods this truth I speak to you two.)
Therefore, out of affection, I will do this for you two, O Soma-drinkers; I declare this truth to you both in the presence of the king of the gods. (03-123-22)
तच्छ्रुत्वा हृष्टमनसौ दिवं तौ प्रतिजग्मतुः। च्यवनोऽपि सुकन्या च सुराविव विजह्रतुः ॥०३-१२३-२३॥
tacchrutvā hṛṣṭamanasau divaṃ tau pratijagmatūḥ. cyavano'pi sukanyā ca surāviva vijahratuḥ ॥03-123-23॥
[तत् (tat) - that; श्रुत्वा (śrutvā) - having heard; हृष्टमनसौ (hṛṣṭamanasau) - with gladdened minds (dual); दिवं (divaṃ) - to heaven; तौ (tau) - those two; प्रतिजग्मतुः (pratijagmatūḥ) - went back (dual); च्यवनः (cyavanaḥ) - Cyavana; अपि (api) - also; सुकन्या (sukanyā) - Sukanya; च (ca) - and; सुराः (surāḥ) - gods; इव (iva) - like; विजह्रतुः (vijahratuḥ) - enjoyed themselves (dual);]
(That having heard, with gladdened minds, those two went to heaven; Cyavana also and Sukanya, like gods, enjoyed themselves.)
Having heard that, those two (the Ashvins) joyfully returned to heaven; and Cyavana and Sukanya, like the gods, enjoyed themselves. (03-123-23)
