dharmajño balavāñśūraḥ sadyo rākṣasapuṅgavaḥ. bhakto:smānaurasaḥ putro bhīma gṛhṇātu mātaram ॥03-145-1॥
[धर्मज्ञः (dharmajñaḥ) - knower of dharma; बलवान् (balavān) - strong; शूरः (śūraḥ) - heroic; सद्यः (sadyaḥ) - immediately; राक्षसपुङ्गवः (rākṣasapuṅgavaḥ) - foremost among rākṣasas; भक्तः (bhaktaḥ) - devoted; अस्मान् (asmān) - us; औरसः (aurasaḥ) - born from the womb; पुत्रः (putraḥ) - son; भीम (bhīma) - Bhima; गृह्णातु (gṛhṇātu) - let him take; मातरम् (mātaram) - the mother;]
(The knower of dharma, strong, heroic, immediately the foremost among rākṣasas, devoted, us, born from the womb, son, Bhima, let him take the mother.)
Let Bhima, who is a knower of dharma, strong, heroic, immediately the foremost among rākṣasas, devoted, our own son, take (carry) the mother. (03-145-1)
तव भीम बलेनाहमतिभीमपराक्रम। अक्षतः सह पाञ्चाल्या गच्छेयं गन्धमादनम् ॥०३-१४५-२॥
tava bhīma balenāham atibhīmaparākramaḥ akṣataḥ saha pāñcālyā gaccheyaṃ gandhamādanam ॥03-145-2॥
[तव (tava) - of you; भीम (bhīma) - Bhīma; बलेन (balena) - by strength; अहम् (aham) - I; अतिभीमपराक्रम (atibhīmaparākramaḥ) - possessing exceedingly terrific prowess; अक्षतः (akṣataḥ) - unhurt; सह (saha) - with; पाञ्चाल्या (pāñcālyā) - with the Pāñcālī; गच्छेयं (gaccheyaṃ) - may I go; गन्धमादनम् (gandhamādanam) - to Gandhamādana;]
(Of you, Bhīma, by strength I possessing exceedingly terrific prowess, unhurt, with Pāñcālī, may I go to Gandhamādana.)
By your strength, O Bhīma, I, endowed with exceedingly tremendous prowess, may proceed unscathed with Pāñcālī to Gandhamādana. (03-145-2)

भ्रातुर्वचनमाज्ञाय भीमसेनो घटोत्कचम्। आदिदेश नरव्याघ्रस्तनयं शत्रुकर्शनम् ॥०३-१४५-३॥
bhrātur vacanam ājñāya bhīmaseno ghaṭotkacam। ādideśa naravyāghraḥ tanayam śatrukarṣaṇam॥03-145-3॥
[भ्रातुः (bhrātuḥ) - of the brother; वचनम् (vacanam) - word; आज्ञाय (ājñāya) - having understood; भीमसेनः (bhīmasenaḥ) - Bhīmasena; घटोत्कचम् (ghaṭotkacam) - Ghaṭotkaca; आदिदेश (ādideśa) - commanded; नरव्याघ्रः (naravyāghraḥ) - the tiger among men; तनयं (tanayam) - son; शत्रुकर्शनम् (śatrukarṣaṇam) - destroyer of enemies;]
(Having understood the brother's word, Bhīmasena commanded Ghaṭotkaca, the tiger among men, son, destroyer of enemies.)
After understanding his brother's words, Bhīmasena, the tiger among men, commanded his son Ghaṭotkaca, the destroyer of enemies. (03-145-3)
हैडिम्बेय परिश्रान्ता तव मातापराजिता। त्वं च कामगमस्तात बलवान्वह तां खग ॥०३-१४५-४॥
haiḍimbeya pariśrāntā tava mātāparājitā। tvaṃ ca kāmagamastāta balavānvaha tāṃ khaga ॥03-145-4॥
[हैडिम्बेय (haiḍimbeya) - O son of Hiḍimbā; परिश्रान्ता (pariśrāntā) - tired; तव (tava) - your; माता (mātā) - mother; अपराजिता (aparājitā) - unconquered; त्वं (tvaṃ) - you; च (ca) - and; कामगमः (kāmagamaḥ) - capable of going as you wish; तात (tāta) - dear one; बलवान् (balavān) - strong; वह (vaha) - carry; तां (tāṃ) - her; खग (khaga) - O bird;]
(O son of Hiḍimbā, your mother, unconquered, is tired. And you, O dear one, capable of going as you wish, strong, carry her, O bird.)
O son of Hiḍimbā, your mother Aparājitā is fatigued. You, dear one, who can go wherever you wish and are strong, carry her, O bird. (03-145-4)
स्कन्धमारोप्य भद्रं ते मध्येऽस्माकं विहायसा। गच्छ नीचिकया गत्या यथा चैनां न पीडयेः ॥०३-१४५-५॥
skandham āropya bhadraṃ te madhye'smākaṃ vihāyasā। gaccha nīcikayā gatyā yathā caināṃ na pīḍayeḥ ॥03-145-5॥
[स्कन्धम् (skandham) - shoulder; (accusative singular; as object;) आरोप्य (āropya) - having placed; having mounted; भद्रं (bhadraṃ) - prosperity; good; well; ते (te) - to you; (dative singular;) मध्ये (madhye) - in the midst; among; अस्माकं (asmākam) - of us; our; विहायसा (vihāyasā) - through the air; by means of the sky; गच्छ (gaccha) - go; (imperative singular;) नीचिकया (nīcikayā) - by a low (manner); by a descending (path); गत्या (gatyā) - with movement; by means of going; यथा (yathā) - in such a way; so that; च (ca) - and; एनाम् (enām) - her; (accusative singular feminine;) न (na) - not; पीडयेः (pīḍayeḥ) - you would injure; you might hurt; (2nd person singular optative; ॥०३-१४५-५॥ (॥03-145-5॥) - ;]
(Having placed her on (your) shoulder, well-being to you, in the midst of us through the air, go by a low path so that you might not hurt her.)
Place her on your shoulder—good fortune to you!—and, among us, fly through the air by a low route so that you do not hurt her. (03-145-5)

धर्मराजं च धौम्यं च राजपुत्रीं यमौ तथा। एकोऽप्यहमलं वोढुं किमुताद्य सहायवान् ॥०३-१४५-६॥
dharmarājaṃ ca dhaumyaṃ ca rājaputrīṃ yamau tathā। eko'pyaham alaṃ voḍhuṃ kimutādya sahāyavān ॥03-145-6॥
[धर्मराजं (dharmarājaṃ) - King Dharma; (Yudhiṣṭhira; च (ca) - and; धौम्यं (dhaumyaṃ) - Dhaumya; (the sage;) च (ca) - and; राजपुत्रीं (rājaputrīṃ) - princess; (daughter of a king; Draupadī;) यमौ (yamau) - the two sons of Yama; (Nakula and Sahadeva;) तथा (tathā) - also; एकः (ekaḥ) - alone; (one;) अपि (api) - even; अहम् (aham) - I; अलम् (alam) - sufficient; able; वोढुम् (voḍhum) - to bear; to carry; किम् (kim) - how; what; उत (uta) - indeed; आद्य (ādya) - now; today; सहायवान् (sahāyavān) - having help; accompanied;]
(Dharma-rāja and Dhaumya and the princess, likewise the two sons of Yama; even I alone am able to bear (them), how indeed (would it be) today (when I am) accompanied by help?)
Dharma-rāja, Dhaumya, the princess, and also the twin sons of Yama—even I alone am able to carry them; how much more today when I have assistance? (03-145-6)
वैशम्पायन उवाच॥

evam uktvā tataḥ kṛṣṇām uvāha sa ghaṭotkacaḥ। pāṇḍūnāṃ madhya-go vīraḥ pāṇḍavān api ca apare ॥03-145-7॥
[एवम् (evam) - thus; उक्त्वा (uktvā) - having spoken; ततः (tataḥ) - then; कृष्णाम् (kṛṣṇām) - Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī); उवाह (uvāha) - led (bore, carried); स (sa) - he; घटोत्त्कचः (ghaṭotkacaḥ) - Ghaṭotkaca (proper name); पाण्डूनाम् (pāṇḍūnām) - of the Pāṇḍus; मध्यगः (madhya-gaḥ) - going in the midst; वीरः (vīraḥ) - hero; पाण्डवान् (pāṇḍavān) - the Pāṇḍavas; अपि (api) - also; च (ca) - and; अपरे (apare) - others;]
(Thus having spoken, then Kṛṣṇā he carried, that Ghaṭotkaca; in the midst of the Pāṇḍus, the hero, the Pāṇḍavas also and others.)
Having thus spoken, Ghaṭotkaca carried Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī); the hero, moving among the Pāṇḍus, the Pāṇḍavas and others also went along. (03-145-7)
लोमशः सिद्धमार्गेण जगामानुपमद्युतिः। स्वेनैवात्मप्रभावेन द्वितीय इव भास्करः ॥०३-१४५-८॥
lomaśaḥ siddhamārgeṇa jagāmānupamadyutiḥ। svenaivātmaprabhāvena dvitīya iva bhāskaraḥ॥03-145-8॥
[लोमशः (lomaśaḥ) - Lomaśa; (name of a sage); सिद्धमार्गेण (siddhamārgeṇa) - by the accomplished path; by the path of the accomplished; by the path of the perfected beings; जगाम (jagāma) - he went; अनुपमद्युतिः (anupamadyutiḥ) - having unequalled radiance; of incomparable splendor; स्वेनैव (svena eva) - by his own indeed; आत्मप्रभावेन (ātmaprabhāvena) - by (his) own brilliance; by his self's power; द्वितीय (dvitīya) - a second; इव (iva) - like; as if; भास्करः (bhāskaraḥ) - the sun;]
(Lomaśa by the accomplished path went, having unequalled radiance, by his own indeed self's brilliance, like a second sun.)
Lomaśa, following the path of the perfected, proceeded with incomparable radiance, shining by his own brilliance as if he were a second sun. (03-145-8)
ब्राह्मणांश्चापि तान्सर्वान्समुपादाय राक्षसाः। नियोगाद्राक्षसेन्द्रस्य जग्मुर्भीमपराक्रमाः ॥०३-१४५-९॥
brāhmaṇāṁś cāpi tān sarvān samupādāya rākṣasāḥ। niyogād rākṣasendrasya jagmuḥ bhīma-parā-kramāḥ॥03-145-9॥
[ब्राह्मणान् (brāhmaṇān) - the Brāhmaṇas; च (ca) - and; अपि (api) - also; तान् (tān) - those; सर्वान् (sarvān) - all; समुपादाय (samupādāya) - having completely taken along; राक्षसाः (rākṣasāḥ) - the Rākṣasas; नियोगात् (niyogāt) - by the command; राक्षसेन्द्रस्य (rākṣasendrasya) - of the king of Rākṣasas; जग्मुः (jagmuḥ) - they went; भीमपराक्रमाः (bhīma-parā-kramāḥ) - (those) of terrific might;]
(The Rākṣasas of terrific might, having completely taken along all those Brāhmaṇas also, went by the command of the king of Rākṣasas.)
The Rākṣasas of great might, following the king of the Rākṣasas’ command, carried away all those Brāhmaṇas as well and departed. (03-145-9)
एवं सुरमणीयानि वनान्युपवनानि च। आलोकयन्तस्ते जग्मुर्विशालां बदरीं प्रति ॥०३-१४५-१०॥
evaṁ sura-maṇīyāni vanāni upavanāni ca। ālokayantaḥ te jagmur viśālāṁ badarīṁ prati॥03-145-10॥
[एवं (evaṁ) - thus; सुरमणीयानि (sura-maṇīyāni) - very beautiful; वनानि (vanāni) - forests; उपवनानि (upavanāni) - groves; च (ca) - and; आलोकयन्तः (ālokayantaḥ) - beholding; ते (te) - they; जग्मुः (jagmuḥ) - went; विशालाम् (viśālām) - vast; बदरीम् (badarīm) - Badari; प्रति (prati) - towards;]
(Thus, very beautiful forests and groves and, beholding, they went vast Badari towards.)
Thus, beholding the very beautiful forests and groves, they went towards the vast Badari. (3-145-10)
ते त्वाशुगतिभिर्वीरा राक्षसैस्तैर्महाबलैः। उह्यमाना ययुः शीघ्रं महदध्वानमल्पवत् ॥०३-१४५-११॥
te tv āśu-gatibhir vīrā rāksaṣais tair mahā-balaiḥ। uhyamānā yayuḥ śīghraṃ mahad adhvānam alpavat ॥03-145-11॥
[ते (te) - they; तु (tu) - but; आशुगतिभिः (āśu-gatibhiḥ) - with swift-going; (āśu - swift; gatibhiḥ - with movements;) वीरा (vīrā) - heroes; राक्षसैः (rākṣasaiḥ) - by Rākṣasas (demons); तैः (taiḥ) - by those; महाबलैः (mahā-balaiḥ) - of great strength; उह्यमानाः (uhyamānāḥ) - being carried; ययुः (yayuḥ) - went; शीघ्रम् (śīghram) - quickly; महद् (mahad) - great; अध्वानम् (adhvānam) - distance; अल्पवत् (alpavat) - as if little;]
(They but by swift-going heroes, by those Rākṣasas of great strength, being carried, went quickly great distance as if little.)
But they, carried by those Rākṣasas of great strength and swift movement, quickly traversed a great distance as if it were little. (03-145-11)
देशान्म्लेच्छगणाकीर्णान्नानारत्नाकरायुतान्। ददृशुर्गिरिपादांश्च नानाधातुसमाचितान् ॥०३-१४५-१२॥
deśān mlecchagaṇākīrṇān nānāratnākārāyutān। dadṛśur giripādāṃś ca nānādhātusamācitān॥03-145-12॥
[देशान् (deśān) - regions; म्लेच्छगणाकीर्णान् (mlecchagaṇākīrṇān) - crowded with groups of mlecchas; नानारत्नाकरायुतान् (nānā-ratnākara-ayutān) - abounding with various (nānā) jewel-mines (ratnākara); ददृशुः (dadṛśuḥ) - they saw; गिरिपादान् (giripādān) - mountain bases; च (ca) - and; नानाधातुसमाचितान् (nānādhātu-samācitān) - accumulated with various minerals;]
(They saw regions crowded with groups of mlecchas, abounding with various jewel-mines; and mountain bases accumulated with various minerals.)
They saw lands teeming with mleccha communities, full of various jewel-mines, and also mountain slopes filled with many kinds of minerals. (03-145-12)
विद्याधरगणाकीर्णान्युतान्वानरकिंनरैः। तथा किम्पुरुषैश्चैव गन्धर्वैश्च समन्ततः ॥०३-१४५-१३॥
vidyādhara-gaṇa-ākīrṇāni utān vānarakiṃnaraiḥ। tathā kimpuruṣaiś caiva gandharvaiś ca samantataḥ॥03-145-13॥
[विद्याधरगणाकीर्णानि (vidyādhara-gaṇa-ākīrṇāni) - filled with multitudes of Vidyādharas; उतान् (utān) - and also; वानरकिंनरैः (vānara-kiṃnaraiḥ) - with vānaras and kiṃnaras; तथा (tathā) - thus; किम्पुरुषैः (kimpuruṣaiḥ) - with kimpuruṣas; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; गन्धर्वैः (gandharvaiḥ) - with gandharvas; च (ca) - and; समन्ततः (samantataḥ) - all around;]
(Filled with multitudes of Vidyādharas, and also with vānaras and kiṃnaras; thus indeed with kimpuruṣas and gandharvas all around.)
Crowded with multitudes of Vidyādharas and also surrounded on all sides by vānaras, kiṃnaras, kimpuruṣas, and gandharvas. (03-145-13)
नदीजालसमाकीर्णान्नानापक्षिरुताकुलान्। नानाविधैर्मृगैर्जुष्टान्वानरैश्चोपशोभितान् ॥०३-१४५-१४॥
nadījālasamākīrṇānnānāpakṣirutākulān। nānāvidhairmṛgairjuṣṭānvānaraiścopaśobhitān॥03-145-14॥
[नदी-जाल-समाकीर्णान् (nadī-jāla-samākīrṇān) - filled with networks of rivers; नानापक्षि-रुत-आकुलान् (nānāpakṣi-ruta-ākulān) - resounding with the cries of various birds; नानाविधैः (nānāvidhaiḥ) - by various kinds; मृगैः (mṛgaiḥ) - with deer; जुष्टान् (juṣṭān) - inhabited; वानरैः (vānaraiḥ) - with monkeys; च (ca) - and; उपशोभितान् (upaśobhitān) - adorned;]
(Filled with networks of rivers, resounding with cries of various birds, inhabited by various kinds of deer, and adorned with monkeys.)
They were regions filled with networks of rivers, alive with the calls of many kinds of birds, inhabited by many types of deer, and beautified by monkeys. (3-145-14)
ते व्यतीत्य बहून्देशानुत्तरांश्च कुरूनपि। ददृशुर्विविधाश्चर्यं कैलासं पर्वतोत्तमम् ॥०३-१४५-१५॥
te vyatītya bahūn deśān uttarāṃś ca kurūn api। dadṛśur vividha āścaryaṃ kailāsaṃ parvatottamam॥03-145-15॥
[ते (te) - they; व्यतीत्य (vyatītya) - having crossed; बहून् (bahūn) - many; देशान् (deśān) - regions; उत्तरांश् (uttarāṃś) - northern parts; च (ca) - and; कुरून् (kurūn) - the Kurus; अपि (api) - also; ददृशुः (dadṛśuḥ) - they saw; विविधम् (vividhām) - various; आश्चर्यम् (āścaryam) - wonders; कैलासम् (kailāsam) - Kailāsa; पर्वत-उत्तमम् (parvata-uttamam) - the best of mountains;]
(They, having crossed many regions and also the northern Kurus, saw various wonders, Kailāsa, the best of mountains.)
After traversing many countries and the northern lands of the Kurus, they saw various marvels, including Kailāsa, the foremost of mountains. (03-145-15)
तस्याभ्याशे तु ददृशुर्नरनारायणाश्रमम्। उपेतं पादपैर्दिव्यैः सदापुष्पफलोपगैः ॥०३-१४५-१६॥
tasyābhyāśe tu dadṛśur nara-nārāyaṇāśramam। upetaṃ pādapaiḥ divyaiḥ sadā-puṣpa-phala-upagaiḥ ॥03-145-16॥
[तस्याभ्याशे (tasyābhyāśe) - near him; तु (tu) - but; ददृशुः (dadṛśuḥ) - they saw; नरनारायणाश्रमम् (nara-nārāyaṇāśramam) - the hermitage of Nara and Nārāyaṇa; उपेतम् (upetam) - endowed; पादपैः (pādapaiḥ) - with trees; दिव्यैः (divyaiḥ) - divine; सदा (sadā) - always; पुष्प (puṣpa) - flowers; फल (phala) - fruits; उपगैः (upagaiḥ) - abounding with;]
(Near him but they saw the hermitage of Nara and Nārāyaṇa, endowed with divine trees, always abounding with flowers and fruits.)

ददृशुस्तां च बदरीं वृत्तस्कन्धां मनोरमाम्। स्निग्धामविरलच्छायां श्रिया परमया युताम् ॥०३-१४५-१७॥
dadṛśus tāṃ ca badarīṃ vṛttaskandhāṃ manoramām। snigdhām aviralacchāyāṃ śriyā paramayā yutām ॥03-145-17॥
[ददृशुः (dadṛśuḥ) - they saw; ताम् (tām) - that (f. acc. sg.); च (ca) - and; बदरीम् (badarīm) - jujube tree (f. acc. sg.); वृत्तस्कन्धाम् (vṛttaskandhām) - with rounded trunk (f. acc. sg.); मनोरमाम् (manoramām) - beautiful (f. acc. sg.); स्निग्धाम् (snigdhām) - shining; अविरलच्छायाम् (aviralacchāyām) - of unbroken shade (f. acc. sg.); श्रिया (śriyā) - with beauty (f. instr. sg.); परमया (paramayā) - with supreme (f. instr. sg.); युताम् (yutām) - endowed (f. acc. sg.);]
(They saw that jujube tree, with rounded trunk, beautiful, shining, of unbroken shade, endowed with supreme beauty.)

[पत्रैः (patraiḥ) - with leaves; स्निग्धैः (snigdhaiḥ) - glossy; अविरलैः (aviralaiḥ) - unbroken; continuous; उपेताम् (upetām) - endowed with; supplied with; मृदुभिः (mṛdubhiḥ) - soft; शुभाम् (śubhām) - auspicious; beautiful; विशालशाखाम् (viśālaśākhām) - having wide branches; विस्तीर्णाम् (vistīrṇām) - wide-spread; अतिद्युतिसमन्विताम् (atidyuti-samanvitām) - endowed with great brilliance;]
(Endowed with leaves, glossy, unbroken, with soft, auspicious; wide-branched, wide-spread, endowed with great brilliance.)

फलैरुपचितैर्दिव्यैराचितां स्वादुभिर्भृशम्। मधुस्रवैः सदा दिव्यां महर्षिगणसेविताम् ॥ मदप्रमुदितैर्नित्यं नानाद्विजगणैर्युताम् ॥०३-१४५-१९॥
phalair upacitaiḥ divyaiḥ ācitāṁ svādubhir bhṛśam। madhusravaiḥ sadā divyāṁ maharṣigaṇa-sevitām॥ madapramuditair nityaṁ nānā-dvijagaṇair yutām॥03-145-19॥

There, the righteous one saw the abode of Nara and Nārāyaṇa, honored by gods and sages, adorned by the river Bhāgīrathī. (03-145-37)
मधुस्रवफलां दिव्यां महर्षिगणसेविताम्। तामुपेत्य महात्मानस्तेऽवसन्ब्राह्मणैः सह ॥०३-१४५-३८॥
madhusravaphalāṃ divyāṃ maharṣigaṇasevitām। tāmupetya mahātmānas te'vasan brāhmaṇaiḥ saha ॥03-145-38॥

(With honey-exuding fruits, divine, attended by multitudes of great sages, that (place) having approached, the great-souled ones, they dwelt together with Brāhmaṇas.)
Having approached that divine place with honey-exuding fruits, which was attended by multitudes of great sages, those great-souled ones dwelt there together with the Brāhmaṇas. (03-145-38)
आलोकयन्तो मैनाकं नानाद्विजगणायुतम्। हिरण्यशिखरं चैव तच्च बिन्दुसरः शिवम् ॥०३-१४५-३९॥
ālokayanto mainākaṃ nānā-dvijagaṇāyutam। hiraṇyaśikharaṃ caiva tac ca bindusaraḥ śivam ॥03-145-39॥
[आलोकयन्तः (ālokayantaḥ) - seeing; observing; मैनाकम् (mainākam) - Mainaka (mountain); नाना-द्विज-गण-आयुतम् (nānā-dvijagaṇa-āyutam) - endowed with many flocks of various birds; हिरण्य-शिखरम् (hiraṇya-śikharam) - with golden peak; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; तत् (tat) - that; च (ca) - and; बिन्दु-सरः (bindu-saraḥ) - Bindu lake; शिवम् (śivam) - auspicious;]
(Seeing Mainaka endowed with many flocks of various birds, and the golden peak indeed, and that auspicious Bindu lake.)
They saw Mainaka mountain teeming with many flocks of birds, the golden peak, and the auspicious Bindu lake. (03-145-39)
भागीरथीं सुतीर्थां च शीतामलजलां शिवाम्। मणिप्रवालप्रस्तारां पादपैरुपशोभिताम् ॥०३-१४५-४०॥
bhāgīrathīṃ sutīrthāṃ ca śītāmalajalāṃ śivām। maṇipravālaprastārāṃ pādapair upaśobhitām ॥03-145-40॥
[भागीरथीं (bhāgīrathīm) - descended by Bhagiratha (Ganga); सुतीर्थां (sutīrthām) - having excellent fords (holy places); च (ca) - and; शीतामलजलां (śītāmalajalām) - having cold and pure water; शिवाम् (śivām) - auspicious; मणिप्रवालप्रस्तारां (maṇipravālaprastārām) - spreading with jewels and coral; पादपैः (pādapaiḥ) - with trees; उपशोभिताम् (upaśobhitām) - adorned;]
(Bhagirathi, having excellent fords and having cold, pure water, auspicious, spreading with jewels and coral, adorned with trees.)

दिव्यपुष्पसमाकीर्णां मनसः प्रीतिवर्धनीम्। वीक्षमाणा महात्मानो विजह्रुस्तत्र पाण्डवाः ॥०३-१४५-४१॥
divyapuṣpasamākīrṇāṃ manasaḥ prītivardhanīm। vīkṣamāṇā mahātmāno vijahrus tatra pāṇḍavāḥ ॥03-145-41॥
[दिव्यपुष्पसमाकीर्णां (divyapuṣpasamākīrṇām) - covered with divine flowers; मनसः (manasaḥ) - of the mind; प्रीतिवर्धनीम् (prītivardhanīm) - increasing delight; वीक्षमाणा (vīkṣamāṇā) - observing; महात्मानः (mahātmānaḥ) - great-souled ones; विजह्रुः (vijahrus) - enjoyed; तत्र (tatra) - there; पाण्डवाः (pāṇḍavāḥ) - the Pāṇḍavas;]
(Covered with divine flowers, increasing the delight of the mind, observing, the great-souled ones, the Pāṇḍavas, enjoyed there.)
The great-souled Pāṇḍavas, observing the place covered with divine flowers that increased the delight of the mind, enjoyed themselves there. (03-145-41)
तत्र देवान्पितॄंश्चैव तर्पयन्तः पुनः पुनः। ब्राह्मणैः सहिता वीरा न्यवसन्पुरुषर्षभाः ॥०३-१४५-४२॥
tatra devān pitṝṃś caiva tarpayantaḥ punaḥ punaḥ। brāhmaṇaiḥ sahitā vīrā nyavasan puruṣarṣabhāḥ॥03-145-42॥
[तत्र (tatra) - there; देवान् (devān) - the gods; पितॄन् (pitṝn) - the ancestors; च (ca) - and; एव (eva) - indeed; तर्पयन्तः (tarpayantaḥ) - offering satisfaction; पुनः (punaḥ) - again; पुनः (punaḥ) - again; ब्राह्मणैः (brāhmaṇaiḥ) - with the Brāhmaṇas; सहिताः (sahitāḥ) - associated; वीराः (vīrāḥ) - heroes; न्यवसन् (nyavasan) - dwelt; पुरुषर्षभाः (puruṣarṣabhāḥ) - chiefs among men;]
(There, offering satisfaction again and again to the gods and ancestors, the heroes associated with the Brāhmaṇas, the chiefs among men, dwelt.)
There, the chief among men, together with the Brāhmaṇas, repeatedly offered oblations to the gods and ancestors, and the heroes dwelt there. (03-145-42)
कृष्णायास्तत्र पश्यन्तः क्रीडितान्यमरप्रभाः। विचित्राणि नरव्याघ्रा रेमिरे तत्र पाण्डवाः ॥०३-१४५-४३॥
kṛṣṇāyās tatra paśyantaḥ krīḍitāni amara-prabhāḥ। vicitrāṇi nara-vyāghrā re mire tatra pāṇḍavāḥ॥03-145-43॥
[कृष्णायाः (kṛṣṇāyāḥ) - of Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī); तत्र (tatra) - there; पश्यन्तः (paśyantaḥ) - seeing; क्रीडितानि (krīḍitāni) - plays; अमरप्रभाः (amara-prabhāḥ) - lords of the immortals (gods); विचित्राणि (vicitrāṇi) - various; नरव्याघ्राः (nara-vyāghrāḥ) - tiger among men; रेमिरे (remire) - enjoyed; तत्र (tatra) - there; पाण्डवाः (pāṇḍavāḥ) - the Pāṇḍavas;]
(Of Kṛṣṇā there seeing the plays, the lords of immortals; various tiger among men enjoyed there the Pāṇḍavas.)
There, the Pāṇḍavas—tigers among men—saw the various plays of Kṛṣṇā, heroes like the lords of the immortals, and took delight there. (03-145-43)
