Vasudeva said:
This statement is fitting for the leader of the Somakas, fulfilling the purpose of the mighty Pandava king.
This and our previous duty should be well-guided. Otherwise, indeed, if a man acts without proper guidance, he would be very foolish.
However, what relationship is equal between us and the Kuru and Pandu, as desired among the Pandavas and them?
They have been brought here for marriage, as you wished. Once the marriage is completed, we will all happily return to our homes.
You are the most senior among the kings in both age and knowledge. We all regard ourselves as your disciples here, without any doubt.
Dhritarashtra holds you in high regard at all times. You are a close friend of the teachers, Drona and Kripa.
You should send the message today for the benefit of the Pandavas. It is decided by everyone that you will send it to us.
If the best of the Kurus were to act justly and make peace, there would not be a great destruction of the Kuru and Pandu families due to their brotherhood.
Then, in his pride and delusion, the son of Dhritarashtra should refrain from acting. After sending others, he should challenge us later.
Then the foolish Duryodhana, along with his ministers and relatives, will meet his end, being deluded, when Arjuna, the wielder of the Gandiva bow, is enraged.
Vaiśampāyana spoke:
Then, after honoring Vārṣṇeya, King Virāṭa sent him along with his group and relatives to their homes.
When Krishna went to Dvaraka, Yudhishthira and others, along with King Virata, prepared everything for the battle.
Then King Virata, along with his relatives, sent Drupada, the king, to all the other kings.
Upon the command of the Kuru leaders, the kings of the Matsyas and Panchalas gathered, filled with joy and strength.
Upon hearing this, the sons of Pandu gathered a great army. Meanwhile, the son of Dhritarashtra also assembled the kings.
O King, the earth was in distress because of the Kuru and Pandava. At that time, the entire expedition of the rulers occurred.
The strengths of those heroes seem to come from all directions, shaking the earth, the goddess with its mountains and forests, as if in a divine dance.
At that time, the wise and aged son of Panchala sent his own priest to the Kauravas with Yudhishthira's approval.
