ततोऽर्जुनश्चित्रसेनं प्रहसन्निदमब्रवीत्। मध्ये गन्धर्वसैन्यानां महेष्वासो महाद्युतिः ॥०३-२३५-१॥
tatoʼrjunaś citrasenaṃ prahasann idam abravīt। madhye gandharvasainyānāṃ maheṣvāso mahādyutiḥ ॥03-235-1॥

(Then Arjuna, the great archer possessed of great splendor, smiling, spoke this to Citrasena in the midst of the Gandharva armies.)
Then Arjuna, the illustrious great archer, smiling, spoke these words to Citrasena in the midst of the Gandharva armies. (03-235-1)
किं ते व्यवसितं वीर कौरवाणां विनिग्रहे। किमर्थं च सदारोऽयं निगृहीतः सुयोधनः ॥०३-२३५-२॥
kiṁ te vyavasitaṁ vīra kauravāṇāṁ vinigrahe। kimarthaṁ ca sadāro'yaṁ nigṛhītaḥ suyodhanaḥ॥03-235-2॥

(What by you decided, O hero, for restraint of the Kauravas? For what reason and with wife this Suyodhana is restrained?)
O hero, what have you decided for restraining the Kauravas? And for what reason has Suyodhana been restrained here with his wife? (03-235-2)

विदितोऽयमभिप्रायस्तत्रस्थेन महात्मना। दुर्योधनस्य पापस्य कर्णस्य च धनञ्जय ॥०३-२३५-३॥
vidito'ayam abhiprāyas tatrasthena mahātmanā। duryodhanasya pāpasya karṇasya ca dhanañjaya ॥03-235-3॥
[विदितः (viditaḥ) - known; अयम् (ayam) - this; अभिप्रायः (abhiprāyaḥ) - intention; तत्रस्थेन (tatrasthena) - by the one situated there; महात्मना (mahātmanā) - by the great-souled; दुर्योधनस्य (duryodhanasya) - of Duryodhana; पापस्य (pāpasya) - of the wicked; कर्णस्य (karṇasya) - of Karṇa; च (ca) - and; धनञ्जय (dhanañjaya) - O Dhanañjaya;]
(This intention is known by the great-souled one situated there, of wicked Duryodhana and of Karṇa, O Dhanañjaya.)
O Dhanañjaya, this intention of wicked Duryodhana and Karṇa is known by the great-souled one who is there. (03-235-3)
वनस्थान्भवतो ज्ञात्वा क्लिश्यमानाननर्हवत्। इमेऽवहसितुं प्राप्ता द्रौपदीं च यशस्विनीम् ॥०३-२३५-४॥
vanasthān bhavato jñātvā kliśyamānān anarhavat | ime'vahasituṃ prāptā draupadīṃ ca yaśasvinīm ॥03-235-4॥
[वनस्थान् (vanasthān) - dwelling in the forest; भवतः (bhavataḥ) - your; ज्ञात्वा (jñātvā) - having known; क्लिश्यमानान् (kliśyamānān) - afflicted; अनर्हवत् (anarhavat) - undeserving; इमे (ime) - these; अवहसितुम् (avahasitum) - to ridicule; प्राप्ताः (prāptāḥ) - have come; द्रौपदीम् (draupadīm) - Draupadī; च (ca) - and; यशस्विनीम् (yaśasvinīm) - the illustrious;]
(Having known you (who are) dwelling in the forest, afflicted, undeserving, these have come to ridicule (both) Draupadī and the illustrious (one).)
Knowing that you, who are undeserving, are afflicted and dwelling in the forest, these have come to ridicule you and the illustrious Draupadī. (03-235-4)
ज्ञात्वा चिकीर्षितं चैषां मामुवाच सुरेश्वरः। गच्छ दुर्योधनं बद्ध्वा सामात्यं त्वमिहानय ॥०३-२३५-५॥
jñātvā cikīrṣitaṁ caiṣāṁ māmuvāca sureśvaraḥ। gaccha duryodhanaṁ baddhvā sāmātyaṁ tvamihānaya॥03-235-5॥
[ज्ञात्वा (jñātvā) - having known; चिकीर्षितं (cikīrṣitam) - intended to be done; च (ca) - and; एषां (eṣām) - of these; माम् (mām) - to me; उवाच (uvāca) - he said; सुरेश्वरः (sureśvaraḥ) - the lord of the gods; गच्छ (gaccha) - go; दुर्योधनं (duryodhanam) - Duryodhana; बद्ध्वा (baddhvā) - having bound; सामात्यं (sāmātyam) - with his ministers; त्वम् (tvam) - you; इह (iha) - here; आनय (ānaya) - bring;]
(Having known what is intended by these, the lord of the gods spoke to me: "Go, bind Duryodhana together with his ministers, you bring (them) here." (03-235-5))
Knowing the intentions of these men, the lord of the gods said to me: "Go, seize Duryodhana and his ministers and bring them here." (03-235-5)
धनञ्जयश्च ते रक्ष्यः सह भ्रातृभिराहवे। स हि प्रियः सखा तुभ्यं शिष्यश्च तव पाण्डवः ॥०३-२३५-६॥
dhanañjayaś ca te rakṣyaḥ saha bhrātṛbhir āhave। sa hi priyaḥ sakhā tubhyaṃ śiṣyaś ca tava pāṇḍavaḥ॥03-235-6॥
[धनञ्जयः (dhanañjayaḥ) - Dhananjaya; च (ca) - and; ते (te) - your; रक्ष्यः (rakṣyaḥ) - to be protected; सह (saha) - together with; भ्रातृभिः (bhrātṛbhiḥ) - by brothers; आहवे (āhave) - in battle; सः (saḥ) - he; हि (hi) - indeed; प्रियः (priyaḥ) - dear; सखा (sakhā) - friend; तुभ्यम् (tubhyam) - to you; शिष्यः (śiṣyaḥ) - disciple; च (ca) - and; तव (tava) - your; पाण्डवः (pāṇḍavaḥ) - the son of Pandu;]
(Dhananjaya and your to be protected together with brothers in battle. He indeed dear friend to you, disciple and your son of Pandu.)
Dhananjaya must be protected by you along with his brothers in battle, for he is indeed your dear friend, disciple, and the son of Pandu. (03-235-6)
वचनाद्देवराजस्य ततोऽस्मीहागतो द्रुतम्। अयं दुरात्मा बद्धश्च गमिष्यामि सुरालयम् ॥०३-२३५-७॥
vacanād devarājasya tato'smīhāgato drutam। ayaṃ durātmā baddhaś ca gamiṣyāmi surālayam॥03-235-7॥
[वचनात् (vacanāt) - from the command; देवराजस्य (devarājasya) - of the king of the gods; ततः (tataḥ) - then; अस्मि (asmi) - I am; इह (iha) - here; आगतः (āgataḥ) - arrived; द्रुतम् (drutam) - quickly; अयम् (ayam) - this; दुरात्मा (durātmā) - wicked-souled; बद्धः (baddhaḥ) - bound; च (ca) - and; गमिष्यामि (gamiṣyāmi) - I will go; सुरालयम् (surālayam) - to the abode of the gods;]
(From the command of the king of the gods, then I am here arrived quickly. This wicked-souled (one) is bound, and I will go to the abode of the gods.)
At the command of the king of the gods, I have come here swiftly. This wicked soul is bound, and I will go to the abode of the gods. (03-235-7)
अर्जुन उवाच॥

उत्सृज्यतां चित्रसेन भ्रातास्माकं सुयोधनः। धर्मराजस्य संदेशान्मम चेदिच्छसि प्रियम् ॥०३-२३५-८॥
utsṛjyatāṃ citrasena bhrātāsmākaṃ suyodhanaḥ। dharmarājasya saṃdeśānmama cedicchasi priyam ॥03-235-8॥
[उत्सृज्यतां (utsṛjyatām) - let him be released; चित्रसेन (citrasena) - Citraseṇa; भ्राता (bhrātā) - brother; अस्माकं (asmākaṃ) - of us; सुयोधनः (suyodhanaḥ) - Suyodhana; धर्मराजस्य (dharmarājasya) - of Dharmarāja; संदेशात् (saṃdeśāt) - by the message; मम (mama) - of me; चेदि (cedi) - if; इच्छसि (icchasi) - you wish; प्रियम् (priyam) - favor;]
(Let Citraseṇa, brother of us Suyodhana, be released; by Dharmarāja's message and mine, if you wish (to do) a favor.)
If you wish to do me a favor, let Suyodhana's brother Citraseṇa be released as per the message of Dharmarāja and myself. (03-235-8)

पापोऽयं नित्यसंदुष्टो न विमोक्षणमर्हति। प्रलब्धा धर्मराजस्य कृष्णायाश्च धनञ्जय ॥०३-२३५-९॥
pāpo'yaṃ nityasanduṣṭo na vimokṣaṇamarhati। pralabdhā dharmarājasya kṛṣṇāyāśca dhanañjaya ॥03-235-9॥
[पापः (pāpaḥ) - sinful one; अयम् (ayam) - this; नित्य-संदुष्टः (nitya-sanduṣṭaḥ) - always corrupted; न (na) - not; विमोक्षणम् (vimokṣaṇam) - release; अर्हति (arhati) - deserves; प्रलब्धा (pralabdhā) - insulted; धर्मराजस्य (dharmarājasya) - of Dharmarāja (Yudhiṣṭhira); कृष्णायाः (kṛṣṇāyāḥ) - of Kṛṣṇā (Draupadī); च (ca) - and; धनञ्जय (dhanañjaya) - O Dhanañjaya (Arjuna);]
(This sinful one, always corrupted, does not deserve release. Insulted are Dharmarāja, Kṛṣṇā, and Dhanañjaya.)
This sinful man, always wicked, does not deserve to be freed. Dharmarāja, Kṛṣṇā, and you, O Dhanañjaya, have been insulted. (03-235-9)
नेदं चिकीर्षितं तस्य कुन्तीपुत्रो महाव्रतः। जानाति धर्मराजो हि श्रुत्वा कुरु यथेच्छसि ॥०३-२३५-१०॥
nedaṁ cikīrṣitaṁ tasya kuntīputro mahāvrataḥ। jānāti dharmarājo hi śrutvā kuru yathecchasi॥03-235-10॥
[नेदम् (nedaṁ) (nedaṁ) - not this; चिकीर्षितम् (cikīrṣitam) (cikīrṣitam) - desired to be done; तस्य (tasya) (tasya) - by him; कुन्तीपुत्रः (kuntīputraḥ) (kuntīputraḥ) - the son of Kuntī; महाव्रतः (mahāvrataḥ) (mahāvrataḥ) - of great vow; जानाति (jānāti) (jānāti) - knows; धर्मराजः (dharmarājaḥ) (dharmarājaḥ) - Dharmarāja; हि (hi) (hi) - indeed; श्रुत्वा (śrutvā) (śrutvā) - having heard; कुरु (kuru) (kuru) - do; यथेच्छसि (yathecchasi) (yathecchasi) - as you wish;]
(Not this desired to be done by him the son of Kuntī, of great vow; Dharmarāja indeed knows; having heard, do as you wish.)
The son of Kuntī, who is of great vow, did not desire this to be done; Dharmarāja indeed is aware of it. Having heard, do as you wish. (03-235-10)

ते सर्व एव राजानमभिजग्मुर्युधिष्ठिरम्। अभिगम्य च तत्सर्वं शशंसुस्तस्य दुष्कृतम् ॥०३-२३५-११॥
te sarva eva rājānam abhijagmur yudhiṣṭhiram। abhigamya ca tat sarvaṃ śaśaṃsus tasya duṣkṛtam॥03-235-11॥
[ते (te) - they; सर्व (sarva) - all; एव (eva) - indeed; राजानम् (rājānam) - king; अभिजग्मुः (abhijagmuḥ) - approached; युधिष्ठिरम् (yudhiṣṭhiram) - Yudhishthira; अभिगम्य (abhigamya) - having approached; च (ca) - and; तत् (tat) - that; सर्वम् (sarvam) - all; शशंसुः (śaśaṃsuḥ) - they informed; तस्य (tasya) - his; दुष्कृतम् (duṣkṛtam) - evil deed;]
(They all indeed the king approached Yudhishthira. Having approached, and that all they informed his evil deed.)
They all went to King Yudhishthira; after approaching him, they told him all about that evil deed of his. (03-235-11)
अजातशत्रुस्तच्छ्रुत्वा गन्धर्वस्य वचस्तदा। मोक्षयामास तान्सर्वान्गन्धर्वान्प्रशशंस च ॥०३-२३५-१२॥
ajātaśatrus tacchrutvā gandharvasya vacas tadā। mokṣayām āsa tān sarvān gandharvān praśaśaṁsa ca ॥03-235-12॥
[अजातशत्रुः (ajātaśatruḥ) - Ajātaśatru (proper noun); तत् (tat) - that; श्रुत्वा (śrutvā) - having heard; गन्धर्वस्य (gandharvasya) - of the Gandharva; वचः (vacas) - words; तदा (tadā) - then; मोक्षयाम् (mokṣayām) - set free (desiderative, causative root √muc); आस (āsa) - he did; तान् (tān) - those; सर्वान् (sarvān) - all; गन्धर्वान् (gandharvān) - the Gandharvas; प्रशशंस (praśaśaṁsa) - praised; च (ca) - and;]
(Ajātaśatru, having heard that word of the Gandharva then, set free all those Gandharvas and praised (them) and.)
Ajātaśatru, having heard the words of the Gandharva at that time, set all those Gandharvas free and also praised them. (03-235-12)
दिष्ट्या भवद्भिर्बलिभिः शक्तैः सर्वैर्न हिंसितः। दुर्वृत्तो धार्तराष्ट्रोऽयं सामात्यज्ञातिबान्धवः ॥०३-२३५-१३॥
diṣṭyā bhavadbhir balibhiḥ śaktaiḥ sarvaiḥ na hiṁsitaḥ। durvṛtto dhārtarāṣṭro'yaṁ sāmātyajñātibāndhavaḥ॥03-235-13॥
[दिष्ट्या (diṣṭyā) - by fortune; by providence; भवद्भिः (bhavadbhiḥ) - by you all; बलिभिः (balibhiḥ) - mighty; powerful; शक्तैः (śaktaiḥ) - capable; strong; सर्वैः (sarvaiḥ) - by all; न (na) - not; हिंसितः (hiṁsitaḥ) - harmed; injured; दुर्वृत्तः (durvṛttaḥ) - ill-behaved; wicked; धार्तराष्ट्रः (dhārtarāṣṭraḥ) - son of Dhṛtarāṣṭra; अयम् (ayam) - this; सामात्य-ज्ञाति-बान्धवः (sāmātya-jñāti-bāndhavaḥ) - with ministers, kinsmen, and friends;]
(By fortune, by you all, mighty, capable, by all, not harmed, the ill-behaved son of Dhṛtarāṣṭra, this, with ministers, kinsmen, and friends.)
By good fortune, this wicked son of Dhṛtarāṣṭra with his ministers, kinsmen, and friends has not been harmed by you all, powerful and capable as you are. (03-235-13)
उपकारो महांस्तात कृतोऽयं मम खेचराः। कुलं न परिभूतं मे मोक्षेणास्य दुरात्मनः ॥०३-२३५-१४॥
upakāro mahāṁs tāta kṛto'yaṁ mama khecarāḥ। kulaṁ na paribhūtaṁ me mokṣeṇāsya durātmanaḥ॥03-235-14॥
[उपकारः (upakāraḥ) - help; benefit; महान् (mahān) - great; तात (tāta) - O father; कृतः (kṛtaḥ) - has been done; अयम् (ayam) - this; मम (mama) - my; खेचराः (khecarāḥ) - O sky-dwellers; O flying beings; कुलम् (kulam) - family; न (na) - not; परिभूतम् (paribhūtam) - humiliated; disgraced; मे (me) - my; मोक्षेण (mokṣeṇa) - by liberation; अस्य (asya) - of this; दुरात्मनः (durātmanaḥ) - wicked-minded (one);]
(Help great O father has been done this my O sky-dwellers; family not humiliated my by liberation of this wicked-minded one.)
O father, a great favor has been done for me, O sky-dwellers; my family has not been humiliated by the liberation of this wicked-minded one. (03-235-14)
आज्ञापयध्वमिष्टानि प्रीयामो दर्शनेन वः। प्राप्य सर्वानभिप्रायांस्ततो व्रजत माचिरम् ॥०३-२३५-१५॥
ājñāpayadhvam iṣṭāni prīyāmo darśanena vaḥ। prāpya sarvān abhiprāyāṃs tato vrajata māciram ॥03-235-15॥
[आज्ञापयध्वम् (ājñāpayadhvam) - order (you all); इष्टानि (iṣṭāni) - what is desired; प्रीयामः (prīyāmaḥ) - we are pleased; दर्शनेन (darśanena) - by the sight; वः (vaḥ) - of you; प्राप्य (prāpya) - having obtained; सर्वान् (sarvān) - all; अभिप्रायान् (abhiprāyān) - intentions; ततः (tataḥ) - then; व्रजत (vrajata) - go (you all); मा (mā) - not; अचिरम् (aciram) - delay;]
(Order (you all) what is desired. We are pleased by the sight of you. Having obtained all intentions, then go, do not delay.)
Order whatever you wish. We are pleased to see you. Having received all your wishes, depart now without delay. (03-235-15)
अनुज्ञातास्तु गन्धर्वाः पाण्डुपुत्रेण धीमता। सहाप्सरोभिः संहृष्टाश्चित्रसेनमुखा ययुः ॥०३-२३५-१६॥
anujñātās tu gandharvāḥ pāṇḍu-putreṇa dhīmatā। saha apsarobhih saṃhṛṣṭāś citrasena-mukhā yayuḥ ॥03-235-16॥
[अनुज्ञाताः (anujñātāḥ) - having been permitted; तु (tu) - but; गन्धर्वाः (gandharvāḥ) - the Gandharvas; पाण्डुपुत्रेण (pāṇḍu-putreṇa) - by the son of Pāṇḍu; धीमता (dhīmatā) - wise; सह (saha) - together with; अप्सरोभिः (apsarobhih) - with the Apsarases; संहृष्टाः (saṃhṛṣṭāḥ) - delighted; चित्रसेनमुखाः (citrasena-mukhāḥ) - headed by Citraseṇa; ययुः (yayuḥ) - they went;]
(Having been permitted, but the Gandharvas by the wise son of Pāṇḍu, together with the Apsarases, delighted, headed by Citraseṇa, they went.)
But after being permitted by the wise son of Pāṇḍu, the delighted Gandharvas, headed by Citraseṇa, departed together with the Apsarases. (03-235-16)
देवराडपि गन्धर्वान्मृतांस्तान्समजीवयत्। दिव्येनामृतवर्षेण ये हताः कौरवैर्युधि ॥०३-२३५-१७॥
devarāḍ api gandharvān mṛtāṁs tān samajīvayat। divyenāmṛtavarṣeṇa ye hatāḥ kauravair yudhi ॥03-235-17॥
[देवराट् (devarāṭ) - the king of the gods; अपि (api) - also; गन्धर्वान् (gandharvān) - the Gandharvas; मृतान् (mṛtān) - dead; तान् (tān) - those; समजीवयत् (samajīvayat) - revived; दिव्येन (divyena) - by divine; अमृतवर्षेण (amṛtavarṣeṇa) - nectar-shower; ये (ye) - who; हताः (hatāḥ) - were slain; कौरवैः (kauravaiḥ) - by the Kauravas; युधि (yudhi) - in battle;]
(The king of the gods also revived those Gandharvas who were dead, by a divine shower of nectar, who had been slain by the Kauravas in battle.)

ज्ञातींस्तानवमुच्याथ राजदारांश्च सर्वशः। कृत्वा च दुष्करं कर्म प्रीतियुक्ताश्च पाण्डवाः ॥०३-२३५-१८॥
jñātīṁs tān avamucya atha rājadārāṁś ca sarvaśaḥ। kṛtvā ca duṣkaraṁ karma prītiyuktāś ca pāṇḍavāḥ॥03-235-18॥
[ज्ञातींस्तान् (jñātīn tān) - those relatives; अवमुच्य (avamucya) - having released; अथ (atha) - then; राजदारान् (rājadārān) - royal women; च (ca) - and; सर्वशः (sarvaśaḥ) - entirely; कृत्वा (kṛtvā) - having done; च (ca) - and; दुष्करं (duṣkaram) - difficult; कर्म (karma) - deed; प्रीतियुक्ताः (prītiyuktāḥ) - joined with satisfaction; च (ca) - and; पाण्डवाः (pāṇḍavāḥ) - the Pāṇḍavas;]
(Those relatives having released, then the royal women also entirely, having done the difficult deed, joined with satisfaction, and the Pāṇḍavas.)
The Pāṇḍavas, having released those relatives and all the royal women, and having accomplished the difficult task, were filled with satisfaction. (03-235-18)
सस्त्रीकुमारैः कुरुभिः पूज्यमाना महारथाः। बभ्राजिरे महात्मानः कुरुमध्ये यथाग्नयः ॥०३-२३५-१९॥
sastrīkumāraiḥ kurubhiḥ pūjyamānā mahārathāḥ। babhrājire mahātmānaḥ kurumadhye yathāgnayaḥ॥03-235-19॥
[सस्त्रीकुमारैः (sa-strī-kumāraiḥ) - with women and boys; कुरुभिः (kurubhiḥ) - by the Kurus; पूज्यमाना (pūjyamānāḥ) - being honored; महारथाः (mahārathāḥ) - great chariot-warriors; बभ्राजिरे (babhrājire) - shone; महात्मानः (mahātmānaḥ) - great-souled ones; कुरुमध्ये (kuru-madhye) - in the midst of the Kurus; यथा (yathā) - like; अग्नयः (agnayaḥ) - fires;]
(With women and boys, by the Kurus being honored, the great chariot-warriors, the great-souled ones, shone in the midst of the Kurus like fires.)
Honored by the women and boys of the Kurus, the great chariot-warriors, those great souls, shone among the Kurus like blazing fires. (03-235-19)
ततो दुर्योधनं मुच्य भ्रातृभिः सहितं तदा। युधिष्ठिरः सप्रणयमिदं वचनमब्रवीत् ॥०३-२३५-२०॥
tato duryodhanaṃ mucya bhrātṛbhiḥ sahitaṃ tadā। yudhiṣṭhiraḥ sapraṇayam idaṃ vacanam abravīt॥03-235-20॥
[ततः (tataḥ) - then; दुर्योधनम् (duryodhanam) - Duryodhana; मुच्य (mucya) - having released; भ्रातृभिः (bhrātṛbhiḥ) - with brothers; सहितम् (sahitam) - together; तदा (tadā) - at that time; युधिष्ठिरः (yudhiṣṭhiraḥ) - Yudhishthira; सप्रणयम् (sapraṇayam) - with affection; इदम् (idam) - this; वचनम् (vacanam) - speech; अब्रवीत् (abravīt) - spoke;]
(Then, Duryodhana having been released together with (his) brothers at that time, Yudhishthira, with affection, spoke this speech.)
Then, after Duryodhana was released along with his brothers, Yudhishthira affectionately spoke these words. (03-235-20)
मा स्म तात पुनः कार्षीरीदृशं साहसं क्वचित्। न हि साहसकर्तारः सुखमेधन्ति भारत ॥०३-२३५-२१॥
mā sma tāta punaḥ kārṣīr īdṛśaṃ sāhasaṃ kvacit. na hi sāhasakartāraḥ sukham edhanti bhārata ॥03-235-21॥
[मा (mā) - do not; स्म (sma) - indeed; तात (tāta) - dear one; पुनः (punaḥ) - again; कार्षीः (kārṣīḥ) - you should do; ईदृशं (īdṛśam) - such; साहसं (sāhasam) - rashness; क्वचित् (kvacit) - at any time; न (na) - not; हि (hi) - for; साहसकर्तारः (sāhasakartāraḥ) - doers of rash acts; सुखम् (sukham) - happiness; एधन्ति (edhanti) - obtain; भारत (bhārata) - O Bhārata;]
(Do not indeed, dear one, again do such rashness at any time. For doers of rash acts do not obtain happiness, O Bhārata.)
Dear one, do not ever again perform such rashness. Indeed, those who act recklessly do not find happiness, O Bhārata. (03-235-21)
स्वस्तिमान्सहितः सर्वैर्भ्रातृभिः कुरुनन्दन। गृहान्व्रज यथाकामं वैमनस्यं च मा कृथाः ॥०३-२३५-२२॥
svastimān sahitaḥ sarvair bhrātṛbhiḥ kurunandana। gṛhān vraja yathākāmaṃ vaimanasyaṃ ca mā kṛthāḥ ॥03-235-22॥
[स्वस्तिमान् (svastimān) - one endowed with well-being; सहितः (sahitaḥ) - together with; सर्वैः (sarvaiḥ) - with all; भ्रातृभिः (bhrātṛbhiḥ) - brothers; कुरुनन्दन (kurunandana) - O delight of the Kurus; गृहान् (gṛhān) - homes; व्रज (vraja) - go; यथाकामं (yathākāmam) - as you desire; वaimanस्यं (vaimanasyaṃ) - enmity; च (ca) - and; मा (mā) - do not; कृथाः (kṛthāḥ) - create;]
(O delight of the Kurus, endowed with well-being, go to your homes together with all (your) brothers as you desire, and do not create enmity.)
O Kurunandana, depart to your homes with all your brothers in well-being and as you desire, and do not cause any enmity. (03-235-22)
पाण्डवेनाभ्यनुज्ञातो राजा दुर्योधनस्तदा। विदीर्यमाणो व्रीडेन जगाम नगरं प्रति ॥०३-२३५-२३॥
pāṇḍavenābhyanujñāto rājā duryodhanastadā। vidīryamāṇo vrīḍena jagāma nagaraṃ prati ॥03-235-23॥
[पाण्डवेन (pāṇḍavena) - by the Pāṇḍava; अभ्यनुज्ञातः (abhyanujñātaḥ) - having been permitted; राजा (rājā) - king; दुर्योधनः (duryodhanaḥ) - Duryodhana; तदा (tadā) - then; विदीर्यमाणः (vidīryamāṇaḥ) - being torn apart; व्रीडेन (vrīḍena) - with shame; जगाम (jagāma) - went; नगरं (nagaraṃ) - to the city; प्रति (prati) - towards;]
(By the Pāṇḍava having been permitted, the king Duryodhana then, being torn apart with shame, went towards the city.)
Then, having been permitted by the Pāṇḍava, King Duryodhana, torn with shame, went towards the city. (03-235-23)
तस्मिन्गते कौरवेये कुन्तीपुत्रो युधिष्ठिरः। भ्रातृभिः सहितो वीरः पूज्यमानो द्विजातिभिः ॥०३-२३५-२४॥
tasmin gate kauraveye kuntīputro yudhiṣṭhiraḥ। bhrātṛbhiḥ sahito vīraḥ pūjyamāno dvijātibhiḥ ॥03-235-24॥
[तस्मिन् (tasmin) - in that; गते (gate) - having gone; कौरवेये (kauraveye) - the Kaurava (descendant of Kuru); कुन्तीपुत्रः (kuntīputraḥ) - Kuntī's son; युधिष्ठिरः (yudhiṣṭhiraḥ) - Yudhiṣṭhira; भ्रातृभिः (bhrātṛbhiḥ) - with brothers; सहितः (sahitaḥ) - together; वीरः (vīraḥ) - hero; पूज्यमानः (pūjyamānaḥ) - being honored; द्विजातिभिः (dvijātibhiḥ) - by the twice-born;]
(In that (time), when the Kaurava had gone, Kunti's son Yudhiṣṭhira, together with brothers, the hero, being honored by the twice-born.)
When the Kaurava had departed, Yudhiṣṭhira, the son of Kunti, heroically together with his brothers, was honored by the twice-born. (03-235-24)
तपोधनैश्च तैः सर्वैर्वृतः शक्र इवामरैः। वने द्वैतवने तस्मिन्विजहार मुदा युतः ॥०३-२३५-२५॥
tapodhanaiś ca taiḥ sarvair vṛtaḥ śakra ivāmaraiḥ। vane dvaitavane tasmin vijahāra mudā yutaḥ॥03-235-25॥
[तपोधनैः (tapodhanaiḥ) - by ascetics (wealthy in tapas); च (ca) - and; तैः (taiḥ) - by them; सर्वैः (sarvaiḥ) - by all; वृतः (vṛtaḥ) - surrounded; शक्रः (śakraḥ) - Indra; इव (iva) - like; अमरैः (amaraiḥ) - by the immortals (gods); वने (vane) - in the forest; द्वैतवने (dvaitavane) - in Dvaita forest; तस्मिन् (tasmin) - in that; विजहार (vijahāra) - he sported; मुदा (mudā) - with joy; युतः (yutaḥ) - endowed (with);]
(Surrounded by all those ascetics, like Indra by the immortals, in the forest, in the Dvaita forest, in that (place), he sported with joy, endowed (with happiness).)
Surrounded by all those ascetics like Indra is by the immortals, he sported joyfully in that Dvaita forest.
