samākulā mahī rājan kurupāṇḍavakāraṇāt। tadā samabhavatkṛtsnā samprayāṇe mahīkṣitām ॥5-5-16॥
[समाकुला (samākulā) - distressed; मही (mahī) - earth; राजन् (rājan) - O king; कुरुपाण्डवकारणात् (kurupāṇḍavakāraṇāt) - due to the Kuru and Pandava; तदा (tadā) - then; समभवत् (samabhavat) - became; कृत्स्ना (kṛtsnā) - entire; सम्प्रयाणे (samprayāṇe) - in the expedition; महीक्षिताम् (mahīkṣitām) - of the rulers;]
